The food, service, and ambiance is great!!! I've come here often for a year now and I'll say this is my favorite restaurant in Richmond! David is so nice, he treats his regulars very well.

Good food and excellent customer service. We loved the flavorful spicy wings appetizer and couldn't get enough of the sauce it was tossed in. We also enjoyed the Eggplant with chicken, Praram Long with chicken, and the Crab Fried Rice. It was nice that each dish came with a little side salad on each plate. Ended our dinner perfectly with the delicious mango sticky rice. The owner Dave was very hospitable. We will be coming back to try other dishes.

We have been to Sala Thai many times- and thought it was time for a review! What we got: Bbq Pork Crispy Shrimp Pad see ew - sub onions and mushrooms (no cabbage or broccoli) Bbq Salmon (forgot the pic of this) As usual- everything was fabulous! We have never had a bad meal here. It is delicious every time! The owner is friendly and funny! And the space is very welcoming! If you are craving delicious Thai food- give Sala a try -you won't be sorry! P.S. I need to come here more often!

Everything is good here, as far as what we have tasted. Had lunch Christmas Eve and it was very satisfying and delicious. Service is great, a little pricey but overall it's worth it. Local neighborhood and we will support them anytime we want fresh rolls and good curry. Atmosphere is good not too crowded so we liked that.

Tom ka soup, green curry, rice and fresh spring rolls.

Friendly service, really good food one of my family's favorites. The restaurant is run by a really sweet family, and we're always greeted with a smile

The host was great and the ambiance was perfect not too loud or quiet. Now, the food was AMAZING, we were surprised of how amazing everything was. Wish the food we ordered would come around the same time but other than that, it was fucking delicious! Would definitely recommend and will be coming back!

Hidden gem in El Sobrante that serves up some of the best Laotian and Thai food in the Bay Area…read more Every time we visit, must-orders are the Nam Khao (crispy rice ball salad with fermented pork sausage and fresh herbs) and Ka Soy (Laotian noodle soup). If you see Nam Khao on the menu of a Laotian/Thai restaurant, that means they know what they are doing just because it's so labor-intensive to make a salad(!) and the fermented pork has to be damn-near perfect for this salad to really shine and round out the fresh herbs and seasonings which includes lime juice, vinegar, and fish sauce. Ka Soy (the noodle soup) is a comfort food enjoyed in Southeast Asia. It's not the Thai-style where it's a curry broth and the noodles are fried, so let's not get it mixed up. Instead, it's bone broth that been simmered for hours and it's somewhat a lighter broth. The noodles are wide rice noodles in a big bowl of hot broth served with a mixture of ground pork cooked down with tomatoes along with fresh bean sprouts, scallions, and cilantro - simply a divine noodle soup that a must-try. It's not overly complex in terms of flavor, but it's a bowl of good ol' noodle soup that is comforting and great-tasting. If you haven't tried Laotian food, give Sue's Kitchen a try. try some new flavors and you may just become a regular (if you aren't already). The owners are friendly too! It's a husband-and-wife team!

My parents came here last year and said the food was good BUT the crab fried rice was fishy so... I decided to just get regular fried rice and chicken wings. I was really looking forward to it since they have such high ratings but boy was I WRONG. My dad even called it, "I don't trust ordering from restaurants within 45minutes of them closing because they like to rush it." Also, "15 minutes seems too quick for them to cook the food" Well yeah my dad was 100000% right! The chicken tasted as if it was cooked then REFRIED. The meat was dry as he**. The skin was too hard and just unpleasant. The fried rice was disgusting. It didn't even taste like fried rice. If anything it had a weird taste and a dash of pepper. My mom said it literally tasted like BENS RICE OUT OF A BOILED BAG! No eggs even were in it! I'm just so pissed because this was supposed to be our dinner after an 8+ hour drive. I will be calling to request a refund since they closed after we received our food back at the hotel. I had to just throw the whole thing away! Yeeeeeucccckkkk

They're really flavorful with a nice spice! I'd love to order the Lao food! The rice sticker with mango is great and sweet! Reminds me of the Vietnamese dessert. The service is sweet and great! They have a deaf daughter. They speak English, Lao, and use some ASL. They cook the Lao food with heart. Please support their business! The owner was there when we entered, and we were able to chat about Thailand and the Lao culture. So friendly and welcoming! Service was quick, efficient, and portions were ample for the lunch specials. We ordered chicken satay to start (comes with a nice helping of peanut sauce and cucumber salad), a pad Thai for the table with tofu, and a few lunch plates including the yellow curry, pad krapow, and spicy eggplant. Everything was packed full of flavor, and they bring a spice/sauce tray out to the table if you need to bring your dish up a notch. The lunch special comes also with a 2-piece appetizer like potstickers, egg rolls, and curry puffs which I thought was a nice touch. Plenty of shopping center adjacent (and free) parking, and wallet friendly. They serve Thai/Laos beer, wine, and a nice dessert menu. Would love to come back and try the Lao's menu including the papaya salad and larb.

I've been frequenting Kao Sarn for almost 3 years now and I have to say I have barely been…read moredisappointed by the food. They have an amazing catalog of dishes that never fail to satisfy me. The restaurant itself is pretty spacious and they are really good at serving multiple people at once. They're very attentive and always make sure you're ok. I usually come during lunch where you get a complimentary salad and rice. The salad has the best dressing! I usually get either the garlic noodles with steak, whole pompano fish, grilled lamb, lamb shank, or their crispy fried chicken. They're all super good. If you're new, I would suggest the garlic noodles with steak (they're super generous with the meat) Their appetizers are also pretty good too. Like I said, I don't think you can order something from here and be disappointed. Love their service. My only gripe is prices have increased quite a bit over the past years but I guess that is every establishment in the Bay.

Champagne made great recommendations when she told us about the delicious fall-off-the bone tender lamb shank in curry sauce (our very 1st time seeing it at a Thai restaurant). we also ordered the ribeye steak over a bed of garlic noodles. the garlic noodles had a lot of garlic flavor and was perfectly cooked, firm and chewy and the ribeye was very flavorful and delicious. Also, the angel wings were beautifully fried and stuffed with a very delicious and flavorful filling. earlier today was our second time here celebrating my hubby's birthday and we also met the friendly owner, Joe. Champagne was there today as well and she remembered us from a month ago. she told us the grilled lamb is delicious and once again she was spot on. we also ordered the garlic noodles with the ribeye steak and had them add prawns as well. omg-sooo yummy! the prawns were huge and perfectly fried and went very well with the great ribeye. we also tried their crispy pork belly with a basil garlic sauce and that was very tasty too. also, highly recommend the very flavorful curry puff for an appetizer. We washed it all down with their very refreshing and tasty Thai ice tea. Now that we've been here twice, I am thrilled to say that this place is consistent in quality and taste. We have def found our favorite Thai restaurant that is very comfortable, spacious, and clean. Thx u Joe for hiring great staff and knowing great Thai food! Can't wait to come back to try more culinary delights!
