Salad and wraps. That about sums it up. There is nothing innovative or exciting about this place, but it is a great option if you are trying to eat healthy. It is an assembly line style place (think Chipotle or Subway). There is a great variety of choices for bases, proteins, toppings, and dressings. This is a place that will get better the more times you visit and more familiar you are with all their available options. It can be a bit frantic and disjointed your first trip, and you may end up with a mish-mash of toppings if you don't go in with a plan. So good and very fresh! But just a caution, if you have food allergies be careful! The workers cross contaminate with their gloves, so make sure you are being safe. Since they only use gloves and not prongs when scooping the ingredients in, all of the toppings have been cross contaminated in that section. A little disappointed! read more

As a colleague put it - this is a legit salad bar. Another colleague mentioned - a trophy wife hangout :^). Definitely a step above Sweet Tomatoes. The greens are fresh and the choices are endless. Don't be discouraged by the long lines - it moves quickly. And this is actually a big plus as it creates a high turnover rate of their food which they have to continuously restock. I love salads so my sister and I stopped here for lunch after reading my fellow Yelpers reviews. This is a salad place that doesn't have much more variety of ingredients than the HEB salad bar. Disappointing! All of the ingredients were fresh but for $10 a salad I thought I would want to eat here often and wouldn't have to get the same 5 ingredients every time. The salad dressing choices were a joke without the laughter. If you are worried that you won't be able to choose your dressing because there are so many yummy options, you are safe here. It's like having a bunch of dressing in you refrigerator that other family members like but you are all out of your dressing favorites so you have to settle for what's left on the refrigerator door. I thought this place would be like a Salad Works a popular salad place in the East. Not even close. Don't believe me? Google them and check out the menu of unique salads they have and all the ingredients they have for make your own. They have dressing favorites and a bunch of unique dressings. One of my best friends took me up for lunch here on day and it was blown away on the price and amount of salad you get. There's plentiful of options to make on your salad from every veggie you could think of, good variety of meat options, and a great staff to make your perfect salad. The herb vinaigrette is the best dressing there hands down and always put that on my salad. For a salad bar restaurant, it can't be beat. They have a very large selection of vegatables to choose from but no artichokes or hearts of palm. I typically get a salad (ask for double helpings) and a bowl of soup. The quality is high for the salad items and the soups are good. My wife loves this place and gets her fill of salad, strawberries, garbanzo beans, and bread. We eat here about once per week just to say we eat healthy. I love, love, love my salad at salata. I counted a total of 33 items I put in my salad and it is just terrific. Very filling and delicious food. They move you through the line really fast and the register slows you up a bit. But definitely don't be afraid of the line at lunchtime and tables open up by the time you get your salad. Everything is fresh and tons to choose from to put in your salad. The meats, fish and shrimp all look amazing too. I decided I'd give it a try instead of going for Chinese food and ruining my diet. I am so glad I did. Not even the best Chinese buffet could compare. Everything was extremely fresh, flavorful and absolutely amazing. The chipotle ranch and pasta bow-ties I got weren't raw, but amazing. I love salata. Personally I feel like the produce is always fresh and crisp. The employees are usually friendly and have never been rude. This location and the woodlands location have a good bit of consistency between them. My couple peeves with salata is when you are ordering they can get a little skimpy on the salad additions. One time the lady literally grabbed 3 skittle sized pieces of celery. I asked her to add more and she threw 3 more skittle sized pieces of celery. Almost not even worth it. But the wraps have tendency to becomes overfilled which I understand. The soups are mediocre, I enjoyed the tomato soup the best. Love the plum cinnamon mango tea and the pita chips. I've seen people get gigantic salads but I tend to stick with wraps. It always totals nice and even and will usually cost about 10-20 dollars for 1 person. read more

So obviously, this place is great. A salad bar with ample toppings, including supreme protein options (i.e. smoked turkey, salmon, and pesto chicken). I had never been here before and was initially disappointed that I would not be able to make my own salad...staff is in control of doting out your requested toppings. However, this is not an issue because they will give you more of anything that you request. There are many, many options to choose from. Unfortunately, avocado and artichoke hearts are an upcharge ($1). Once your salad has been made, including the addition of the dressing, the hallmark is the mixing of the salad. People might not think that this is special (I used to be one), but there is something about it that elevates this salad to no end. I encourage you to try it out. You will be blown away. The salad starts at $8 and the proteins are $3/$4. Your meal comes with your choice of bread or pita chips. I chose the pita chips. They are pretty good....a healthier version. One gripe is that the dressing options are high in calories (~300) so if you are truly trying to be healthy, you might want to limit that dressing to one scoop or even half. I had to keep saying "add more please" and when I finally sat down to eat my salad I literally had 4 pieces of the little chopped tomatoes. So like I said, the salad was ok, but wasnt worth the hassle of feeling like I was pulling teeth in order to get ingredients added. 2 stars. Normally I get great service and an amazing salad at Salata, but tonight the service was awful. My order was completely mixed up, and the woman preparing my salad mixed it up with a wrap. Once she realized her mistake, she became extremely frustrated and approached a manager. Normally I am very understanding in these situations and even offered a simple solution, but she then began speaking to her manager in Spanish. Although I speak Spanish, I was very frustrated about this and that it was being done in a whisper. This was my co-workers and I first time goo to salata and he food was excellent but the customer service was HORRIBLE...As I proceeded to pick up the order I realized that they did not have any bottles soft drinks so I just asked since they didn't have any can I get a refund for the paid bottled drink and a simple "no I'm sorry" would have been fine but then these women in purple coats told me "sorry we can't give a refund for that but it's just 2 dollars do you really need it?"
