It's Salata, what could go wrong? Basically you've got your choice of greens, a timid veggies, some random fruits, throw in some cheese & selection of nuts. Then you get to douse it in your choice of dressing. My favorite is 1 scoop of the lemon vinaigrette (LV) & 1 scoop of the sun dried tomato. It sounds weird but it's delicious. But I learned today that 1 scoop of the LV is 300 calories?!?!?! You also get your choice of protein & this was the first I saw Asian BBQ Chicken. You can add avocado or artichokes & toss in those croutons! They didn't offer me bread though but I heard them offer it to the woman behind me. It's cool. I got the LV. I've been to different locations and it's the best place ever. So when I found out they were opening a location close to my apartment I was ecstatic. Well when I came in to THIS salata it was at 7:00 and I get off of work at 6:30 so I was very excited to get some dinner. First of all they did not have many options and they did not want to take out anything that was not already out. (Which I understand if it was maybe 30 minutes till closing) but they didn't close until 9! So I asked the girl if they had anymore of the ingredients that were missing. She gave me the worst attitude ever. I also asked if I could try the herb marinated chicken (because I typically get the spicy chipotle chicken and they did not have any) she started putting it on my salad and I said "no, can I try it" and she rolled her eyes and gave me a piece of chicken. After that I ended up just getting a vegan salad. You know I LOVE salata but it's a franchise so they had the same food in every location, therefore it's up to the employees to give you a good experience. Placed an online order 30 minutes before picking it up. When we arrived to the Salata, our salads were not ready. When we asked for the online order 2 employees said "we don't have any online orders...". They went to look and sure enough, there was our order. Pick up was at 6pm we arrived at 6:10pm. 40 minutes went by. You mean 4 people didn't notice there was an online order? There was no one in line. There's no way they were THAT busy. Wow, the food here is so good. The variety is fantastic. Their soup is very good too. The only issue I have is the price. My neighbor and I shared a small salad, each got a cup of soup and a drink. Fresh. Quality. Healthy. What more could you ask for? Fresh toppings, greens, dressings, soups, and beverages. I ate at this location 3 times during its opening week. It was consistently good. I'm a salad and veggie lover, and I am extremely picky when it comes to the quality of my vegetables. Nothing bothers me more then finding a slimy or rotten vegetable on my plate. I was promptly greeted when I walked in. There was no line to wait so I give them a 1 star for that. Unfortunately, I didnt get passed the greeting nor was I able to order and I left. A little confised with the experience. Hmm. I ask myslef...what went wrong? When she greeted me and she seemed ready to do the order so i Requested their southwest chicken wrap ( exactly as it is listed on the catering menu) as I was pointing to the item on the menu and offering to hand it to the server when I ordered ( may I add I do this all the time at another salata by my work without a problem - the server normally will take the menu and make the wrap - seems easy) not today. Not here in Pealand. I was shocked when I did this the server actually responded that she wasnt able to do that. She said and I quote "no, I can't do it. Many people change it." If it weren't for the high prices I would give Salata 5 stars. The smoked turkey is so good in each salad combo I've tried! The shrimp are flavorful also. It seems as if their staff aren't friendly at all. I made an online order and as soon as I walked in the employees are looking like deer in the headlights. I waited at the counter for help but I was ignored. A few minutes later I was addressed and I informed the lady that I made an online order and told her my name. Well as soon as her coworker brings out my food I grab my order to proceed to leave when the lady blatantly says to him that I'm walking away without paying!!! He had to show her that I did make a payment and she looked awfully stupid. They need to hire people with common sense cause it is in fact something she lacks! Not To sure where to begin with this review. Salata is a great concept and the Salads are amazing however over the last few months I have really started to dislike this pearland location. I come here just about every day and order the same thing but lately it's become so Aggravating I hate coming here. This pearland location and I promise you this is the only one is so stingy with their toppings it's ridiculous. Just last night and today I ask for strawberries on a regular salad and they girl put 3 pieces of strawberries on it and that's on a regular. Wonder how many you get on a small salad. I've had it a few times where they've put my regular salad in a small box. That doesn't sound right. O and good luck trying to talk to a manager. I don't think this place even has one. I asked last night to talk to one and was told there are only shift leaders. Unacceptable. Any other salata makes your salad like a salad should be made. With toppings and 2 scoops of shrimp not 8 piece counter by the employees finger so they don't accidentally give you 9 pieces. If your around another salata go check them out. Used to be a fan of this chain, but that all changed because of this Pearland location. Food is good and fresh but not sure why they make a big deal about charging a dollar for extra dressing here. It's not like that at the Westheimer location where the staff is a LOT more friendly. Used to dine at this location frequently, haven't been back since my last visit a few weeks ago. I simply asked for a little extra of the fat free mango dressing and you would have thought I was robbing the place. I was scolded and told there would be a dollar charge. The employee then made a big deal about putting an extra plastic cup (empty) to alert the cashier I got more dressing. If I am going to pay 10 bucks for a salad, i don't expect to be scolded. I also don't understand why they would want to lose a customer over a few cents. I emailed their corporate office about the rudeness and their reply was simply "sorry...but that's our policy." They obviously don't care. I've decided to take my business to one of the MANY other restaurant locations in Pearland who serve salads and DON'T scold their customers. I love Salata and would love to recommend this location, but unfortunately it was a huge disappointment compared to other locations. I placed a pick up order and when I got home, found that my salad had the wrong dressing as well as about half my requested toppings missing. Plus, I paid $1 extra for avocado, which turned out to be about 2 wimpy slices. I was excited when I heard about a Salata opening in Pearland. I really do like their food. However I'm a stickler for service and cleanliness. The first time I went, the line was long and slow, but it's new and popular so no big deal. One thing caught my eye, there were several cookies that were poorly wrapped. They were open at the bottom and exposed. I mentioned it to the cashier and he didn't really seem to care, he said "I guess I will eat them". Tonight I went and realized no one changes gloves. One girl was wiping her nose with the backside of her glove that she is preparing food with. Another one was touching everything under the sun with gloves that he never changed. The final straw was the guy that was wiping down the prep area with the palm of his glove that he then tried to use to grab my lettuce. What the f? I placed an order online for pick-up because I was short on time and had to get back to work. I requested extra CHIPOTLE Ranch and got one container of regular ranch. I dined for lunch at Salata in Pearland yesterday, March 21, 2019, and got VIOLENTLY ILL! If I could give this place a negative 10 stars, I would! A few hours after eating there, I got a severe headache which was worst than a migraine. I was in so much pain that I could not stop crying (I'm not a cryer). The pain and pressure was so intense that my eyes wanted to pop out of my eye sockets. I felt like my head was going to literally explode. Then I began having stomach cramps and started vomiting profusely. (I have never had a weak stomach in my life, on the contrary). The salad at Salata was the only thing I had eaten all day as I had met a friend for lunch there. The excruciating pain in my head was unbearable, like nothing I have felt before. The pain from heaving, coupled with throwing up 6 times, the last 2 times being merely bile, but just as painful coming up (pardon my candor but necessary), was unbearable. My husband and sons and daughter wanted to take me to ER but I was literally too limp to peel myself off floor and away from toilet where I hung vomiting. This morning, feeling better, I texted the friend I had dined with at Salata, and she informed me that she too was deathly ill last night and could not leave her toilet. We both had shrimp in our salads, only I had all shrimp and she had seafood mix, which included some shrimp, but less than mine. The salad at Salata was the only meal my friend had had yesterday as well, and we were both on our death beds yesterday after having eaten at Salata - I'm not exaggerating one bit. It was the worst head and stomach pain I have ever felt in my life! Food was great but service was terrible, I went today with 2 friends and my 2 year old, there is a lady who works there (Rhonda) that was rushing us to order; we didn't get there together so we were saying our hello to each other and she was directing us to the line and wanted to know if I needed a high chair or booster for my son, after we got our salads we were eating and my son was seating on the booster playing on my phone but after a while he got bored and got out of the booster and was walking around saying hi to some people and the same lady (Rhonda) said very rude and loud "mam, I'm gonna have to ask you to hold your son" she didn't come to me nicely and polite to ask me that, she said it from across the room, so I grabbed my son and asked her why, since he wasn't disturbing anybody and she said it was a safety reason, so he doesn't bump into somebody walking with their salad, but the place wasn't crowded and everybody was seated, so I had to finish my salad holding a crying and fussy baby who was perfectly happy before and just wanted to be free. I have frequented this Salata since the beginning and there have been minor quirks that I ignored but today was enough. Upon entering I spoke to the gentleman who was fixing my salad twice before he spoke back. The lettuce was very low and the gentleman gave me the lettuce that was left in the container. I had to ask if there was anymore salad. His demeanor was very nonchalant but he did fill the container with fresh lettuce. As we proceeded through the line, I had to ask for extra tomatoes, olives, strawberries and pineapples. This has always been a concern when I frequent this Salata in that you are given very small portions of ingredients for your salad. This experience was not as welcoming as I've had in the past but the quality of service has been diminishing for quite sometime. There is a new location opening off of Pearland Parkway soon, so I guess I will wait until that location opens or visit the Baybrook location. read more
