Great location, good parking, clean, perfect cheesesteak place and a very accommodating owner. We went straight in on standard Philly Cheesesteaks, and gotta say - they were stellar. In fact, I liked the Cheesesteak here better than the one at Delco's, which is rated as one of the very best in the Tampa area. They've got the Philly staples like egg and peppers, as well as burgers and dogs. Great selection of sodas and Italian ice, as well as really nice seating options outdoors. Highly recommend!

It was closing in on one o'clock and I was getting a bit hungry, needed to go somewhere new for my first review of the year. Had been downtown a few months back and saw this place. I went in and talk to someone behind the counter, she was bragging up the place. Said to myself I need to try it. I had great expectations for this place because it is close. But I have to agree with Danny J. from Denver and Patrick S. from St. Pete. It is an odd manner which to place order. Don't mind placing it at the register if someone is there. I was not aware I needed to ring the bell to get someones attention, that's okay too. I placed my order, 9" cheese steak w/fried onions...provolone cheese, fries. They call it the platter. And the highlight of the meal was the Hank's Root beer. I grew up about two beers from the Spectrum parking lot so I know a little bit about cheese steaks. What Danny J. said "they don't incorporate the cheese and the meat together they put the cheese inside the bun and then put the meat on top." And that is how mine was made which also made the sandwich a bit dry. What Patrick said, "But when I tell you it was salty -- It was salty! WAY TOO SALTY." Mine too was a bit salty but I thought that was because I biting into a thick piece of provolone. The fries weren't bad but the star was Hank's Root Beer. I'm not gonna tell ya not to go but if you do they also use CheezWiz, that may circulate through the meat better. Peace.

We wanted an early dinner so we made…read morereservations for 5:15pm on a Friday - it was lovely and quiet at that time, but it got busier as we were leaving. It seems an ideal place to go with friends and order a variety of dishes to sample and share. We began with their signature Peruvian Ceviche with coconut and kafir lime (the non-spicy version for me - there is also an ají amarillo version you can get with a bit of a kick to it) and the Smoked Mussels Toast. The ceviche was served in a deceivingly small bowl that contained a generous amount of fish and it came with crispy plantain chips. The mussels toast is a dish I NEVER would have ordered myself, but I let my husband pick and it turned out to be my favorite surprise of the meal. Served on crispy toast points with salsa macha aioli and a green pepper adobo that worked beautifully together. I could not rave enough about this dish! (Just try it! You'll thank me!) Our next 2 small plates were the Pulpo a la Gallega and the Lollipop Lamb Chops - both incredible. The octopus had a lovely char, but was very tender. It was served with crispy and slightly spicy papas bravas. The lamb chops were served on a bed of pistachio butter - and yeah, it was AS amazing as it sounds. My only complaint is I wanted about 6 more lamb chops...I kid, I kid. But seriously, we will probably order 2 plates of these next time. Deliciously tender and again, had a lovely chargrilled taste to it. At this point, we were too full for any more savory small plates, but, there was just enough room for dessert! We tried the Guava Sorbet, topped with a rum and cream cheese fondant icing and pomegranate seeds. This was light, refreshing, surprising, and I would 100% recommend it to cap off a good meal if you want something a little sweet that isn't too heavy. We also ordered the Mini Churros, which were a little more indulgent, filled with a light custard cream, topped with a sweet and salty plantain and graham cracker crumble, and served with a dark bittersweet chocolate sauce and a tart passion fruit sauce. I don't typically love sauce with my churros, but both of these were so good we practically drank them like shots! For our first experience at Pulpo, it was fantastic! Looking forward to a return visit to try even more of their dishes and cocktails.

Good thing this place had a lot of tapas :) Our server Andrea was great and gave amazing drink recommendations based on some quick questions she asked. We loved all the drinks we tried. For food, we started with the Smoked Mussels Toast, Duck Confit Empanadas, Mixed Skewer Asado, Gambas al Ajillo. For the entrees, we shared a Branzino Grilled à la Plancha and the Paella of Duck Confit & Roasted Local Mushrooms. HIGHLY recommend both entrees we tried. We also enjoyed the small plates too (the appetizers), but everything on the menu looked good and we were having a hard time choosing. Next time we'll probably order other things and make a final decision on our favorites. We were sat inside this time, but when it gets a little cooler outside, I think we'll try to get a table outside when they have a live music!

I was pleasantly surprised when I saw they got AC and immediately asked my family to visit. We have gone several times since then and we LOVE it. We do make reservations, but there have been open tables for walk-ins each time we have gone. Service is top-notch. We have had the same server each time and he banters well with my family- which makes the experience even better. Now, for the food. I recommend going for happy hour, but we do not always eat that early. Happy hour has great deals on appetizers and drinks. I love their grouper cheek sliders and fish dip. The hot sauce on the table is a datil pepper sauce and so very good. My favorite entrees are the blackened grouper sandwich and the baja-style fish tacos. I really cant wait to try the burger, but I love the other items so much I have a hard time not ordering those each time I go. My husband enjoys oysters and does not trust them at many restaurants. He is willing to pay more for quality, fresh oysters. Cheeky's is the place to go for oysters. He ordered the "best" variety for raw and fell in love with them. He also really likes the lightly breaded and fried oysters. They are not greasy and perfectly cooked every time. Drinks are fantastic. I got a special on Kentucky Derby day, a mint julep and it was so tasty. I usually enjoy their mixed drinks and my husband mixes it up between beer and mixed drinks. Recommend all of them. Intrigued by the Salt & Vinegar martini, but have not tried it yet. The restaurant is usually loud, casual, and lively. I feel completely comfortable bringing my grandkids and not worrying about how loud they are. We love the 'old florida' feel and recommend trying this place. We are already regulars.

I also had the salt and vinegar martini, it was Ok. Would mint order it again. The frozen espresso was delicious. The grouper cheeks were good but you only get two. The deviled eggs with the fried oyster were great. The fish spread was just weird. Not a fan at all. Felt like it was mixed with oil instead of mayo or dairy. The lobster roll was disappointing for $40. Definitely not worth $40. Gordon Ramsey's lobster roll isn't even that much and it's phenomenal. The raw oysters were delicious. We got the "good" ones. Was trying to gouge out how oystered from Tampa Bay were the "better" ones. I would not eat anything out of Tampa Bay when I can get VA oysters for a better price. All in all the experience was just ..Ok. I would go back for the oyster happy hour.

I do remember we tried the Bad Bunny and the Paloma, but I ended up switching to regular margaritas which were well done. I docked 1 star for food simply because the menu is pretty small, but I loved the Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich and my dinner date liked their salad. Unfortunately, the portion sizes were surprisingly small for the price, especially the chicken dish. We arrived at 5:45 p.m. for our 6:00 p.m. reservation and were seated promptly, which was appreciated. However, we waited about 45 minutes for our meals to arrive. While our waitress wasn't particularly attentive, she did apologize for the delay in getting our food. The restaurant itself is cute, specially outside seating. One suggestion is that the tables are larger for two people. The table next to us requested another table to be moved over to hold their food and drinks properly. The pita bread didn't arrive until later in the meal, and while it was a nice addition, it didn't make up for the small serving sizes and lack of anything to dip it into at that point. I truly wanted to love this restaurant and leave a glowing review because the food itself was very good. Sadly, between the long wait, service issues, and portion sizes that didn't match the prices, the overall experience fell short of our expectations.
