The food is consistently good and a gluten free girls dream! We started with the cheese bread, it was delicious. My friend and I both got the meaty meaty pizza (mine cauliflower and hers on regular crust) and wow it was delicious and we both had leftovers to take. We got pizza while I was in town visiting friends. I'm not vegan but I was intrigued by the vegan mushroom Florentine pizza and had to try- it was amazing! The crust was fabulous and airy- Neapolitan style, I'd say. The toppings were so well done- the garlic cream sauce was amazing, with whole cloves of garlic in it. The roasted tomatoes added the perfect acidic touch. The vegan mozarella was difficult to identify as vegan, it was that good. So glad I chose this one! We also all shared a big Caesar salad, and the dressing really blew me away- so delicious and garlicky! My friend is gluten free and was thrilled that the croutons are gluten free. I live in scottsdale and I rarely explore restaurants in the area this restaurant is located. My friend lives nearby, and yesterday she suggested we stop here. I was really surprised at all the options including vegan, but I liked that the items were organic. I tried the Cobb salad? (I think that's what it's called) and I loved that it had pistachio, corn and lots of items. The salad was delicious. Being of Italian heritage & 7@ years of age, needless to asay I have enjoyed pizza from all over the worls, particularly from NYC & Italy, but this afternoon we decided to dine at Picazzo's on Cactus near Tatum. For no reason we ordered the "Vortex" pizza! Oh my God, what was delivered was manna from Heaven!!! The crust was exquisite and the flavors of pepperoni, sausage, olives, carmelized onions & red peppers melted in your mouth. First time coming to this location. Love coming here for HH, they have it daily from 3pm-6pm. My favorite thing to get is their GF cheese bread. It wasn't fluffy and moist like their other locations, was a little bummed about that. Almost tasted like it was over baked. I also LOVE their pizzas, I got their HH pizza with Portugese sausage. It was perfect from the ratio of the sauce to cheese, not to mention how great their crust was. My BF ordered their GF pasta, the spicy southwestern chipotle. Lunch specials are a good deal: slice of pizza, soup, beverage. Puttanesca pizza was superb! Great combo of ingredients including artichoke and olives, with flavors blending perfectly on a thin crust that did not make me miss gluten at all! The soups we had were Tomato Basil and Italian White Bean w/ Kale. Both tasted bright and fresh, but both were a little heavy on the tomato which overpowered the other ingredients and could have been a little less thick. My tea was too watery but my friend's was fine. The service was attentive and the server answered all our questions thoroughly. The restrooms were clean and the toilet seat had a handy handle the likes of which I've never seen before.This is a very handy location for attending events at Theater Artists Studio so I'll definitely return for the surprisingly delicious pizza! read more

I've lived in the area for nearly a decade and only recently started coming to Picazzo's! I always forget it's an option, but happy to be making it a regular now. Picazzo's offers modern-Italian fare with a few fusion options on their menu. Everything is exceptionally fresh and is able to cater to vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and allergy-friendly diets. They have an full plant-based vegan menu that nearly mirrors the regular menu. While their menu is vast, we have our favorites. My wife and I love to share the Mother Earth salad (the candied walnuts are SO good) and the Elote pizza on a GF crust. Their GF is crust is truly one of the best I've ever had! Their pastas, also all GF, are delicious. My favorite is the "meetball" marinara. Service is always friendly and attentive. Even when it is packed, we rarely have to wait very long to be seated. They do offer outdoor seating, and now that it's cooler, I am excited for that option. The spcae inside is a bit squishy at times, but the atmosphere is laid back and family friendly. Highly recommend this place! Their servers are on top of it, they are attentive and friendly. They always ask if there is any food allergy they should be aware of which I think is thoughtful and proactive. The food is so fresh, I don't think we have ever ordered something that was not tasty here and we have been a couple times now! I always like to start with a spinach artichoke dip, it's so tasty and comes with fresh veggies and their delicious bread. The pizza does not disappoint! The Bianca, one of my favorites, is a creamy pasta full of flavor, and comes in a big portion too so you may even have leftovers! Meatball bolognese is another great dish! eeee yum! what a happy, healthy meal i enjoyed at picazzo's for my birthday! i much prefer this location -- it's so ambient and cozy, especially compared to the louder, more spread out vibe of the north scottsdale one. i enjoyed the vegan mushroom pesto pasta with zoodles and i really appreciate not being up-charged for my plant-based meal or the zoodles. the service was incredibly friendly & attentive, and although there was only one chef in the kitchen at the time i came, i was eying everyone's food and it all looked amazing -- including my own, of course! i'm dying to come back for more! i ordered the same for my omnivore boyfriend, only with regular noodles, and he loved the food from here! to finish it off, i was given a free cheesecake!! it's the first one i've ever tried (as it's vegan) and it was soo nutty and tasty!!! my one note is that i vastly prefer vegetables to grains, and i subbed raw carrots for hummus with my hummus plate. the plate is about as big as my fist and i only got 6 baby carrots to eat it with. every time i asked for more, i was given a little petri dish of exactly 6 baby carrots & charged 1.50 more per each. slightly annoying, but i don't mind because the vegan options are amazing and i sincerely thank you for having options that keep beautiful creatures off our plates. read more

The spinach artichoke dip came hot with crispy bread and veggies on the side. It was possibly the best dish we had. Unfortunately, the pasta and the pizza did not impress us. The pizza dough was nice and fluffy but the toppings were kinda lacking, it felt literally like toppings on a bread. The pasta had so much garlic, it was so hard to finish it, it was super overpowering, we couldn't taste any thing else. The side salad was not great either. It didn't have much flavor at all and was pretty expensive. We understand that this is a healthy restaurant providing options for vegans, gluten free individuals as well as diners who prefer a healthier choice but we were hoping we were going to like the food more, given the great reviews that we've read. I'm not personally vegan but they also have a purely vegan menu, so this would be the best of boat worlds for someone gluten free and vegan. Picazzo's is a place I am glad to have tried, because now I know to never come back. Aside from the food runners, everything about this location was, in my opinion, terrible. When we entered we noticed Picazzo's had a somewhat intimate vibe, which was nice! Then we were greeted by a kind hostess. She took us to our table immediately and wedged us in a tight corner where we were rubbing elbows with another table; super awkward. After too long our server took our drink order, and after way too long he brought finally our drinks. The server was crazy slow. After we finally received our drinks we placed our order. First to arrive was the cheesy bread. It looked perfect but had a taste of the complete opposite! Imagine taking a bite of a week old, dry biscuit covered in cheese; this was Picazzo's cheesy bread. It was so bad that I would have sent it back, except our server was MIA, so I just need up eating it. Followed shortly by the "cheesy bread" came our entrees. The pizza flavor was delicious! We went with the Hot Honey Fig pizza. Again, the flavor was epic, however, it was on the same bread as the "cheesy bread" which ruined the pizza for me. We also order Rigatoni and a kids Mac n' cheese, which were nothing special. As for service, the food runners were awesome. My drink was empty for a while, and without them, I would have only had one drink. Which to me is unacceptable when I'm paying $4.50 for an iced tea. Kids took us here while we were visiting. Since hubby is gf - Italian food has to be the hardest food to find that tastes "normal." The restaurant was nicely decorated (on the smaller side ) and had a nice patio where we ended up sitting. Service was lovely and put up with all of our questions. Ordered several appetizers- food that usually doesn't come in gf options- that was delicious - meatballs, cheese bread and spinach artichoke dip. We the settled into our entrees- hubby got lasagna, the three of us got different pizzas the spicy Calabrian, hot honey fig jam , bbq chicken and the funghi both gf and " normal" and the son got a gf pasta - all delish. The cool thing was that they let us get half and half on the pizza so we tried several on one pizza dough! We did have an issue with ordering a pizza with a substitution and not getting it correctly but it was quickly refired and we left with a brand new Pizza that made for a great next day snack.
