They state that for the past 16 years they have used fresh ingredients in all their dishes and you'll notice that fact in every dish. The Ambiance: This lovely little restaurant reminds me of the bistro's I enjoyed in Venice. Get there early as it's always packed and there's not that many tables. They also offer several tables for outside dining. The Service: La Forchetta lost a star here as the service was slow and perfunctory at best. Our server couldn't seem to get her act together and seemed to be flustered by anything out of the norm. If I was to guess, having owned a few restaurants myself, I'd guess she was new and overworked having more tables than she could handle. The Food: A good sign of the quality of your meal is the quality of the salad and bread. Although this time we skipped the salad, the bread, or more precisely the garlic rolls featured the perfect balance of garlic butter and were good enough to be a meal unto themselves. After gorging on the rolls, we decided to share the calamari which turned out to be oh so crispy, and unlike so many other overly chewy offerings, was mouth watering tender. For our entrees, we chose the Penne pasta which was made al dente and featured a wonderfully robust bolognese sauce. Our second entree was the lobster filled raviolis which featured an amply filled fresh lobster covered in a creamy pink sauce. For desert we shared the house specialty tiramisu which was good but not necessarily memorable. The Bottom Line: As with all my reviews my "customer so what" would I come back... the answer is yes, because the food was so good, we'd try it again and hopefully the service would be up to the food.

Michelina's is your favorite Italian place on steroids. It's a good idea to make reservations and we were quickly seated at a nice table. I knew we were in for a treat when the garlic knots were brought out still hot from the oven. The menu is full of pasta favorites, chicken fish and veal favorites as well as pizza. The catch of the day was Snapper Francaise. I love this preparation whether it's on fish or chicken so it was an easy choice for me. Apparently my wife and one our friends agreed so our order was three Snapper Franchise and one Lasagna. I just about spent the entire meal raving about the snapper. My wife and friend agreed while our other friend was just as happy with his lasagna. Along with my entire' I had pasta fagoile which was just as excellent with a flavorful rich broth. Loved the ambiance as much as the great service. Another wonderful find!

Now I kept my dinner smaller than everyone but it truly filled the plate. Calamari which had a spicy marinara. I thoroughly enjoyed every morsel. No dessert as we were all stuffed. Excellent choice to have Italian I recommend it highly.

This free-standing establishment has an elegant feel without the pretentiousness. With black and white modern decor and attentive staff, Pastaio's gave us a 5-star experience all around. Our server, Axel, was amazing - great suggestions, anticipated our needs but didn't hover. Our meal began with complimentary garlic bread that was warm, tasty and just plain good. My husband and I also ordered a salad - the burrata caprese - to split before our entrees came out. We gobbled up the dish quickly - it was fresh, colorful and light. For my entree, I ordered the spaghetti with marinara and my husband ordered the lasagna. We both truly loved our dishes - to the point that I joked that we would have to spend hundreds of dollars on Uber Eats to get this food to our house (3 hours away) whenever we craved Italian! It was that good and now I really want their spaghetti....(leaves to access Uber Eats)

We started with the whipped ricotta plate and it was a total let down. It's an appetizer which is usually defined as a small food item that is shareable among guest. The plate came with only one small piece of bread which we were forced to cut in half and then when we asked for more bread we were charged an extra fee for something we should have received with our "shareable" dish. The amount of ricotta was highly disappointing as well. I'm not sure if there is a shortage of ricotta but it was the thinnest layer on the plate we received. Now the presentation was very nice and the mandarins and radish added a beautiful pop of color and flavor to the plate but for the cost the amount felt cheap. The Caesar salad was ok nothing very special just a head of romaine cut in half with dressing poured on and more crostini that I didn't want because I just had to pay for more to go with my whipped ricotta . The chicken parm which we didn't get a photo of was wet and soggy and the sauce was too sweet for me but I heard that's how they do it in New Heaven. Either way it wasn't great and neither was the service. One bartender and she was just spaced out and our main courses didn't come out together and I'm thinking because I ordered a salad as my main but that kind of kink should be worked out system wise by now. The house Montepulcjano wine was in fact great and so see the band that was playing.
