I read all these reviews about "J" being a good server, and there is no exaggerating about her at all. She greeted me like she knew me when I walked in, and it just continued the whole meal. Lots of seating inside, and a great patio area outside. Comfortable seating for a party of two, and lots of room for larger groups and families. The menu was small but full of really amazing sounding flavors. I'd call it a mixture of Asian-fusion take on some traditional foods. My friend and I shared some Tuna Poke and KFC Bao Buns--yum!! I wanted a sake that wasn't too sweet and asked J for her recommendation. The very unique Matcha Sake was perfect!! Wish I didn't have y buy the bottle, but glad to take it home too. For entrees, my friend ordered the Bibimbap with Beef in the hot stone bowl (+$), and I tried the Garlic Noodles with shrimp (adding mushrooms and spinach for some veggies+$). Both were UH-mazing! Met here for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Our server J was nice and quick to make sure we had everything. Ordered pan fried gyoza to start, which were fine. Had a bulgogi bento box (which came with gyoza) so had even more than we thought, and also ordered the Big Kim burger (sauce on the side). Bento box had the usual variety and tasted quite good, and the burger was also very tasty. Thankfully I ordered the kimchi mayo on the side, as I didn't like it. I've been driving past this place for years and I finally had a chance to enjoy some dinner at Salaryman in Toca Hills and I was completely blown away. I decided to try the brussels sprouts and the Bulgogi quesadilla and I was surprised how delicious food was. The server was very, nice and the atmosphere was like a quick casual sport bar. I loved the restaurant and the vibe was very good and food came out really really quickly and it was fresh and hot and flavorful. Imagine walking into this place on a very hot sunny day, only to be half greeted by the staff, & them not having the AC working ( they did have the ceiling fans on). My friend & I decided to sit at the bar, & the bartender was unpleasant, unprofessional & had a weird disposition about himself. We had to ask for water twice, & he never came back after making our drinks to check on us or ask if we wanted to order food. However he chose to walk to the front of the restaurant (which is quite small) & start eating (smh). So I can't even rate the food bc I didn't get a chance to even be asked what we wanted to eat. We even had to ask another person for our ticket when it was time to leave. As far as the drinks, I would say they are extremely overpriced. I ordered a glass of rosè which was $15 & it was a very small pour. Overall, I did not like this place & would. It recommend based on my experience. Came here on a whim for some ramen and wings on a Tuesday night. It wasn't crowded and I was seated promptly. The feel of the Salaryman is homey and very welcoming! My server gave me a few recommendations and I went with Duck Heaven Shoyu ramen and their classic Korean Fried Chicken Wings. The food came out about 5 minutes later. I've had a lot of ramen in my days and while this bowl of ramen was delicious, it wasn't anything spectacular that would make me take a 30 minute drive just for another bowl (I've done this many, many times for good ramen). The broth fell flat for me and it wasn't packed with a ton of flavor, in my opinion. The duck confit obviously was the star of the show and it did not disappoint! It has lychee, aperol, hibiscus, lemon, and sparkling wine. I was not very thrilled with it and just decided on ginger ale instead. We ordered Korean fried chicken wings for the table. They were almost every yummy adjective you could think of! Juicy, crispy, flavorful, fresh, saucy, all of it! I think I've dreamt about those wings at least once. I normally have no trouble picking what I want from a menu but everything looked so good. I was stuck between a few items, but finally decided on the duck heaven shoyu ramen. It was excellent. I like the Korean Housewives Group, love their bao sandwiches, but sadly I haven't had ramen that's good. I was really excited to try the hangover ramen. I intended to get it to go, but was informed this is the only ramen that you can't to go. The bartender says it was bc they make it fresh. Ok fine, I ordered it dine-in & ate some there. I think the main issue for me is that I've had ramen with better broth. This broth was comparable to ramen noodle packs. The pork belly was just regular chashu pork that comes with the tonkotsu, I was expecting something different. It was spicy from the kimchi, which would have been better complimented if the broth was flavorful. I wouldn't count this place out, as there seems to be other menu items that sound good. Came here for dinner with the family, it's been on my list for quite some time to checkout. We were seated relatively quickly since we came on a Thursday evening. A great asian American fusion place. Price is moderate for the Toco Hills area and the dishes are packed with flavors. Ordered the Bulgogi pizza, bo sam, tonkotsu ramen, Korean wings and Hamachi. I liked them all but the pizza had a tad too much sweetness to its spicy red sauce. This sauce I get is supposed to have some sweetness to it but it was a little too ambitious and complex, making a simple beautiful tasting pizza too complex. Would recommend dialing back on sugar on their sauce- if you don't like a sweet spicy sauce, then wouldn't get the bulgogi pizza. Bo Ssam is the pork belly with lettuce- a good quality belly that Melts in your mouth. A sure crowd pleaser Ramen was well done- good char stew with well done noodles that weren't too rubbery and flavor of soup was filled with umami and good with flavor. The ambiance and service were great and this location is amazing with ample parking in Toco Hills. It's between the package store and Wendy's. Brussel Sprouts- crispy and good combo of flavors. The go hug hang makes it pretty unique. Beef bibimbop pizza- crust was crispy and the flavoring was ok. It is on the sweet side. Didn't taste much spice. Spicy tonkatsu ramen- essentially just comes with a chili sauce but that couldn't save it. This was the most bland ramen I have ever had. You couldn't take any pork and while I don't typically like salty foods, this definitely needed salt or soy sauce. When the ramen came out, you could also see that it was a bit congealed at the top and you had to break that layer and mix it. The egg at least was soft boiled. Koji Gold Japanese style lager- pretty smooth. Actually brewed in Tennessee. All in all, I was really disappointed with the ramen but would be willing to come back to try some other dishes like their Korean fried chicken wings. read more

The Food at here was very good. I had the pork bowl and my girlfriend had the pizza. Both were definitely filling and seeing as I'm on the bigger side, that's impressive. We decided to try it and were pretty pleasantly surprised! The menu has a lot of different options and I got the salmon dish with vegetables and rice. I would have given this place a 5 star but my salmon was really over cooked. The flavor was good and I'd still come back to try some of the other dishes. The pizza and ramen both sounded really good! Great concept, not-so-great execution. I was super excited to try Salaryman. I'm a huge fan of Asian food of all varieties, so when I saw this restaurant on Yelp and looked at the menu, I had to try it. Unfortunately, my excitement didn't last long after tasting the food. As a concept, Salaryman makes for a great restaurant; in practice, not so much. The name "Salaryman" borrows from the Japanese term for salaried workers. In Japanese pop culture, these individuals are often depicted after work in white-collared shirts, sleeves rolled up, ties off, drinking beer, and eating bar food. This imagery comes through in the ambiance, food, and drink menu, with dishes that would be fitting in a bar, pub, or happy-hour spot. The menu is varied and pulls influence from both Japanese and Korean cultures, leading to some interesting dishes. While this variety might be a plus for some, to me, it felt unfocused, and that lack of focus was reflected in the food's execution. While none of the food was bad, none of it stood out as particularly great either. In a suburb or smaller city where Asian food options are limited, this would probably be okay. But in a place like Atlanta, with Buford Highway nearby, it's too easy to find far superior versions of any of the dishes on the menu just a few miles away. That being said, this was just my experience, and I do think the restaurant IS worth trying if you're interested in what you see in pictures or the menu, you may find that you might like it as many others have. read more

I have been to their old location years ago and thought it was just fine and never really found a need to go back, but my experience last night was awesome! The Garlic beef noodle was phenomenal. One minor thought, was there was too much beef to noodle ratio, which I'm sure appeals to a lot of people, but I wanted more noodles! The texture of the noodles had the perfect amount of bite to it and the flavor had something that couldn't I place but was so addictive. I could honestly eat this every day. I also had the Korean fried chicken which was also very good, especially when you added a little more of their house made hot sauce to it. Randomly tried this place leaving from Ulta in the same plaza. Thank goodness I did. This was my first time trying Bulgogi steamed buns and they were amazing! The chicken sando was good, I love the sauce on it and the chicken was juicy but the flavor was only the sauce. The pork and chicken gyoza was very very good. I tried the TKO drink and it was tasty. The service was ok, it took awhile for the drinks to get to us and the waitress didn't check on us, we had to stop her but I don't blame her, she seemed to be the only person working tables.
