Hard pass. Pizza is too doughy, bland tasting sauce. Nothing about it tasted like homemade. Sauce that equates to ragu. If I could give less that 1 star for this mess I would. The lasagna is seemingly made with the same sauce so unfortunately it was a 1 star also. It has been years since I was here. Back then the pizza was eh. It seems they redid everything! This menu is huge and they added items I haven't seen since I left NY (pinwheels). We got the pinwheels and added sausage mushroom. They were huge and delicious!!! We also got the square MVP thing crust which has marinara sauce, vodka sauce, and pesto in streaks. 100% recommend! I ordered a sandwich and salad the other night and wasn't too thrilled with it. They saw the review and immediately responded and asked me to call Dave. I talked to Dave, he told me he wanted to make things right so he gave us a refund towards whatever we wanted. I ordered the lasagna pizza and that was absolutely delicious. All fresh ingredients just enough cheese tasted and looked delicious. I must admit I was wrong giving him a bad yelp review. I should've talked to him personally because he bent over backwards to make everything correct. All I can say is if you get a bad meal, everybody has an off day. Pizza snob here. Let me tell you something... this place is absolutely, in no way, shape or form, messing around. No flop. Perfect ingredient ratios. Thin but not too thin. Excellent crunch to chew ratio. Perfectly cooked. Flavor is beautiful. They do everything the right way here. Trust me. After you eat a slice of cheese here, if you know anything about pizza, you'll immediately know what time it is. Line out the door but so fast because the guy running the place is the realest of deals. Absolute legend. I've brought multiple friends that are the hardest to impress with pizza and they were shocked. Old school classic pizzeria vibe. 9/11 memorials on the walls and they keep the grated parm for your pizza in the fridge, not out on the tables... need I say more? I don't know these guys and they ain't paying me a dime. The pizza has been good since Mark was the owner. I have ordered there for years. However all that ended last night. It is unfortunate when the owner of an establishment is so condescending towards his long time customers. With all the competition out there I will no longer send money his way and I will spread the word to friends,family,and all Publix coworkers. I am not sure if he thought I couldn't hear him by the pizza oven saying"I can't bend over backwards for every customer but I will for $1.50", or he just didn't care. It's about the same. They seem to have several good combo meal deals that differ depending on the day of the week. The Sunday special was fantastic and enough for 2-3 people depending on how much you eat. The teriyaki wings were my favorite. The garlic knots were good as well. The pizza was nothing special but certainly satisfied my craving for comfort food. It was mainly the dough they use for the pizza that wasn't the best and lacked in flavor. SCW and I stopped in here more by accident than anything else. We were having our vehicles serviced at a nearby dealership and figured we'd grab some lunch to take up some of the time. Full disclosure we wanted to go to a different restaurant in the same strip mall but it was Monday and it was closed. However Salerno Pizza looked like it was worth a try. We were greeted and went to the counter to order after seeing what they had on the menu. We were there for lunch so we decided on the lunch special which was two slices (of cheese for both of us) and a fountain drink at a good price. We paid, took a seat and the pizza came out quickly. I didn't have high expectations for the pizza as I've found it difficult to find good pizza in the area. But wow, they make some really good NY style pizza here. The cheese was not salty or rubbery nor was the quantity too much or too little. Just right. The sauce was really flavorful, a thin layer on a thin crust of dough. The dough was crispy underneath but not thick or burned. SCW actually ate all of the crust on her slices which is quite rare. They have pepper flakes and garlic powder on the tables to put on top if you'd like. I took advantage of those and it enhanced the flavors a bit more. As far as the drinks, we got lemonade which again I wasn't particularly optimistic about (usually is way too sweet for me) but it was really good.
