Ordered today. Got the thai crunch wrap. There was only shrimp in like half of the wrap. Even the part that had shrimp was soo skimpy. It was almost all lettuce. I honestly could not believe what it was for the price. It probably would have been good if it was not almost all dry lettuce. read more

It was delivered without an issue, HOWEVER, there was barely any chicken, no buffalo sauce, no blue cheese dressing, and mounds of lettuce. I then drove to the location to show them the sandwich that clearly did not meet my standards and was told by a rude employee at the register there was nothing he could do about it. And if I wanted a refund to take it up with DoorDash. even though the issue was not with delivery but the quality of the wrap. Disappointed in the food and service. read more

I'm a fan! My staff ordered lunch from here last week, and I was skeptical because "healthy" generally means "lots of carbs" and "nothing I want to eat" -- but the salads and wraps are delicious, and really are healthy! Even my wife, who is very picky about such things, gives her stamp of approval. What a change from the fattening stuff that usually comes through our office. I recommend the fall harvest salad and the mediterranean salad. I hope lots of people patronize this place, because we need more like it, serving good lunches at reasonable prices. read more

I love crab legs. I need to stress that before I continue. I turned down CRAB LEGS because I had an absolutely deli salad from this place (through Uber Eats). So, since I was in town today, I Thought I'd treat myself to another salad instead of getting seafood. But the wholly unpleasant young lady at the register seemed completely uninterested and downright bothered with answering any questions about the ingredients in your salad dressings. Small place with a good menu of tailored sales or you can choose your salad ingredients by filling out a card. They have sandwiches as well. I enjoyed my salad (came with walnuts, apples, cranberries) and the falafel bites. My wife got a specify chicken sandwich which with pepper jack they she enjoyed. I have been to the location is Morristown and never had a problem. My office has ordered from here probably 20x and ALL 20x there has been an issue ranging from forgetting the drinks to actually giving us the wrong salads, to missing key ingredients like shrimp salad missing the shrimp ..... I know, I know, why do we keep going back for more? I have no answer. Maybe to try and support a local restaurant and give them a chance? And let me be clear this place is VERY expensive. An average salad if you add anything extra is minimum $15 and a 12 oz smoothie is $8. Worst part is I am met with almost annoyance when I call. I am rushed and told "okay" .. Okay? What does that mean? NEVER once have I heard I am so sorry (well that is actually not true 1x the owner delivered the remade salads .. however the remade salads were STILL WRONG, can you imagine? And I called and left 2 message including one on his cell phone because he called me from there when he was delivering and NEITHER CALL WAS RETURNED). Anyway, never am I told we are so sorry, your next lunch is on the house. Or, hey let me bring the shrimp for your shrimp salad? The PERFECT option for catering. We hosted an event for 60 people (adults and kids) and wanted to serve fresh salads and wraps/sandwiches for lunch. We stumbled upon The Salad House and the menu looked like exactly what we had in mind. Jared, the owner, was so helpful and accommodating. He knew exactly how much food we needed and got it 100% right - he even told us to get half the amount of salad we had been planning to order. We got four half trays of salad and 60 wraps/sandwiches. Jared put each type of sandwich on its own platter and labeled everything - and for each, he made both sandwiches and wraps, which was so nice because everyone likes something different! We had been planning to pick everything up because we thought delivery wasn't an option on a Sunday, but Jared offered to drop it off himself - drove 40 minutes and set everything up, including serving platters and utensils and everything we needed. He even got to the restaurant early to make everything for us that morning. The food was all delicious and served beautifully. Our guests are still raving about it. We can't recommend The Salad House highly enough! read more

Totally fucked up my order, gave me the entirely wrong meal, told me they would remake it, waited a half hour then told me I had to call grub hub, which I did, then refused to redeliver it because it was "outside their delivery radius" (then why did you deliver it the first time? And why was it on my list of options I can order from?) (TL/DR: DO IT!) The owner, Mr. Cioffi, is the person that came to a chat room to announce the opening. He's the kind of person you want to root for: enthusiastic, above board and personable. So, last week, we ordered. I'm NOT a salad person (although my wife absolutely adores a great salad) and I had trepidation ordering something that seemed like an also-ran on the menu. But, I trusted the owner's advice. I can't tell you how glad I am that we did. Let's start with the star of the show -- the salad. When you order from a place that has salad in the name of the restaurant, you expect it to be as good as it gets; it didn't let us down. My wife got the Seasonal Special! Oh My Gourd, with the kale and the walnuts and the goat cheese... it was, according to her, spectacular. "Now THAT is a salad", she affirmed. I had the Crispy Mutha Clucka (ya gotta love the names) without the lettuce and onions, and the chicken was as good or better than what you'd get at a place that specializes in chicken. Excellent dish overall. We also got the sweet potato fries, which were good, not great -- I don't think they survived the delivery trip very well temperature-wise. Warmed up, they were good. My wife also got the truffle fries, which I did not try because of allergies, but she did enjoy them. There are so many great things on the menu, and we are really looking forward to trying them all (especially, someday, in person... when we are all set free from COVID capture). We ordered for lunch today and were thoroughly impressed. Delivery came ahead of schedule but more importantly the food was very very good. Caesar salad was so good even my 4 year old daughter was eating it. Fried shrimp and chicken wraps were delicious as was the zucchini fries. Hummus was really good, very fresh. I was beyond excited to hear Montclair was getting a much-needed salad place. I thought this was going to be my new go-to "fast & healthy" place but instead I am left disappointed. My first visit (the week it opened) I got the Fiesta Chx salad. I came home and opened to find it had no chicken. Fine, mistakes happen (especially the first week), I called and they gave me a refund. Pleased with the customer service. But beyond that, the lettuce was soggy and the dressing just tasted like mayo. It's not an exaggeration to say it's probably the worst salad I've ever had from a salad restaurant. 1 star for visit #1. Fast forward to today, I tried again. This time I got the "crispy mutha clucka" wrap and my partner created her own salad. The wrap was fine but truly nothing special, especially for $11. I tried her salad and it was just as soggy as the first one I had. At least they didn't forget my chicken this time. 3 stars for visit #2. I want to like this place but I can't. The quality simply just isn't there. If you're expecting a Sweetgreen or a Chopt, you're going to be sorely disappointed. Much closer in quality to Panera or Saladworks, though to be honest I think I prefer their salads to Salad House. I may go back and try some more non-salad foods but wouldn't say I'm eager. read more

I love that you can mix and match whatever "ingredients" you choose, and the selection is amazing, including many various salad dressings, cheeses, proteins/meat/fish, etc. Today I tried the hummus platter along with my salad, and it too was great tasting, fresh, appealing both to the eyes and palate ... sooo good! We needed one of them to be gluten free due to a food allergy, and they said, "let us see if we can get a driver to bring the correct order." And of course, that was wishful thinking and most likely a lie on their end because as it had turned out, they were closing in 20 mins. They didn't want to have to deal with my order again. As if they were going to go out of their way to do the right thing and bring us what I paid for and correct THEIR mistake. Instead, as I absolutely expected, they told me "sorry, we can't find a driver, take it up with Uber eats and they will refund you." As if that helps my situation. I waited 45 minutes for a delivery of food one of us can't eat. How does a place take an electronic order, that says what it is in black and white, and then send something completely different? And one person ended up not being able to eat because of this mistake that they even refused to rectify. I was really looking forward to the new salad shop opening on my street especially as I am working from home and I totally understand that they have just opened however I was disappointed when I saw the young man preparing my salad, stop in the middle of preparing my salad and walk downstairs to the basement touching the banister with his gloves only to return and resume touch food with the same gloves. Luckily I asked him to change his gloves and give me a different handful of toppings (vs the handful touched by the other gloves). The gentleman at the register then goes on to say "we get tested regularly for covid" which as nothing to do with gloves touching a basement banister then touching food.
