Trying to start the year off right, I had a taste for a salad. Off to Salata I go. Their app and website was acting wonky so I just drove there to order. No lines and everything was fresh and fully stocked. I ordered a wrap with pesto chicken and shrimp, a bowl of chicken tortilla soup and a chocolate chip cookie. I always forget but they have the best teas. I didn't get any today. Lucky me, I had reward points that I happily used. The wrap was delicious, full and I don't know why I thought I would eat it all. ​I really want to love this Salata location because the food is consistently fresh and delicious, but there are two major things holding it back from being a regular go-to for me. ​First, for a modern dining space, it's disappointing that there is no Wi-Fi available for customers. In a world where many of us are looking for healthy alternatives to coffee shops to get some work or school tasks done while we eat, not having connectivity is a huge letdown. This environment has so much potential to be a great "dine and work" spot, but until they prioritize staying connected, it's just a quick "in and out" place. ​Second, the service flow could use some serious improvement. If you happen to get stuck behind someone placing a large family order, the line ends up going out the door. It seems like they need a better system or more staff during peak hours to handle those bigger orders without bottlenecking the entire experience for everyone else. ​I'll keep coming back for the salads, but I'd love to see this location evolve into a more business- and student-friendly environment! read more

Was halfway through my salad when I bit on something hard. Pulled it out my mouth and it was a broken piece of plastic. Showed it to the person at the register and she said, "that probably came of one of our tongs." She said, "do you want us to make you another salad?" I said I want a refund. She said, "you want a refund? But are you already almost done with your salad?" I told her I could have choked on that. So without any apologies she goes to her register and void out the check. Hopefully, I'll get my refund in a couple of days. just a warning. Make sure you check your salad before you dig in! This is BY FAR the worst Salata in the area! The salads they make are super small (like half the bowl when you are done)! The restaurant has been out of chipotle white bean soup for a very long time and now some of their tea taps are also not working! I recommend visiting the Salata in Kingwood (straight down West Lake Houston Parkway about 5 miles), as they know how to make a Salata salad that is worth the money and they have more soups and tea taps all worked last time I was there. Or, for a salad just got next door to Olive Garden and you could get soup, salad & breadsticks for the same price you pay for this tiny salad. read more

Salata is a Houston chain that is all over Texas now, and even outside Texas a little bit, and this one is way out in the middle of Humble and brand new. I quite enjoyed the salad here - and the service was really lovely. My fave locations are Hwy 6, Wirt, Weslayan, and W Gray, also 59 & Fondren, but this one is not far behind. The problem with a lot of them is that the portions are small. Other issues include bad service or ingredients not being fresh. This location didn't really have any of those issues, the employees were lovely, the portion was fresh, and the size of the salad was good. Therefore, I give 5 stars. read more

From the bowl options which so will have to explain to me why the smaller bowl is only a dollar less I don't get that I guess that's why they sell more big bowls but I love the spinach combination with the spring mix. I like peas I like mushrooms I like healthy peppers I do like the chicken It's just more of those places that if you do like salad, you have so many different options really makes a boring item fun so if you want something different you haven't tried it you really should. They also do wraps so if you don't really like the salad I did you can just include everything you would and that salad in a wrap how convenient is that talk about service, next thing is the ambience nice quiet think of it kind of like just a real mellow vibe so if you like quiet areas to eat and stuff, the ambience is kind of quiet. Placed an online order; I picked it up and since it was a large order I did not check my food entirely. Salata tapes your order to your salad container, which I love because it makes sorting through them easier. After I got my salad and opened it, I was greatly disappointed. Even with printed instructions, half of the toppings I ordered for my salad were not placed on there at all! Furthermore, it appeared that the staff arranged the salad in a manner where you wouldn't notice half of the ingredients were missing until you began mixing it. This is the second time I've experienced this issue where several ingredients were not placed and no communication was made to notify if they were out of certain things. I really enjoy a good salad, especially after a long period of gorging on junk food. My usual salad spot is Sweet Tomatoes (which is a salad buffet), but when there isn't one close by me then I'll settle for Salata. This location is ok. I always found their prices to be a bit high for just salad, but then again, you do pay a price for not making it yourself. I generally don't like going to this location because the portion is less than normal. For instance, if I want hard boiled egg, I only get about the equivalent of a tea spoon. If I ask for more, I get another tea spoon with a weird look. How much does a bite of egg cost? The same goes for a lot of their other ingredients. If you compare what you can get at Sweet Tomatoes, it's definitely a lot less value. On the other hand, Salata does offer more variety in their salad sometimes. read more

This salata needs to be shut down. We went for a salad midday on a weekend and as soon as we came in we saw roaches on the counter area where they were preparing food. Additionally the food prep area was in disarray and not in the salata clean fashion. Highly recommend avoiding and all needs to be improved and/or shut down. read more

I wanted a salad all week, so I got this place for dinner. It was basically a salad buffet set up. They had plenty of topping options, which I liked a lot. I've been to a bunch of different salad places where they don't have many options so that was definitely a plus. The regular sized salad to go portion is actually pretty big and fulfilling. I got the grilled chicken salad with balsamic vinaigrette. I thought it was pretty good. Customer service was okay. Prices were about the same as any other salad shop. read more

I love Salata and was thrilled when I learned we would be getting one. The food was fresh and everyone was nice. Service was a little slow and some servers were not aware of items but that's to be expected from a new location. I ordered a large in order to get half crab and half shrimp. I have done this at every Salata I've visited and I darn near been to them all on several occasions. This location did not allow. I'm not sure if it's a corporate thing or a misinformed employee. First time coming to this location & the experience is HORRIBLE!!! The line is super long, the line of food is a mess, not enough veggies. The containers are empty. Lettuce is everywhere, server Shannon was ridiculously slow I'm sorry but woow! I had never experience this at a Salata. This team should be trained by the staff at the river oaks location!!! GREAT SERVICE! I walk in at 10 minutes to closing - afraid everything may be put away or that I may get dirty looks...lol And just the opposite happened. Everything was still out (but didn't look "all day old") and Jason was the nicest, most pleasant person just as if it was the middle of the day. He didn't rush me, he smiled (under his mask) and even asked if I wanted to dine in! Of course I wouldn't dare do that to them. I kinda hate to admit it, but I actually liked this place. I'm not a salad guy normally but I wanted a lighter/healthier meal so we went. There is a lot to choose from and the smaller salads are quite big. Everything was very fresh. The staff was a little impatient and I felt like I was being rushed despite there being very few people waiting if any. That was one draw back. I can imagine this being even worse during a lunch rush. But the food was good. I've seen complaints that it's a little pricey, but I think it's still reasonable. Keeping salad fresh is bound to cause some overhead costs. But I'd rather have a lot of fresh options than wilted lettuce. I'd go again when I'm looking for a lighter lunch or dinner. read more

And so the story on this location is... Salata has just launched their reward program and guess what they forgot to train the employees. I received an email stating that I had a $12 reward in my account. As I was doing some grocery shopping I decided to place my order ahead so I can pick it up. Well I tried but the order site would not let me complete my order without putting in my credit card information. It showed that the $12 was applied on my $11 order but again it would not complete. I went to the location and showed them that it was not going through. One of the employees asked to see my phone I gave it to her and she deleted my order so I recreated the order and it still would not go through. She then states that she was frustrated because they didn't know how the rewards program worked. Then she said you have to sign in on Safari...I don't have an iPhone so I don't have Safari and what kind of establishment only creates the online ordering just on Safari. She then walked away and went to the back, didn't see her again. The guy stepped up and said let's see what we can do. He looked and my phone and saw the $12 credit and saw that it was applied but just wouldn't let me complete the order. So he said there was nothing he can do. I asked if they could call their customer service team or somehow give me the credit as he saw that I had it. He said no. I left and went straight home and sent an email to Salata. How nice that the rep responded first thing the next morning. She told me all the steps, which I had done. She also said that I could give them my phone number or email and they can pull it up. So I replied back, letting her know that I tried the steps 3 times, no one asked me for my phone number or email and letting her know that the staff was frustrated and that I understand it's a new program but a company this size should have had the bugs worked out. I'm a small business owner and I don't publish anything until I try it our with my friends to ensure it will work for the customers. So guess what she didn't even respond back and again in my opinion the establishment should respectfully close out the conversation especially through email, even if there is nothing they can do. Oh back up, when I got home and logged in on my iPad guess what my account showed up differently and it also showed that I had a card number, now I don't have a physical card, but I was shocked to see that it showed up differently using Safari just as the young lady said. So I screen shot it and went in the next day to the same location. The same young lady assisted me. I showed her the $12 reward on my phone and told her that the rep told me that they should ask for my phone number, I gave it to her and she said ok I will transfer the amount to a gift card and then redeem it. So I actually left with my delicious wrap in hand but with a high level of disappointment to Salata. read more

After months of craving Salata but being weary of eating out in general, I decided to visit my favorite Salata location. I was taken by surprise by the fact that there were no extra plexi glass-type shielding around the food prep counters. There was yellow tape on the floor to mark recommended social distancing and that was IT!!! Then I was shocked to see a customer wearing his face mask as a "chin diaper", not covering his mouth or nose at all and leaning way over the counter asking about the protein options for his salad. Whatever airborne droplets coming from him were landing all over the food. My son and I looked at each other and acknowledged we were seeing the same thing and almost said simultaneously, "to hell with this!!" Why did the restaurant employee not ask him to wear his mask properly?!? Why did she not ask him to not lean over the counter. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. We don't live anywhere close to the location but made the trip because it's still the closest location to us (Kingwood would be next). I always order plenty of food. I don't shy away from paying extra for extra bread or the premium toppings. Y'all lost a good sale when my son and I had to leave this evening. The employees were not paying the the customers, they were speaking amongst themselves. I ordered 2 salads to go and the lady was distracted with her coworker and put pumpkin seeds in one of the salads I specifically said not to. When I told her it was incorrect. She started picking them off one by one, which would be fine if my friend was not allergic to them. So I asked her to remake the salad and the manager came out and started arguing that we couldn't get another salad. They gave in, and corrected my friends salad, but again, they were talking within themselves in Spanish which they assumed I didn't understand but I clearly do, and they were bad mouthing me and my friend, cursing and calling us names. Anyways, I had I was not done with my salad, and the other employee just puts quinoa in my salad and I didn't even tell her anything. So I told her what was she doing with my salad, and she told her manager that I fucked up the salad and that she was gonna keep it for herself (in Spanish).
