I order from Salad House at least once a week on UberEats. I ordered it on a whim once, wanting a fresh/healthy meal I didn't have to cook & I've loved it since. I get the buffalo chicken wrap every time. I don't personally use the Caesar dressing, bc I love the wrap exactly how it comes. I've always had it arrive fresh, which is probably why I have yet to actually visit the restaurant in person! I love wraps that don't have fried chicken so that I feel somewhat healthy & this one does exactly that. came here after a workout because i thought rey had fresh juices. they do, but it's just orange juice. the build your own salads start at $9 and you can choose many ingredients from mushrooms to carrots to corn to cranberries, etc. the veggies look really fresh and you can choose a base of spinach or romaine or a mix spring salad. and it's A LOT of lettuce. where things started to fall apart was in the portions of the veggies the woman put on top of the greens. she literally put a fork full of each vegetable i requested on top of a heap of the lettuce i selected. it was so little i had to ask why it was such a small portion. she looked at me like i should be happy to pay $9 for only leaves. she begrudgingly added more of my selected toppings to round out my "salad". i then asked for the orange juice. $3.25. another woman walked out with 10oz styrofoam cup of OJ. really? i can get a pint of fresh orange juice at mariano's for $2.99. and i will next time. the juice was cold and delicious, the veggies were fresh, and the establishment was clean and bright. the ladies that work there were polite as well. but the portions were way too stingy for the price for me to return. read more

I've walked past it many times and, craving a salad, I decided to try this place out. I was surprised at how spacious it is inside because it looks cramped when passing by. I ordered the Signature Cobb Salad and it was just as good as I'd hoped. I watched her spoon the avocado from the rind in front of me and toss the concoction in dressing. Easily one of my favorite places to eat in Chicago. Luckily, I live right down the street! You can get a mean helping of a delicious (and fresh!) salad for around $9.00. Plus, you get a free roll and if you dine-in your fountain soda is free (SAY WHAT?!?!). This place is amazing! I ordered through Eat24 and I had their Cobb Salad delivered to me 4 days in a row! I don't understand why people are complaining about the portions because the portions are HUGE! I ate some for lunch and saved the rest as an appetizer for dinner. The people complaining need to better understand portion sizing. That problem might be the reason why they have to eat salads in the first place and complaining that they don't have enough chicken and bacon on it. Lol. Visited this establishment for the first time. The fresh ingredients were of your typically variety; olives, tomatoes, feta, chicken, bacon, etc. The worker was kind enough, and it was nice that they don't put a limit on how many ingredients you can add (that i saw of) and that the roll was not an additional charge. What I am not happy about was the . . . . (1) the protein is not cooked right there. The chicken was obviously cooked in a factory somewhere and shipped over. It reminded me of tyson already cooked and sliced chicken. Far from fresh chicken cooked that day. (2) there were no exotic/fun options to add to your salad. And by that i mean just certain things were not there. i.e.- steak, goat cheese, cherries, etc (3) the lettuce portion was fairly skimpy for a $9 salad. Id guess about 3 oz portion. (4) I also would suggest more dressing options. Such as a spicy ranch, a red wine vinaigrette, and a fresh lemon juice option. All and all it was ok, and I probably would visit again. We've been searching for a quality salad place for a while now. Unfortunately, this isn't it. We tried a wrap, salad, and a baked potato. The wrap was okay, but the chicken used is super processed. Not fresh at all. The salad was even less impressing. The ingredients looked like they were chopped by a two year old. huge chunks, uneven, not good. I'm pretty sure the cheese in the salad was craft singles stacked and chopped. We tried four dressings, only the balsamic vinaigrette was something I'd eat again. Baked potatoes are pretty difficult to mess up and this one was ok. Really odd that they chop it up though. They offer a lot of weird toppings, apples, strawberries, etc. but not many normal ones. It should not EVER take 20 minutes to make a mediocre sandwich. Good god, woman! Did you have to slaughter a turkey and wait for the bread to rise? Because this is next door to my friend's place, we decided to give it a try. Even the low prices and convenience couldn't get me to go back again. I waited, captive, for 25 minutes while they stood around, chatting, handling food with no gloves, handling money, handling food some MORE with no gloves, etc. until they finally decided to free up the 30 seconds it actually takes to make a sandwich. By the time it arrived, I was starving and, yet, I still was barely able to eat half because the turkey was dry, there was almost no mayo on mine (and almost no hummus on my friend's...who ordered the HUMMUS SANDWICH), the veggies were limp and it was just all around unremarkable. I love to eat/shop local, but not if it is really, really bad. Also, the whole place was dirty with messy chairs, uneven tables, stains all over and nothing stocked/refilled (empty water dispenser, 2 bags of chips left, napkins strewed on the counter, etc.). Please spare yourself and if you really just don't have that much time, go to Subway. Alternately, Chipotle is across the street. read more

So, I ordered from this place via Grubhub. I had not heard a lot about it other than my boyfriend visiting once a week. After waiting a ridiculously long time for our order to arrive, we were finally eating about an hour and a half later. Apart from being slightly annoyed with the long wait (Im really easygoing), I LOVED my salad. I guess the best way to describe it would be to say that they made it the way I would have made it for myself. I will definitely be ordering from them again in the near future. Amazing! Really good price for a giant delicious salad that you can create yourself! You're meant to load the salad up with veggies, so yes the lettuce seems skimpy at first if that's all you get, but it's really so there's enough room for all the toppings! I got lettuce, diced turkey, tomato, cucumber, red onion, corn, croutons, mushrooms, scallions, red peppers, feta cheese, avocado (.75) and ranch and it was perfect. Wraps come with a bag of chips; salads come with bread and butter! Really great place with very fresh ingredients at a good price. Wow!! can I just say this was an incredible first experience here. I have lived in lakeview for 3 years now, and have walked by this place dozens of times, but never stopped in. Tonight I was feeling like something light and healthy for dinner and decided to check this place out. First of all the employee who helped me was so friendly and made some very good suggestions. This is basically a build your own salad place, but they do have paninis and different types of sandwiches on the menu, like wraps. I opted to try the salad out. You first get to pick what types of greens you want, then they have an entire choice of all kinds of vegetables, meats, cheeses, dressings...the works!!!! The dressing was incredible as well, I had an avocado dill dressing.....delicious! This is definitely going to be one of my summer time hang outs!!! read more

Disappointment at its finest. I was pretty excited to try out a build your own sandwich until I got home and it was a sandwich I definitely didn't build. I ordered a crispy chicken sandwich. The chicken was not crispy at all it was soggy and not fresh. I could tell the chicken was reheated. Reheated breaded chicken means soggy breaded chicken. Also Salad house should consider a different container for fries. My fries were soggy also, the carton was wet from the heat of the fries, which in turn made the fries soggy. read more

I'm used to going to Mariano's salad bar and creating my own but was getting tired of doing the usual same old thing. A friend recommended I try Salad House. I was very pleased with my experience. I happened to be the only customer at the time, around 8:00p.m., and I of course received some great customer service. I tried the Santa Fe Salad and enjoyed the combination of their ingredients. I even added some jalapeños to it and highly recommend that for an extra kick. The service was speedy, and the portion was HUGE. I couldn't believe the size of my salad. Their prices are different in the store vs. online, $1 cheaper. I really liked that they proportioned all the ingredients so there wasn't too much or too little of one thing, which I sometimes do making my own salads. I would like to know about the nutrition information there. It would be nice to know how much I actually consumed.
