Easily one of my favorite pizza places! I have tried them a couple times so far, and each time I've loved it. Honey on their margherita pizza is a real game changer. The honey roni option is also delicious if you're a fan of pepperoni. A slice of their BBQ chicken is mouthwatering! I also recommend the chicken ranchero. Their pizzas are yummy, crispy, and not too greasy. Their desserts are also yummy, and I would definitely recommend their cannolis and chocolate chip cookies. The employees here are super warm and welcoming. If you choose to dine in, they have a small but clean dining area where you can easily find a seat to grab a quick bite. Their loyalty program sends out a decent amount of offers as well! read more

Delicious pizza! We ordered out from here, so I can't speak to the decor, but the pizza was great. We had the Brooklyn upside down, vodka hot honey roni, and a meatball pie. All pizzas were super flavorful and the crust was... chefs kiss! We also had a Caesar salad and buffalo wings which were good but a bit more of your typical variety. I have to give Amano Pizza in Matawan 5 stars because it's the best pizza place in the area for sure! Their upside Sicilian is FANTASTIC! I have not had a better upside slice in all the places I went to in Middlesex or Monmouth County thus far. The sauce is so flavorful and absolutely delicious! It has a nice crisp on the bottom too. The pizza here is crispy, and they don't skimp on quality ingredients or cheese. My next favorite is the white slice with broccoli, and it's even better when I add tomatoes too. I love the quality ricotta cheese and again they don't skimp! The margarita here is also delicious here, but every time I come it's rarely available. They say their grandma square slice is similar, but the actual Margarita slice is much better. My husband loves their regular cheese slice! I highly recommend Amano's in Matawan! read more

I tried the upside down Brooklyn pizza and was surprised when I received a behemoth of a pizza. The pizza was good and I enjoyed the sauce. The bread was airy and light even though it was thick. The garlic knots were good too but the pizza was the star. I would get the upside down pie again but maybe just a slice or if I'm with a large group. Especially with the $66 tab. They gave me a pie with raw onions. Totally different vibe. The crust was so hard it seemed like it was par-baked the day before. I drove 30 min out my way to try it. Scum of the earth and I recommend that everyone avoid this establishment going forward. Ordered the pasta special @ $19.99. Got my food all was fine. Today notice the charge changed from $27 to $43.01. Checked the receipt to see a half assed explanation that sides cost more when no where on their site or app does it specify that (see pics). No one called me, the delivery driver made no mention of this. Been a customer since they opened and have spent thousands of dollars over the years keeping these fucker's open. Needless to say I will never ever buy from you guys again. I will make sure the whole of the internet knows of this shady business practice and will be in touch with the BBB and chamber of commerce. Just ordered a takeout large plain pie today for lunch and I have to say it was fantastic. The crust was good. The amount of cheese was great. Got the grandma pie. Told the gentleman I would be there at 850pm to pick it up he told me he would wait 1" mins to put it in oven so it was hot and fresh. It was perfectly timed. In an area that is absolutely positively saturated with pizza shops amano's stands out from the rest. Best pizza in matawan bar none and they have the best customer service out of all the pizza shops in the area that I've been too. I can tell that the guys love where they work. And the food is great, so long as you stick to the standard pizza staples. Their pastas need more work, but really that's not what you wanna go here for anyway. There pizza is great, especially if you love thin crust, and their portions are really generous relative to the price you pay. No shrinkflation here. I love to support local businesses, however, sometimes it falls short which was my experience at Amano's. My penne vodka slice was excellent and full of great flavor. However, the Buffalo chicken slice lacked the spicy taste we were expecting and was missing flavor. The unfortunate part to this was the lack of service provided. We walked in and approached the counter to place our order. The young tall man with the dark curly hair ignored us while he continued to answer three phone calls and place their orders without taking ours. He was asked two different times by the guy making the pizza to take our's first before answering another call, but he ignored him and continued answering the phone and placing other orders. Finally the guy making the pizza's got annoyed and came over to the register to take our order. Overall, I recommend calling ahead to place your order to avoid being ignored. read more

I loved the upside-down Brooklyn slice (even better than L+B in my opinion) , I also tried the BBQ chicken, both were amazing.
