After seeing this place on social media, we've been wanting to come here for dinner. The place is split into two rooms, with the front room having the ordering counter and the second room being the dining room. The dining room is small but comfortable, with the back wall being brick and the entrance to the kitchen being on the side. The leftmost wall is white with horizontal wood panels making up the bottom half. Framed pictures of pizza adorn the kitchen entrance's wall and a mock window display holding large cans of tomato sauce can be seen in the back. The room is also illuminated by string lights and a chandelier as well. Finally, a window at the front of the room has a stained glass art of the Luigi's logo. Not sure if there was a miscommunication , but our server thought we ordered the XL Whole Special pizza, which has sausage, peppers, onion, pepperoni, meatballs and mushrooms. We had actually ordered the XL Whole Veggie pizza, which has spinach, tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, broccoli, and eggplant. She was really apologetic and had a small Veggie pizza made for us on the house. Hubs was worried that it was going to come out of her pocket, so he left her enough to pay for the small veggie pizza. I'm glad we accidentally got the Special because it was delicious and my favorite of the two. Daughter and hubs liked the veggie pizza better, though. We were happy that we had both pies for leftovers. Daughter ordered the Italian Hot Dog and she liked it but wished that there were more hot dogs. Other places served more than 1, so she was hoping for more. LOL. I also got the White Clam Sauce Over Linguini and loved this a lot as well. They were generous with the fresh clams and clam meat. It came with a side of Italian bread. Service was very friendly and quick. If the meals took a little longer, our server would come out to update us. Coming to Luigi's famous pizza the staff were friendly and welcoming. My family ordered mozzarella sticks, buffalo wings and garlic bread as appetizers. The mozzarella sticks were good they just taste like the average sticks you usually get everywhere. And with the buffalo chicken wings were average you can't really mess them up honestly they had a kick to it. Now for the famous pizza that got a 8.1 by Dave Portnoy, the first time I got it the pizza was burnt on the bottom, and the cheese was coming off too easily so it was hard to eat and it was very oily. Now for the second time we got an extra large pizza which was a square pizza and this time it was cooked good but still too cheesy with it coming off and it was still oily , it wasn't crunchy nor it was crispy. The pizza did take almost 40 minutes to come out but it was understandable since it was an extra large but it did take a lengthy time to come out the first time too. read more

Found this place by looking for a taco shop named "queso". The taco shop had no front door so I wandered into Luigi's to see if they shared a door. What I found was they are the same restaurant. Likely the brain child of a trusted chef or family member. I asked for a menu and noticed pizza side menu and switched it up. I could tell the taco shop was a afterthought so I stuck with the main event. The pizzeria does not have any indoor seating area and appears to have a monstrous building with only a very small vestibule and counter area. The kid helping me had to go to another room to see what pizza slices they had, I couldn't see them. Annoying. So I picked off what I thought would be a hit, vodka Detroit, rustic and margarita. The slices were thrown in a box and I didn't see them until I open it in my car (remember, the huge building and no seating) boy o boy... These slices were tired looking and so dry I stopped eating it. I've never stopped eating pizza, ever. That dry. The vodka Detroit was no where near a Detroit style, it was a Sicilian as there was no cheese overrunning the crust and the cheese was looking for a sauce friend as that was minimal at best. Dry. The other two were likely made at 11am and it was now dinner time. If I could've seen them, I wouldn't have got them. Not happy. Weird setup and tired pizza, be watchful. read more

I called tonight after I got off GSP exit 117 at 8:10pm to pick up a pizza. I was told they were closing. I passed at 8:20pm and OPEN sign lit and girl at counter. I called Julio's Atlantic Highlands. I check Luigi website and they close at 9pm or 10pm some nights. Not ever than a few people in there whenever I pass so why turn away business? Too many other good places to order from that want to make a pie for you than lie about closing. read more

Luigi's is famous for their pizza especially the extra large square pie. I think they are the best pie around and many times you have to wait for it. Had the opportunity to enjoy Luigi's again ~ pizza one night which was amazing. Pipping hot ~ the crust is crisp and delicious. The next night I enjoyed the homemade cheese tortellini. Instead of the marinara sauce I ask if the chef would make a carbonaro sauce ~ but without bacon. It was a beautiful smooth cream sauce with peas and large slices of sweet onion. Ordered an Italian sub. I feel the ham or meats were not good. Had an old taste. Ordered it with mayo didn't come with it. Ordered a Cajun wrap. Was supposed to come w lettuce and tomato. They missed that too. Ordered a chicken Caesar wrap. Came w tomatoes. I feel the girl who took the order was either new or just couldn't write it down right. HORRIBLE. We ordered two pasta meals for delivery. The meals both "included" salads. When the delivery man came he said they didn't have the salads because there is a recall on romaine. I wasnt informed on the phone. I'm pretty sure this wasnt information that only came about within less than an hour of me placing the order. I opened the containers and all we got were two SMALL servings of pasta with no bread. I felt like crying. I paid $42 just for that! Is this a nyc restaurant or lincroft?? Great food, great service and great people! There isn't a better local pizza joint worth supporting more than Luigis.

We have been a delivery customer of Luigi's for years. But lately it seems to be getting way too expensive for the quality of the food. The portions and extras have also been reduced (no more salads with takeout dinners and less portion size (e.g. used to get 6 shrimp on some dinners but now only get 5). Given the overall quality of the food at these expensive prices and less portions sizes etc it is no longer worth it. I am done with them. They could blame COVID which I get for many restaurants, but they are basically a take out / delivery place and seemed to be very busy all throughout the pandemic. read more
