Ahhhhh I finally got to try a viral/trendy place to eat in LA. This sandwich was so so worth it!…read moreThe price is seemingly alot but you get 2 regular sized sandos in one. I got the #1 bestseller and it did NOT disappoint. I can see why someone wouldn't like it because it is rather plain but I prefer plain sandwiches myself. I like the ingredients to speak for themselves and not be coated in extra sugar or salt. I'm also a big fan of pistachio, the amount they put on is not for the faint of heart... hehe This place is clean, the line is efficient and friendly. I recommend stopping by. I came here as recommendation from Joshua Weissman's YT video of trying LA foods.

This location on Wilshire Blvd in Koreatown is the smallest of the three I've visited, with under 10 seats available. It's a compact shop, and most customers opt for takeout. It's a narrow shop, and most customers take their orders to-go. I've previously enjoyed the La Paradiso and La Toscana, with the La Paradiso being my personal favorite. For our first visit with our son, we asked the staff for recommendations, and they suggested either the Venice Beach (Turkey) or the New Yorker (Roast Beef). The staff was incredibly generous, offering a roast beef sample, which our son loved! We also appreciated them providing ice and straws for our water. We ordered the New Yorker ($19.00) with roast beef, porcini cream, tomato, and arugula. The sandwich was thoughtfully cut in half, perfect for sharing. The schiacciata bread boasts a crispy exterior and a soft, chewy interior, which beautifully complements the meats and cheeses. We opted to substitute the porcini cream for mozzarella, which was sliced into perfect bite-sized pieces and tasted incredibly fresh. The roast beef was thinly sliced and tender, the tomatoes were fresh and sliced to perfection, and the arugula added a delightful peppery crunch. It's a well-balanced sandwich and one of the best in LA. We would definitely order it again. A big thank you to the female staff member who expertly cut the meat and offered samples, assisting us in making the perfect choice for my son's sandwich. This experience was truly a positive one for our family. I would definitely return to AAV for the excellent food and service. Given the small size of the shop, takeout is recommended, especially during peak hours. The sandwiches at AAV are so good! Fuggedaboutit!

This place is absolutely amazing and definitely a must-try if you're in the area. Even if you're not, it's worth the trip. Everything we tried was delicious, and the espresso drinks were delightful-- not too sweet, just the right balance. We've actually been back three times since our first visit, and the experience has been amazing every time. The staff is super friendly and helpful, which makes the experience even better. The location might surprise you. This gem is tucked away in a somewhat random location, with no real storefront, in a small downtown-style corridor. The seating area is next door, which is also a little unexpected, but it's very cute and nicely done. The food has bold, explosive flavors and is truly something different. Everything we've tried has been delicious and memorable. Even though I live about 45 minutes away, I'll definitely be coming back with friends and family. This is one of those places I'm happy to make the drive for.

I never really thought much of cafe food anyway... until I had the Chimi Sando. Jesus Christ. That sandwich was sooooo good. Being 34 weeks pregnant now has completely thrown off my taste buds, and I've been telling Michaela, the co-owner, that I don't even recognize myself anymore. I don't know what I like, and I can't do the super sugary coffees I used to get from other places anymore. She recommended some beans and cold brews based on what I was looking for, and every single recommendation was so good. Michaela is just awesome. You can tell when someone genuinely cares about what they're creating and the experience they're giving people. She even surprised me and my husband with some complimentary tostadas, I honestly don't know exactly what was on them, but whatever it was...was soooo good! The whole experience was just so good, great coffee, great food, great people, and such a welcoming vibe. Ulew was already one of my favorite coffee spots, but now knowing the person behind it makes me love it even more. Anyway...I came for coffee and left realizing that they can continue to take my money.

Word to the wise, if you somehow end up going to this Jersey Mike's and ask for ANY extra meat please KNOW THIS, although the sandwich tech will say "there is an extra charge for extra meat" just know they do not openly tell you what the extra fee will be. MAKE SURE TO ASK; I did not. I assumed it was like other sandwiches places $2-$3 extra. I was absolutely wrong; $5.59 is the extra fee. That is pretty much another sandwich. The last photo is what they are considering extra meat. Please look at the photo's I posted to see exactly what you will receive for $41.09 from this Jersey Mike's Subs (sandwiches; NOT steak or lobster. A SANDWICH. A $41 sandwich kids. a S A N D W I C H). 1 sandwich 1 small bag of lays chips 1 brownie 1 small Gatorade Total= $41.09 and I gave a $3 because I absolutely did not realize I was being charged $41.09 for basically a sack lunch. So $44.09 in total. Jersey Mike's, I should have stuck to my guns and kept the promise I made to myself a few years ago when I said, I would never go back to Jersey Mike's. I guess I can say this is my fault. I'm actually kind of glad that I went there tonight because I have a Production on Monday and I was going to have the Production Cordinator order a few platters of sandwiches, chips, and drinks for the crews first meal from this Jersey Mike's. Talk about a close one! We have a nice budget for crafty, first and second meal (if we roll into second meal) but with this stores non-upfront disclosure on pricing for certain things, they may take too much of the production budget and we'll be forced to film on phones or use flipbooks!

Anyhow, my family and I were driving back home after participating in a hiring event for my son (first paid job -- so proud of him!) We were all hungry and since we were in a part of town we had not been to before did a quick search. Decided on "The Neighborhood Cafe" and headed over! We were greeted by " The Los Angeles Gentlmen" motorcycle club -- couldn't have been nicer! Then we walked in and were greeted warmly by the owner and his daughter, Cheryl. We were immediately seated and made comfortable. Cheryl took our orders and could not have been nicer/friendlier. Very spacious and cute atmosphere. Ordered and after a little bit of a wait (Due to food made to order BTW!) I had the absolute best chicken and waffles ever. IT WAS A 1/2 CHICKEN seasoned to perfection -- flavorful and juicy! The waffle was clearly homemade and also flavorful. The hot honey was a sweet/spicy welcome addition. My family also REALLY enjoyed their dishes!! We live on the westside so we will not be able to get over as often as we would like :( BUT I work near downtown so I can see me grabbing take home every once and awhile! I was just telling my wife I want to go back and get that again!! :) :) :) For those of you visiting the area looking for delicious food and a wonderful atmosphere, I highly recommend "The Neighborhood Cafe". For those of you who live in the area either go or go BACK and support this gem!
