    Truffle pizza
    Daniel W.

Salina is just what this side of the valley needed! Hands down the best Italian I've had in a while. I started with the arugula salad (not pictured) , 2nd course was the truffle pizza which had a nice truffle flavor and perfectly cooked mushrooms, 3rd course was the spicy vodka pasta. Everything was a 10/10 but the vodka pasta was probably the best I've ever had. The ambiance was cool and service was great, I will be back soon to try the rest of the menu.

Hubby and I did a walk in. There was a long wait for the table, but managed to get seats at the bar. Bartenders were friendly. Pros: -Caprese salad - so light and refreshing. Lovely dish. - Pork chop - requested for easy salt. By far one of the best pork chops we've had. So tender and it complemented with the salsa. Great quality! -Prime Rib - can easily be shared with 2 pple. Very tender. Perfectly cooked. -Mashed potato - so smooth and buttery. -Fries - very crispy and lightly salted. Cons: -Broccolini- I love my veggies, but I didn't enjoy this side dish one bit. It was overly salty!! Not a fan! I really suggest to cut down the salt. -Calamari - great spice and crunch, but again it was overly salty. Please cut down the salt. Besides the salt issue, the overall meal was pleasant. We'll definitely be back to try the pasta.

It's a cute spot and definitely something different from what we have in Porter Ranch. The staff really stood out and everyone was so friendly and welcoming, which I genuinely appreciated. That said, the food was just okay and nothing particularly memorable. I've definitely had better. The cocktails also need some work, I tried two different ones and was disappointed with both. The only standout for me was the Caesar salad, which I actually really enjoyed.

If you haven't been to Salina in Porter Ranch yet...Gooooo!!! This is hands down the newest hot spot in town, and I'm already planning my next visit maybe even tomorrow :). I stopped by tonight 4.2.26 (their second day open!) and was completely blown away. I was short on time, but even a quick visit turned into such a memorable experience. We were seated on the patio, which is nicely covered with heaters which is perfect for those chilly, windy evenings. I highly recommend bringing a jacket just in case. Inside, the restaurant is spacious with super comfortable seating and plenty of room for larger groups. I can already see this place becoming the go-to for birthdays, girls' nights, family dinners and fun celebrations. The bar is absolutely stunning!!! While seating is at the bar is a bit limited, it's beautifully designed with cozy booths along the side. Huge shot out to Christopher and Dominic the bartenders. They were incredible!!! Sooo friendly, great energy, and they made one of the best lemon drops I've ever had. They have a variety of menu items, veg and non veg. Pastas, pizza, branzino, hummus, meatballs, bruschetta, sirloin steak. Sooooo much. I wish I could have tried more...But let's talk about the food that we ordered tonight...I ordered the vodka pasta and the spaghetti and meatballs. The vodka pasta was packed with flavor and cooked perfectly, not too al dente, just right. It even had a slight crispiness from breadcrumbs, which I loved. If you're a burrata fan, I highly recommend adding it, it melts beautifully into the pasta and takes it to another level. However, a side of burrata is a little on the pricier side $12 for one. The spaghetti and meatballs were solid. But the real STAR of the night.... The affogato!!!! The soft serve was unbelievably creamy, honestly one of the best I've ever had. Paired with espresso, it was pure heaven! I am already craving it again. But let's talk..Service... Impeccable. I know they just opened, but the attention to detail was impressive. Our server, Gaby, was an absolute Gem she was so warm, personable, and attentive. Jazell and the rest of the staff were constantly checking in and keeping everything flowing seamlessly. In addition, the General Manager even came to our table to check in on us which was so nice. I also heard they plan to keep the bar open after hours once the restaurant closes, which is such a fun bonus. Overall, we had aaaahhhmazing experience from start to finish. I already know this place is going to be the spot everyone's talking about. Can't wait to come back and bring all my friends. I already know after my review the whole Porter Ranch crew will be stopping by. Lol YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!! Tell the staff I sent you :) You are welcome! So happy this place opened up, we needed a nice restaurant in this area and this hit the mark. Looking forward to trying their other dishes especially the appetizers.

I had been waiting for this place to open in The Vineyards of Porter Ranch and it is officially open and taking reservations. I went with a group of friends and we ordered a wide variety of dishes. If you're looking for fresh Italian cuisine, this spot is definitely worth checking out. For starters: *Truffle Fries-24mo parmesan, truffle aioli *Hummus-with artichoke hearts, served with pizza bianca *Hokkaido Scallops-served raw with capers and wasabi vinaigrette *Arugula Salad-tossed with lemon vinaigrette and midnight moon cheese *Castelvtrano Olives- 24mo parmesan For mains: *Aglio E Oli-garlic, chili, parsley, with spaghettini . *Arugula Salad-tossed with lemon vinaigrette and midnight moon cheese *Margherita Pizza-tomato, garlic, 24mo parmesan, bufalo mozzarella, basil *Funghi Pizza-truffle cream, cremini, 24mo parmesan For dessert: *Tiramisu-topped with salted coffee caramel and chocolate crisps *Panna Cotta-with amaretto caramel and vanilla mascarpone cream Overall, a really strong first impression. I will definitely be coming back and want to try more of their pasta. Parking is also super easy since it's located in a large shopping center with plenty of free parking.

We have been waiting for this place to open. We sat at the outdoor patio since we love to bring our dog. It's a nice covered patio. We had the mushroom pizza, Cesar salad, bolognese pasta and the soft serve swirl. Everything was delicious!!! Although this place just opened, service was great as well. Everyone is so friendly. There isn't a happy hour yet but definitely can't wait for happy hour as the bar area is really pretty! So glad this place opened in the Porter Ranch area, a very nice addition!

This place was good. I really enjoys the appetizers. We had Brussels sprouts, bruschetta, calamari, meat balls and shrimp cocktail. All of those are must haves. Cesar salad, was amazing!!! That was probably my favorite thing of the night. I was sooo excited for my entree since all the appetizer were AMAZING. I was underwhelmed with the entrees. I had bolognese and it lack the flavors all the other dishes had. It just missed the mark for me. Our waitress was nice and attentive but our drinks took quite long to come out. Good came out decently timed. This is definitely a nice place for brunch or dinner. They have an outside patio for a nice night out. This place is good for larger parties. Reservations encouraged.

I made a reservation for 7:30pm. When I showed up at 7:10pm, the hostess said to wait til the exact time of the reservation... there were plenty of open tables but ok sure. Not even a minute later (lol) she took us to a table tucked in the back corner of the restaurant that feels so different from the point of entry. Much louder. Cramped. Next to the double doors to the kitchen and the cash register. Food took a long time to come out. The waitress had to reassure us 3 times that it'll be out soon (she was nice, I liked her). The pizza was not pre-cut, they give you a pair of scissors to cut it yourself. Interesting... never seen that before. It's about a medium domino's pizza size. We also had the Caesar salad, also not pre-cut but it was pretty good flavor/texture-wise. Skip the bolognese pasta. I enjoyed the vodka pasta out of everything we got. Lastly, this place doesn't do a cork fee. Instead, they charge you $14 per glass if you BYOB. Very interesting.......

Salina opened on April 1. Our Friday date night had an Italian and Mediterranean affair. The food we ordered, did not disappoint. We sat at the bar to eat our meal given that it was a two hour wait. I encourage the team to continue to let this happen organically. The bar service was on point and folks we spoke to at the bar, were happy with their choices and we were too. If you're not careful, it can be an expensive meal with drinks, appetizers, main course, and dessert. Everything was soooooo good and I recommend that the kitchen have "runners" or create a team environment so "hands" are ready to deliver orders so pasta and other items don't come out lukewarm. I will go here again and again. That's just how good the food is and it's right next to one of my other favorites, Lure. Salina is good and I highly recommend reservations! #foodie #chefs #restauranteur #chefskiss

Made a reservation for two on a Saturday afternoon and were seated outside which was a lovely, peaceful setting. We started with the scallops, calamari, and Caesar salad. The scallops and Caesar were both outstanding, though the calamari wasn't quite to my taste. The spicy vodka pasta was an absolute 10/10 truly delicious. We also ordered a bottle of wine; they keep it chilled at their server station, so just ask when you'd like a top off. Our server was attentive and made the whole experience even better. I'll definitely be back.

Salina, is the recent highly anticipated Italian Mediterranean restaurant, to enter the amazing and still burgeoning dining destination, at the Porter Ranch Vineyards. It is the newest concept addition to the No. 8 group, spearheaded by the restarateur and hospitality team, of Cyrus Batchan and Sarah Lam. Their current portfolio is limited to only five eateries. In Vietnam (two) and the U.S. (three). Most notably, their celebrated one star Michelin restaurant, Camphor, on E 3rd, in Los Angeles. When Salina opened, it was disappointing that even before and after launch, there was no functional website. Therefore, no depiction of a menu or even hours of operation. After much digital digging, I located an internet menu on a third party website or two, that lacked photographic clarity. So was still not sure, what is on the menu. At the onset, the offerings at Salina seemed a "run of the mill" spread, with a small menu and a selection of items you could find anywhere else. And almost next door. I am always looking for something different. I chose the meat balls and the mashed potatoes (actually a puree). The former came out attractive, the latter (with a garlic confit) so very tasty. Yet, both items came to my table less than luke warm. After a few bites, that was a problem. The server was standing next to me. I requested more heating of both dishes. She refused and stated that she had to ask the manager. Really? When the manager got to me he also said he could not reheat, "what comes out from the kitchen, cannot go back". Really? I was persistent. Stating that in numerous restaurants, this has never been an issue. Not only to reheat, even recook or at that matter, substitute. My visit here was a revelation. A rebuke I have never experienced before. So what is the verdict? Nothing different. No uniqueness. A lack of creativity. No awesome dish. Not attractive. Unimpressive. And horrible customer service.

When you walk into Salina it has an intimate yet family restaurant feeling. The bar area is a bit small bit big enough where you can sit and eat a meal. When you walk in, the hosts open up the door for you and greeted with a warm smile. The staff is all super friendly and warm. They make sure that you are taken care of. The food is so delicious and you can taste the quality of the food. I have absolutely no complaints about the food. The food did take a little longer so they gave us an olive dish. The olives were so smokey and delicious. I would say they make delicious pizzas and pastas. The porkchop and branzino was also very delicious. The general manager whose name is think is Les greets all his customers and makes sure they are well taken care of.

Everything was absolutely delicious! You really can't go wrong with any choices on the menu. Everything we cooked to perfection with a lot of flavor. Also, if you sit at the hightop bar, the kitchen is an open concept so you can watch the chefs cook and plate the food. As far as the drinks, I am not sure if they have a full bar but they do have a few selection of wine along with a small cocktail menu. I stuck with the cucumber basil (with tequila). Flavorful and refreshing. Street parking may be hard to find but they do have valet parking for $12. Overall, it's worth a visit. I look forward to dining here again.

Sitting at the bar was definitely a plus because we got to watch the chefs cook throughout the night. We ordered the spicy pomodoro, squid ink mafaldine, and steak tartare, along with a sauvignon blanc and merlot to pair with the pasta. The steak tartare was good, but it was lacking a bit of flavor. The bread that came with it was perfectly toasted and honestly my favorite part of the dish. The spicy pomodoro was perfectly al dente and flavorful but it didn't really live up to the hype for me. I couldn't taste any truffle and it wasn't spicy at all. It was still a good pasta, just not life changing. The squid ink mafaldine was unfortunately pretty lackluster. The pasta tasted like al dente salt water, the prawns were overcooked, and it felt like they just threw a handful of raw basil on top and called it a day. The wines were good and paired well with the food but there wasn't anything particularly memorable about them. Service was great. Our server was super attentive and helpful. Overall, I enjoyed the experience. The atmosphere was great, service was on point, and even though some dishes fell short, I'd definitely come back to try their other dishes!

Still stands-up to the hype after all these years…read more If "Trendy" was a restaurant, Bestia would easily be in top contention, even after being around for more than a decade. That says a lot. Once upon a time (a few years ago), my CFP + banking institution wanted to thank me for being one of their top private clients. They expressed their gratitude with a very generous, all expense paid full-course meal at Bestia. To say that I was impressed would be an understatement. Fast forward to now, I knew that coming back here would be a good idea. Make no mistake, even if you try to book a reservation several weeks in-advance, don't be surprised if the only available seats are at the counter. Granted, I was in a spacey table during my past visit, the counter can be an enjoyable & unintentionally entertaining space. It's great for a more casual vibe, as you get to see some of the kitchen workers put together some of their signature dishes. In many ways, Bestia seems like a microcosm of the city that it rather humbly resides within. What always catches me off-guard, is that the surrounding simple area really doesn't reflect the happening, vibrant, night-life that resides within the building's walls. You feel like you're taken so a different, very social, very bustling world. WINE: Podere 72, Poderi San Lazzaro (Marche region, central Italy) - 8.7 / 10 A very robust blend of Montepulciano & Sangiovese grapes that results in a balanced, medium bodied red wine that stands-up to heartiness of a beef ribeye steak. FOOD: Roasted Bone Marrow - 9.4/ 10 I have several friends that go here just for this particular dish. Funny enough, one can almost always tell that one is at Bestia because of the rather peculiar manner in which this dish is served. Hot, melted bone marrow is appropriately scooped out of the bone & poured onto spinach gnocchetti. It's like eating beef flavored mouth pillows of potato + spinach. It's definitely a dish that will impress whoever you are with. I can never resist ordering this whenever I am here. Oxtail alla Vaccinara - 8.9 / 10 The deep, rich maroon color of the rigatoni (thanks to beets) is a sight to behold. The pasta is firm but not too hard. It's a humble yet complex pasta dish that complements any main course. 26oz Margaret River Wagyu Ribeye - 9.4 / 10 Anybody who knows me knows that I love my ribeye. Any decent fancy restaurant does a ribeye. But no one does a ribeye quite like Bestia. The fermented mushroom cream delivers a punch of pungence not unlike a delectable dijon mustard, but to the highest of levels. This dish also makes me a believer in well-cooked onions served alongside steak. I usually like to take a home a portion of ribeye for later, but this is one of the very few instances when the steak is so good, that I can't help but finish it here. Again, the portion is more than enough to be shared. Fromage Blanc Mousse - 9.1 / 10 This seasonal dish hits all the right notes. It's the fanciest of cheesecakes, so I recommend sharing this. With its decadence, a little truly goes a long way & that's perfectly fine. The richness of the cheese is offset perfectly by the right balance of candied kumquats. A great "bite" to end on. Huge shout-out & thanks to Radu for being the nicest & most enthusiastic of servers. It's little things like him being so down to take pics of you with your party that really make me want to come back here. It the owners / management is reading this, please recognize how pivotal he is to your team. If he was working under me, I would most definitely give him a raise. Also, shout-out to Dani at the hostess stand. She is one of the most personable people. For being the first person that patrons see upon entering, she is the perfect face, attitude, & welcoming personality that the hospitality industry is in dire need of. She's a rockstar of a hostess & a pleasure to talk with. Bestia is a better place because of valuable employees like Radu & Dani. As always, come for the food. Come back for the service. I would definitely come back because of how amazing Radu & Dani are. Years after the hype, the vibe is still very much happening at Bestia.

The biggest disappointment was the service. Our server was unwilling to accommodate even simple requests. One friend in our group doesn't drink, and when we asked if her mocktail could be served in a cocktail glass so she could feel included, he simply said no. He also refused to make an espresso martini despite having the ingredients available. To make matters worse, one of our dishes never arrived. When we brought it up, the server responded, "I asked you if it came out and you said yes," instead of apologizing for the mistake. Everything we've tried has been excellent, and it's one of those rare restaurants where every dish feels like a hit. The Caesar salad is easily one of the best I've had. Every piece of lettuce is perfectly coated in dressing, the croutons are great, and the mountain of freshly grated cheese takes it over the top. The garlic bread is unreal. If you order the prawns, do yourself a favor and dip the bread into that buttery garlic sauce, spoon some extra sauce on top, and eat it while it's soaked. It's ridiculous. The Alla Vodka pasta is always a safe choice, rich and comforting without being too heavy. The lasagna came out with a beautifully crisp top straight from the oven and was packed with flavor. The potatoes were another surprise favorite--super crispy and served with a house-made aioli that made them impossible to stop eating. The chicken parm was excellent too: crispy, fresh, loaded with sauce, and exactly what you want from a classic Italian-American dish. The meal ended on a high note with complimentary limoncello shots from the house. For dessert, we had the tiramisu and panna cotta. The panna cotta had a subtle basil flavor that made it unique and memorable, while the tiramisu was honestly one of the best I've ever had--light, creamy, and perfectly balanced. Service was fantastic. The staff was friendly, funny, and genuinely welcoming. We made a reservation for Thursday night just incase there was a wait. Upon arrival, we noticed they were very busy and the wait was pretty long so I do recommend making a reservation a least a few days before arrival. The hostess sat us after 5-10 min, the whole restaurant was BUZZING with people and dates. The restaurant overall was fairly small and intimate so it's understandable why the wait would be long. The server, Robert, was extremely friendly when he greeted us. He recommended a few cocktails to us and apps. We grabbed a few cocktails and got their garlic bread and cesar salad for the table. The garlic bread was good but honestly a pass for the future visit. The cesar salad was really good and refreshing so we will forsure get another. I, personally, got the Limoncello Drop (Their twist on a limoncello and lemon drop martini) which was delicious! I highly recommend getting one, it's extremely light, refreshing and zesty. For the mains, We decided on the chicken marsala, spaghetti & meatballs, and Fusilli alla vodka. The chicken marsala was extremely juicy and flavorful while it's smothered in onions and mushrooms. The spaghetti was decent, alittle bland and lacking flavor so we'd pass on it next time. The Fusilli alla vodka was our favorite though! The flavor is the chilis and vodka sauce work well together and the pasta was cooked very well. I got extra calabrian chilis for the pasta which complimented the pasta very well. We noted that the vodka is a MUST in the future. For dessert, since we were celebrating my boyfriend's birthday, we got the olive oil cake which was soooo delicious. They do NOT offer free or complimentary dessert for birthdays (which we didn't expect nor want) so just a heads up! The cake was really moist and flavorful yet did strongly taste like oil (kinda obvious). The did put a candle and whip creme on top for us to sing which was really cute. Overall, I recommend stopping in for a cute date night or to celebrate birthdays! The staff was really nice and funny. Most of the food was really yummy and flavorful. Plus all of the cocktails were a decent price point and full of flavor and ingredients. I will for sure be back soon to try more and grab another Limoncello drop martini!!

The Caesar salad was really good, and the branzino was honestly one of the best I've ever had - great presentation too. The kitchen staff in the back were some latino dudes but tbey clearly know what they're doing because the food tasted very authentic and well executed. I'm giving 3 stars for service because we waited way too long for our bottle of wine. When it finally came out, it wasn't the bottle I ordered, and our waitress Lauren insisted it was the same thing, which felt insulting because it was obviously not the same vintage - it was off by two years. At that point, I just wanted some wine already, so l let it go. That said, the ambiance was great, and the food alone makes this place worth visiting.

We stopped here on our way home from our honeymoon, and it turned out to be a great choice to end the trip on a high note. The service was genuinely excellent. We had a reservation for two, were warmly welcomed, and our server did an outstanding job throughout the evening. In Los Angeles, it can be hard to find places where the staff actually seems to enjoy what they do, and this was a refreshing exception. As for the food, it was a bit of a mixed experience. The margherita pizza was the one that disappointed me the most, mostly because I had high expectations. I love a good margherita, but this one had too much cheese and sauce and not enough basil, so it ended up tasting more like a plain cheese pizza, which is honestly my least favorite. That said, the crust was absolutely sensational. The meatballs were decent but could have used more salt. The desserts, however, were the highlight of the meal. When we mentioned it was our honeymoon, the staff surprised us with a complimentary olive oil cake, which was my first time trying one and it was wonderful. The fried dough with Nutella was also amazing. The desserts here are generous, well-made, and absolutely worth saving room for. Overall, a lovely experience with room for improvement on the savory side.

The experience did not disappoint -- it was beautiful from beginning to end. Our extraordinary server was James. He was engaging, attentive and unpretentious. His knowledge of the menu was impressive as he explained each section and item in a simplified way. After making our choices, he suggested changing one of our pasta selections since they all had heavy sauces. We accepted his recommendation of the Spaghetti Arrabbiata, which turned out to be everyone's favorite! The tomato-based sauce was light and perfectly spicy. Everything and I mean EVERYTHING was amazing. The focaccia, oxtail meatballs and burrata with ham were a great start, showcasing the quality of the ingredients and thoughtful preparations -- they set the tone for our entire meal. The taste and texture of the freshly made pastas were unmistakable and so, so good with the wonderful sauces. The lamb chops were well-seasoned and cooked to perfection. I especially enjoyed the bed of sliced snow peas, green beans and English peas set over mint sauce. After all that, we had just enough room for shared desserts -- Budino and Tiramisu. Both were the perfect finish to a delicious meal. If you like chocolate, the Budino is for you -- rich but not overly sweet. Each yummy bite with the crumble topping was nicely balanced by the sprinkled salt. Service was impeccable and well-coordinated. We especially appreciated that dishes and utensils were changed after each course. A couple things to keep in mind: *Reservations - Via Resy. The reservation window is open 14 days at a time. *Parking - Valet is right in front. We found street parking just around the corner on Sunset (metered but free after 7pm). *Price Point - Approximately $100 per person. Mother Wolf is a cashless establishment. A 5% wellness fee is added to all checks. We will absolutely be back!
