Ordered a chopped salad. The person making it filled a bowl with the ingredients and then went into the back room. That should have been my signal to run. She emerged 5 minutes later with my salad. Ignoring my better judgement, I decided to eat it. It's only a salad afterall. I will tell you this...ALWAYS TRUST YOUR INSTINCTS. About an hour after eating this back alley veggie mash-up, I had the worst stomach ache. This was soon followed by the most violent diarrhea i have experienced since those mornings in college after a long night of beer pong and a late nite visit to T Bell. Seriously...my body didn't even attempt to break it down. There were whole peices of lettuce floating in the bowl. I used a half roll of TP. I am a salad lover therefore I love Salad Farm. It's kind of out in the boonies but it's a well-worth-it salad. You can either choose from their extensive list of salads they've put together OR make your own salad. I prefer making my own because you could make crazy salad concoctions you wouldn't otherwise try elsewhere. They've got every salad ingredient you could imagine- feta cheese, almonds, avocado, madarin oranges, taco meat, bell peppers, raisins, oat bran, sunflower seeds, shrimp, wonton crisps, etc.etc., plus they've got 13 kinds of dressings to choose from. Everything's fresh and their portions are HUGE! I could make one order into 2.5 meals. Custom made salads right before your eyes. I've been here several times, and always had a good experience until one day I ordered a Cobb Salad and they tossed it. That kinda miffed me. I discovered this place because it's not far from my workplace! I was really happy to find it because most of the food places in this area aren't very healthy. I've been twice and both times ordered the Chicken Fajita Salad. Super delicious. Plenty of parking. It's been empty both times I went...but my lunch hour is at 10 am so no trouble there. Downside: service is a little slow. To be the only person in there, I feel like I'm waiting a long time. Prices are a little on the expensive side but the salad you get is HUGE. I ordered a fajita steak salad not realizing that it doesn't come with cheese, WTF why wouldn't a fajita steak salad come with cheese? My coworkers and I ordered three taco salads in a taco shell with carne asada and panini with mozzarella cheese, tomato, ham, and lettuce. We received three salads w ground taco meat, salsa, on a bed of chips with un ripened avocado . It was disgusting. And the panini came with Swiss cheese and no lettuce. Very disappointing. We called to notify the manager of all of the mess ups and cut corners in out order and received no customer service. I do not recommend this place to anyone. First experience here today and it was really bad. The ladies working here are too busy talking to eachother instead of trying to give the best customer service. They charged me for sandwich I asked for but didn't make it? And then they said I didn't ask for it. Well if I didn't ask for it, why charge me? I always "make my own salad" but for a while I was hooked on The Salmon Salad which comes with a freshly grilled piece of fish...Yum! The portions are large and fairly priced. I love salads and this place is walking distance from work so it's perfect! I love the health protein salad since I'm vegetarian it's a great source of protein. I love how clean this place is. The fast service and everything under $10. If you go from 11:30-12:30 expect to wait five minutes in line. I've been to the location in LA Figueroa and 21st I think and its much bigger but the service and quality is not the same and it's a little messy there. I love it here. Only been here once and I will most likely not be back. The prices are pretty high considering some of the quality of food and customer service. I walk in and make line behind two ppl, their order seems to go by fast. A different lady helps me out, I tell her what I want. I specially say no onions and that was the first thing she was going to put in my salad. She touched the onions wth her glove and put them back down and finished grabbing the ingredients. I am allergic to several types of food, fortunately for her I am not allergic to onion otherwise I would have made a big deal about cross contamination. All the food is in a food line style of service. She didn't even give me the right dressing for my salad. I guess while she's waiting for my salmon, she goes to the restroom without telling me anything. A different lady rings me up not even knowing what she is suppose to charge me for. I wait literally ten minutes after paying for my salad. Even tho I went during lunch hour, ten minute PLUS wait for a salad is a little long. The lady that rang me up was very unprofessional and impolite, no sense of good or even decent customer service. The other guy, I'm guessing the owner did not acknowledge me once. When I got home and ate my salad, the salmon was dry and burnt. I only used lemon as dressing since they gave me the wrong kind. The salad honestly tasted like chaos. Usually ingredients in your food should go together well or compliment each other, but it just kind of tasted like a little kid put all these ingredients in as an experiment. The pita bread was okay but I seen the guy constantly microwaving it, which is a huge turn off considering I don't want a bunch of radiation in my system. And considering that I got a salad, it did not feel healthy what so ever. I know this place has been here awhile now, but they still need a whole lot of improvement. Awesome place to get a fresh salad, any type of salad! My favorite is the Spinach and chicken salad with a dash of honey mustard! They also have great sandwiches and soups! The prices are a bit high but you get what you pay for! This is a wonderful place for awesome food. The portions are huge and worth the price! I took the time to write a review of this awful new place up the street and decided I needed to give some well deserved props to Salad Farm. This is the only place that in three years of working in this area I have gone to with any sort of consistency. The food is good and fresh. Even when it is slammed during lunch (and it always is because I am certainly not the only one who values this place) they get your stuff to you quickly . The staff is nice. The person who I believe to be the owner is nice and you can see that he treats his staff well. Not many fast food places have the a lot of the same staff for three years as they have had I am guessing. Chinese chicken salad was really really good! I am super picky about my food, specially about my chicken. I just loved the salad. The parking lot is small and packed with cars but I was able to find parking right away. The place is small so it does get a little hectic in there but I think it's worth it. The employees need to work on faster food flow but they aren't rude at all. Everything looks fresh and this is a great place if your'e watching what you eat. Who is the new ass-clown that's managing? The little sweet guy was the best, and the new manager's got this new policy of not taking credit cards over the phone without the card itself. My company has a lot of clients who give us a credit card number to buy us lunch. Sometimes these people are all the way in NYC. So that new policy is fine (we'll take our business elsewhere and they can lose a decent $40 order we used to put in every other week), but don't tell me this "new policy" when I show up to pick up the order, and I know you've already charged the card. So he voids the client's card, and I had to pay for my whole office's lunch on MY credit card. The jerk manager wasn't even apologetic, nor did he offer any kind of discount since the girl who took the order did not inform me of the new policy. Bad customer relations!!! I used to go here once a week, but now I'm in TOTAL BOYCOTT mode. If you want something healthy to eat this is a great place to go. They have several choices of salads and dressings that all sound really good as well as panini sandwiches. If you go with someone try splitting a salad, as they're fairly large portions, and sandwich that way you get to try both. They're also very accommodating if you want to change the salads a bit. There is no hostess, you just go straight to the counter and order off the menu on the wall. The place is a little average, it's not particularly fancy looking inside but its good enough. I work in Huntington Park, where lunch options range from franchised fast food, to mom and pop fast food, chinese restaurants, teriyaki restaruants, mexican food restaurants but not many HEALTHY options. So as soon as I found this place I was certain this would be my go to place........parking is always an issue but I was willing to overlook that. My first experience was ok, I don't remember what I got but I know it was good because I went back two days later. The wait my second time was about 10-15 minutes to actually have someone take my order, after they did it took another 10-20 minutes to prepare my salad. I thought maybe the long wait time had to do with the girl having to re-stock their ingredient counter so I didn't bother too much. I thought it was coincidence she happened to run out of everything for my order......turns out that no, they are fully stocked and ready to go for the 12pm lunch crowd but as soon as they are done with that the ingredients run out they don't re-stock....they use what they have and if they need to get a hanfull of let's say spinach they go to their back kitchen get a handfull bring all the way to their prep counter and continue, if they find that they are missing something else then they stop and get what they need and come back. Needless to say this is something that happens often......very often. Wait time is ridiculous, mind you I take my lunch break after 1. sometimes I'm there aroun 130 pm. I may be the only person in line but I cannot seem to make a quick trip to salad farm. it's always a 30-40 min trip!! and that does not include eating my salad. They have a wide range of food, there is something different to try everyday, if you have the time............ and the worst of all food is thrown everywhere in their ingredient counter. it's messy.. and makes me want to turn around and run, how often do they clean it? read more
