    My salad concoction!!
    C M.

Wow...what a great Yelp find...again. Searched for "salad" and this placed popped up. Pretty easy...pick small, regular, or wrap and go from there. A lot of choices: lettuces, veggies, meats, dressing, and toppings. If you just want to break away from the norm and get a great salad that you build...would recommend!!!

Salata at Huebner Oaks is a solid salad bar. The choices are abundant and the selection fresh. The team members were helpful and the bar area was clean and well organized. This new-ish chain to San Antonio is ideal when you need to grab a quick bite. Cheers!

Love Salata! I love their sweet tea as well. Employees are very friendly and store is very clean. Lunch time is crazy busy but line moves fast and dinner is more relaxed.

One locked door, contrary to the instructions.

I like the food. Except that I wish you had real olive oil (not cut with cheaper non-olive oils). And I hate it when only one of two doors is unlocked. Especially when the door itself says it must remain unlocked when occupied.

Although it's been a long time since I've been here, today I went and they did not disappoint!! Soon as I entered, I was greeted with a welcoming smile ! Once in line, I could see all the many, fresh choices they have. Everything looked inviting! As they mixed my salad in front of me the, the build up of anticipation for the freshness was building! And the taste? DELICIOUS!!! Next time I won't wait so long to come back!

We may betray our age here, but remember lunching at Souper Salads? The very popular salad restaurant 20 years ago? Remember the chagrin when they closed operations and we were left with an empty pit in our stomachs in their absence? Well, mourn no more. Should yelpers search for "made to order" salad, Salata is here, and their offerings will satisfy anyone's desire for the leafy treasure! We visited the Huebner Oaks location today, that restaurant hard on I-10, surrounded by retails and restaurants, with parking aplenty. Within, left is the queue where salads (or wraps) can be prepared down the food line. Right of entry, find the dining area, contemporary in design, with over two dozen tables for diners. There is also a small outdoor dining area just left of the entry. The mode of salad preparation is reminiscent of Chipotle, where employees fill your order as directed. Unlike some salad bars, this is not grab your own ingredients. Behind glass panels the many employees happily heap selections, and the employees are not stingy with their portioning! The metal salad bowls come in two sizes: generous, and very generous. We chose the smaller of the two, and friends we left satiated. So, what is offered? First in line are the selections of the leaf preferred. Down the line are vegetables, legumes, cheeses, nuts, and dressings to suit any ones' preferences. We are talking literal horn of plenty of offerings! And should one not be certain of the dressings, samples are given on request. Next in line are proteins: chicken, turkey, crab meat, to name a few. The proteins selected come at additional cost, the prices delineated on the trays behind the glass panels. Next in line: bread selections. The cost of the basic salad, sans protein is about $9.00, a reasonable sum given the excellent quality, freshness and quantity. We are protein fanatics, so my chicken and crab added another $7.00 to my salad, Marjan chose turkey, adding $3.60 to her salad, just for the dear readers' comparison. This restaurant is very popular, with guests filling the dining area, within and on the patio. There was a continual flow of patrons on take-out. The staff? Pleasant, helpful, very professional to a one. (There are no waitstaff on the dining area, so any additional needs are handled on approach to the counter.) We considered Salata a significant upgrade from the traditional salad bar, the serve yourself style of salad bar. The quality of the ingredients, the protein offered, all just excellent. The cost of salad lunch may be a bit more than usual, but given the quality, we consider this an excellent value proposition. Would we return? Definitely. Marjan rates Salata 5 origami boots! Enjoy yelpers!!

Small salad, still more than plenty of food. Ingredients in the review...

Finally got to try this place! This picture is for a small salad, and this was plenty filling. Ingredients: spinach, tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, bean sprouts, black olives, banana peppers, chickpeas, ginger lime vinaigrette, pumpkin seeds, steak, and mixed cheese. I saw the feta cheese too late :( There is a sizable staff at each station and they're really helpful. Always be friendly to your food service folks, please. The decor is somewhat minimalist, and it looks fresh and chill, which is helpful when you've had a busy day. I'm sure this will be my new favorite restaurant. Thank you, Salata!

This place is amazing! You pick the greens, & every possible option you want in your salad! In addition there are options from different types of chicken, fish & even shrimp! No reason to not eat healthy! Service here is consistent & patient, which allows you to take your time to pick your selections. There are various tea drink options. Casual, hard basic chairs & table. If looking for healthy roughage, this place is for you.

One of my colleagues mentioned he comes here for lunch when he's in the mood for lighter fare. I decided to tag along and I'm glad I did, I miss having a salad centered restaurant, RIP Souplantation and from his description I thought Salata would be a similar set up. It's not a buffet but it's a fast-casual set up: it's kind of like the veggie line at Subway on steroids. I loaded up with a spinach/arcadian mix/arugula and loaded up on the veggies; I skipped the fruits but added egg and avocado then mixed the dressings up a bit to find a combination I liked. I got the chipotle chicken and shrimp for proteins and tried their croissant as well. I liked it enough that my second visit I ended up convincing my colleague to go there for lunch on my next visit.

Salmon with toppings and the ginger salad dressing! *chefs kiss*

I literally crave this salad! Whenever I pop over to San Antonio I have to stop at Salata. Super fast and convenient location! Ordered online and the curbside pickup was done in 10 min during lunch hour!

I love going to Salata and after a really heavy day of eating for Sunday of Labor Day Weekend... it was just what I was craving! I hadn't been to this location before but wanted to do some shopping afterwards so figured why not! The inside/and outside look like your typical Salata and are laid out in the usual manner. I went through the line to have them make up my normal order, but quickly noticed that many of the usual labels / nutritional information was missing which was a bit annoying and made me sometimes not even realize that an option was available. Even the tea/drinks were missing their information. On a positive note, I ordered Shrimp as my protein and felt they gave a fair serving of it and didn't skimp on it like some locations do. For that... they were 5 stars. I would go back to this location and my parents who joined me agreed that they would go back!

Salata is so good. Haven't been to this particular location yet but quality of food is just as good as every other location I've been to. I love all the different options they have and love their lemonades and teas even more. My only complaint is that they really need to update this location. It wasn't comfortable sitting in a booth with peeling vinyl. Not a lot of other table options, especially for a Saturday. I do LOVE their peach lemonade. It's one of my favorite drinks, ever. This location is also pretty gross. Food all over the floor, we had to clean our own table. The drink station also had spills all over the place. I understand they were busy but someone could have came out to handle it. I'd rather wait a little longer in line then sit in filth.

If we want to go there for lunch, we try to get there as close to 11 am as possible when they first open. I would definitely recommend ordering this with rice, or taking it home and making your own. The dumplings and spring rolls were crispy, but nothing special. I did like the duck sauce they had -- I would have asked my server for more of it, but she was busy in the back or something, not sure. I wish she would've checked in on me a bit more during the visit so I could have gotten more napkins and sauce. The service was alright. I wish I would've gotten checked on a little bit more, but she was nice and helped me pack my noodles to go. Overall, this spot wasn't terrible, but if I had to choose, I'd probably try another place.

Drinks were AMAZING! Bartender Rob made the best Negroni I've ever had. I asked him to use whatever gin he thought best--result was an artistic smooooooth full-bodied drink. Told him when I was done I'd lick the glass if it wasn't considered so uncouth for a 'mature' lady like myself to do so Hubby's Buffalo Trace bourbon old fashioned was also outstanding. Rob was the bartender last night who did such a great job, and his work was even better tonight. We highly recommend The EsquireTavern for excellent cocktails. We love the long wood bar and high copper ceiling upstairs, but love the intimate speakeasy atmosphere downstairs even more. We'll definitely be back every time we're in San Antonio! First review, Friday night: Drinks were great (Manhattan and Bourbon Old Fashioned). REAL drinks, no complaints at all about those. And the bartenders were very friendly and helpful. Those aspects of the Esquire get 5+ stars from us. But the appetizers were not good, close to inedible. It was about 8:30pm or so, so maybe they were getting ready to close out the kitchen but the chalupitas with chicken tasted like rubber, and no flavor at all. The seafood platter had something in it that was breading with shell inside, but no meat of any kind. We couldn't figure out what it was supposed to be. The shrimp was good and the fish was good but those other things... We'll always love the drinks, the long wooden bar, and the ambiance at the Esquire Tavern, but we'll eat somewhere else and come here for before or after dinner drinks. (See update above to this review for when we returned the next night for after dinner drinks.)
