I recently found out about this pizza place through a friend recommendation. Since I'm still new to the Keyport area, I have been looking for some good pizza places. This by far is my new favorite pizza spot. I really enjoy their pizza here. I have tried many different types of slices they offer, and each one was spectacular. The show stopper is their Buffalo Chicken Slice however. This is an amazing pizza slice. I love the chicken to sauce ratio; and it blends perfectly on the thick crust. The taste is outstanding. This is my go to slice here. I also really enjoy their classic plain slices. Perfect amount of crisp and minimal flop. Can't go wrong with the plain slice or a plain pie here. I have also tried their BBQ Chicken and Chicken Parm slices, and they are all so good. No bad toppings or pizza choices here. I highly recommend everyone try this place out! read more

Is this the best pizza in "where the hell am I" New Jersey? I have no idea. This could be the worst pizza on where the hell am I, New Jersey. All I know as a New Yorker who transplanted to Florida 20+ years ago for work, is that this was leaps and bounds better than any slice of pizza I can get in my area in Florida. So, if you're not from the tristate area and driving through, stop here. I can guarantee it's better pizza than you can get at home. If you are from the tristate area, stop here anyway. Ordered pasta and it took close to 3 hours to receive. I understand being busy, but that is ridiculous.

Ordered from this place for a work lunch... kept it simple with an arugula salad with grilled shrimp. Boy oh boy, that shrimp was delicious. Jumbo, perfectly seasoned, and cooked just right. I'd order again for the taste of that shrimp alone. Ordering over the phone was extremely quick and seamless... delivery came earlier than expected. Nice solid experience. read more

Just left here. Pizza was fine, except that one of the slices had a hair. After quietly asking for a replacement slice, the person who I'm assuming is the owner asked to see the hair and then insisted that it didn't match any of them. He then looked at my hair and said it looks like mine. The only problem with his theory was that I wasn't sitting anywhere near that slice. He ended up not charging us, but only after ruining our dinner. read more

I've been ordering pizza from Salerno's for years now. The pizza is very good. I ordered a meatball parmigiana sub tonight. The WORST meatball parmigiana I've ever had! It was not meatballs, it was chop meat! I never complain-I'm the type that likes to compliment but it was so terrible I called them to tell the chef this was not acceptable. When I spoke with the person who answered the phone and asked her to let the chef know how I felt she said "I have another call coming in". Totally disappointed. Turned me off so that I will never get food from them again. Too many other good pizzerias in the area. read more

They are very rude. Not a friendly environment. They got upset and hung up on me because I called it gravy and asked a question. They said they have tomato sauce and hung up and called me an asshole cause I called it gravy. Your food is not all that great. I rather go to a friendly place and that has better food than your not so great food. I've tried enough things on the menu now to say this has become my favorite pizza spot in the area. I haven't tried a single thing I dislike here. As a matter of fact, I love everything I've tried. The pizzas is amazing; with my favorites to date being the buffalo chicken, grandmas, and the vodka. The service here is great; the employees are always prompt and friendly. Tried Salerno's for the first time during the pandemic and ordered the spinach artichoke and the buffalo chicken pizza. Each large pie costs after tax $25 which is pretty expensive for a pie of pizza. It's a fair-valued pizza in that there were generous toppings on the pizza. The spinach artichoke was on a thin crust whereas the buffalo chicken was on a thick crust (because the chicken topping is heavier and needs a thick crust to provide structure). I would choose the spinach artichoke over the buffalo chicken because the buff chick pizza is too heavy for me. I do look forward to trying their margherita pizza. It looks from the other reviews that they are generous on the cheese which is always delicious. My friends and I loved the pizza though it didn't necessarily come out great on the other end. read more

We left message and someone called us back and said the order didn't make it through their system.. even though they charge me and text me to tell me its on the way!!! 12 years in hazlet and have tried every pizza place within a short drive. This continues to be the best with not one negative thing to say "yet". People's complaints on orders being wrong, I have never had a problem. What can you be ordering from a pizza shop that can be messed up? Pizza ordering is the simplest thing to order. My office just moved to the area and I come here once every couple of weeks. Their pizza is SO GOOD. I had a kick where all I ate was the buffalo chicken slice. It's a thick slice that you probably should use a fork and knife to eat. It's loaded with chicken, buffalo sauce and blue cheese. You really can't go wrong with this. I've recently been all about the vodka slice, grandma slice, and a three sauce slice (vodka, marinara, and pesto). They are heavenly! Someone mentioned in their review moving from NYC and loving Salerno's pizza. Well... I will say the opposite. After moving from NYC and having our fave places there for Sicilian pizza (L&B Spumoni Gardens BTW), grandma, white pizza, we've discovered a great pizza place in the Red Bank/Middletown area BUT their wait time is always around 60 to 90 minutes. After reading reviews we've decided to try Salerno's as it is way closer than Red Bank from where we live AND their wait time is 3 times shorter. I've ordered two pies - grandma's and white. Honestly, that was a TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY! The sauce on grandma's pie was SO SWEET it tasted more like having pizza with tomato jam on it White pizza had too much of hard cheese and WAY TOO LITTLE ricotta which made it too dense and overly salty. The crust is great though but the main problem intheor pizza is that it is not balanced in flavor. We ended up just having 1/2 slice each and discarding the rest, though we usually against wasting food and would try to finish what we've ordered. Never ordering from this place again. read more

Ok i hate to be a pizza bigot, and bagel/chinese food for that matter as well, but I'm a NYC transplant and really you cant get good pizza (bagels/chinese too) in nj that compares to nyc. Having said that i did find yoir place to rock. Your pizza, rolls, everything was delicious; save for the meatballs they arent great. I say "was" because the last few times my Margherita pizza with chicken cutlet came "soggy" when i asked that it be well done. Isn't much on the inside but do not fret: what they lack in aesthetics they make up for in flavor. This was one of the first spots I tried when I moved to the area and seven years later it still does not disappoint. Portion sizes on dinners are huge. Specialty pies are phenom. Absolutely the worst food and customer service ever. Some of our food was delivered upside down, there was dressing and hot sauce everywhere. The wings and mozzarella sticks were severely undercooked, the breading was mushy, and both tasted like they were cooked or reheated in a microwave. The penne vodka tasted more like penne in tomato soup, the mushroom pasta house specialty was very dry and tasted like it was just canned mushrooms tossed with some pasta. I called them and asked to speak to a manager or owner regarding my order, the woman who answered asked what was wrong, so I started telling her...she was incredibly rude and dismissive, and asked "well what you do you want?!?" I was shocked by how she was talking to me, so I just asked for a refund...she said something about refunding two items, I said I wanted a full refund...she mumbled something and hung up, so I had to CALL BACK because there was no actual resolution. After the second call I did receive a full refund but that is NO way to do business. If she wasn't so rude and nasty, I would have been ok with a partial refund and would have just never ordered from them again. Instead, here I am....writing a horrible review online....this a first for me. The food, the service...all of it....trash. Go anywhere but here. read more

The pizza is always excellent. Either walking away with a slice or having a pie delivered to your home. The crust is delicious and the cheese seems to be of a higher quality then many other pizza places. You can immediately smell and taste the difference. Highly recommended. read more
