You order at the counter and given a number. They shout out numbers which, makes things feel chaotic. Maybe get a little ticket holder flag or something that can sit on the table, especially if to-go orderers are going to sit in dining. Or send a text! I ordered and it took forever to get my food. They are a busy place. It was good, but definitely overpriced for a piece of catfish, grits and 4 shrimp. I added the shrimp to determine which I'd like more. It's the fish... do the fish and grits! Don't be hardheaded! ;) Hmmm... food is good, but very overpriced for the portion and experience.

This place has a charming old-timey diner feel--homey, cozy, and full of personality. It's clear the locals love it, and for good reason. I had the fried catfish and shrimp & grits with a pancake on the side--everything was seasoned to perfection and felt like true Southern comfort food. My folks ordered the Bartlett Breakfast with a side of fish and grits and the rest got shrimp and grits. We also tried the sunset lemonade, which was delicious and refreshing. The service was warm and friendly, just like you'd expect from a neighborhood gem. My only critique is that the space is on the smaller side. They're clearly well-loved and could definitely use a bigger location to accommodate their growing fan base. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a real, down-to-earth breakfast spot with amazing food and welcoming vibes.

When we first pulled up, the line was out the door, so we knew it was good. We waited maybe about 15 minutes, and then we were let inside where we placed our order at the countertop. The menu is pretty big, so there were lots of options to pick from. I got the rooster, a fried chicken sandwich, and others got the kitchen sink plate with a Bloody Mary. After you placed your order, you found an open table. All of the tables were clean and accessible. I loved the vibe! Very up beat breakfast theme. Soon after we got a table, our food arrived. It was hot, fresh, and delicious! We all basically licked our plates clean lol. After they drop off your food, there is no 'service' so you do have to get everything yourself. But, I loved this actually since it was casual and it gave you an opportunity to get up and explore a tad bit. When we were done, the 'server' took our plates and we were out the door. The line outside kept steady! But, I see why! It was a great way to start the day.

I ordered the "Kitchen Sink" along with a side of biscuits and gravy, and everything was outstanding. The biscuits were fresh, fluffy, and easily some of the best I've ever had. The bacon was thick-cut, salty, crispy, and cooked perfectly. Every bite was excellent. I got takeout, so I can't really comment on the atmosphere or service, but the food alone was enough to impress me. I'm only in Memphis for two days, and this place was so good I'm already planning to come back tomorrow to try the breakfast tacos. Highly recommend if you're looking for an amazing breakfast spot in Memphis.

Like you're at your grammas house but she's trendy and loves antiquing for quality items. *The staff is super kind. *The menu isn't overwhelming and super easy to navigate! *The parking is plentiful despite how small it looks. There is additional parking around the side! *Tons of varied seating options for all tastes - couches, plush chairs, outside chairs and tables on the covered porch (with fans!), tables and chairs inside. *They have a points system to sign up for which seems like a great deal! On this trip I tried a seasonal drink - their Banana Bread Latte - and it was divine. I opted to drink it there and the cup and saucer were such a nice touch!!! (Though to go was also an option) All in all, a great drink and a wonderful experience. The size of the drink was worth the cost. I will be back.

My sandwich was very good! $10 is pretty fair for what I got. I loved the sauce, the meat was also really good. The tater salad was AMAZING! The meal was a solid 9/10 If you're in Memphis and you want some good BBQ made with heart and soul, then you should try Elwood's. The only thing missing from my meal that would've completed it for me was some hot buttery cornbread. I'll certainly be back to try their ribs and other foods!

I took the advice, and I'm really glad I did. It was fantastic--stacked with pulled pork, smoked sausage, and beef brisket, all topped with slaw and BBQ sauce on a bun. I also tried a bite of the barbecue bologna, which is a thick-cut slice served on white bread, and that didn't disappoint either. Inside gets pretty smoky, so you'll probably prefer sitting outside. Luckily, there are plenty of picnic tables and seating areas to choose from. I didn't catch the name of the guy who helped me, but he was friendly, energetic, and made the whole experience even better. Overall, a really enjoyable visit.
