It's one of the biggest Japanese lifestyle stores in the LA area, and every aisle has something new to discover. I spent an embarrassingly long time admiring colors, clicking pens, and convincing myself I absolutely needed the extra whimsy. My inner pre-teen was beyond giddy. I'm pretty sure I reach peaked serotonin in that aisle. As an unexpected bonus, I also found corn sticks in the snack aisle- a snack I pretty much inhale. Between the stationery treasure trove, nostalgic snacks, and surprisingly solid skincare section (Dr. Jart masks for just $10!), this store managed to hit every one of my weak spots. Just like Walmart vs Target, Costco vs Sam's Club, Home Depot vs Lowe's, and Rite Aid vs Walgreens... kinda like day vs night, heaven vs earth, etc. If you had a choice, which would you choose? Fatima being…read morethe worse one made me feel unwelcome from the moment I politely asked if they had a prescription medication in stock, and before even asking whether I had a prescription, she assumed I didn't and immediately turned her back on me. I understand the pharmacy was busy, but that's not an excuse to treat customers with disrespect. Working in customer service requires professionalism and basic courtesy, regardless of how busy it gets. The interaction was dismissive and unprofessional, and it left me feeling uncomfortable. I hope management addresses this, because no customer should be treated that way.
