This is my Sally's store! I love that I can come here in a pinch when looking for beauty supplies. Year after year Sally satisfies! From polish to lashes, dyes and bleaches they have it all! The only thing I will say is that the quality of some of the employees has gone down and there seems to be different people every time that I go. It's been a looOoong time since I've been back to shop here. Let's just say that I had the exact opposite experience from my last visit. And, that's not a bad thing. We were greeted right away, and the associate asked us if we needed help finding something. We did, and she showed us where it was, and she even got it off the shelf for us! She told us to let her know if we needed anything else, and then she went to work stocking the shelves. I noticed she also greeted the next customer that walked in. We browsed the rest of the aisles, and when we were ready to pay, she met us at the front right away. She thanked us for coming in, and we thanked her back for all her helpfulness. Don't know why this place is so badly reviewed, but the ladies who work here are always helpful in assisting me. I mostly buy hair dye here and they always have a good amount of stock. I love that the associates always ask if I have all the necessary materials when I buy hair dye (gloves, developer, etc). There are some sections of the store that aren't always full such as the nail aisle. I'm not sure if they don't have a lot of stock or if they just sell out quickly. If you're a regular, make sure to sign up for their rewards to earn points for future purchases. read more

In my opinion, the employees at Sally Beauty Supply of Eastlake provide inept customer service. I tried using the curbside pick-up service, and it was just a disaster, a waste of time. Sally's website doesn't keep an update of inventory, and if you call the store, you have to have patience with the lack of product knowledge of the employees. Having patience is hard to do when there are apathy and arrogance in the employees' demeanor. Trying to make a purchase at this store is like trying to renew a driver's license or getting a new car registration, a dreadful process. Bottom Line: DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. I came to write a review about the terrible customer service and it looks like things have not changed for a while here considering all these other reviews. During a recent visit, we were bombarded with unsolicited and inappropriate advice from a younger employee. We were looking for bleach for a friend, and she had assumed it was for the person I was with who had previously bleached and dyed hair, and had made snide comments about her hair saying (as a direct quote), "You aren't planning on bleaching your hair again, are you?" After we had said no, when we went to go check out she again assumed it was for my other friend who was with us and demanded he take off his hat, saying "Show me your hair." I believe all of this to be extremely inappropriate and unacceptable. I really really wasn't sure if I wanted to post this review or not but the more I thought about it the more upset I became and just thought that people deserve to know what they're getting themselves into when they go to this establishment. read more

I came to this store to return OPI nail polishes that I bought online. My package didn't arrive with a packing slip so my return was more complicated than it should've been. Raquel (I want to say that she's the store manager but not sure) helped me with my refund. A simple refund that should've only taken less than 10 minutes turned into an hour. I appreciated her patience with helping me get my refund back to my credit card instead of store credit. She was a great multi-tasker trying to professionally manage customers while simultaneously being on the phone Sally's technical line to get my issue resolved. She is super down-to-earth, positive vibes, willing to extend her help to get an issue resolved, and friendly. I want to give a shoutout to Maribel, Audrey and Tye. They gave me great service. I was greeted me right away, and asked if I needed help. I showed a picture of the hair color I wanted, and they were very knowledgeable on my needs. Unfortunately, there wasn't any navy blue in Demi-permanent like I had originally wanted, but they helped direct me in the correct direction. They also showed me their promotions going on, which was awesome because I ended up buying great products because of them. Finally, a Sally's in the Otay/Eastlake area! The closest ones are miles away down the freeway in National City or San Diego. Now that this store is close by, it's much more accessible and I'll probably be stopping by often to browse just because. They've got a pretty good selection and decent prices. I haven't been to a Sally's in a while, but it seemed pretty tiny to others I've been to before. There's 3 aisles, most of which containing hair supplies, products and tools. From what I noticed, the middle and right aisle were dedicated to hair care - combs, brushes, shampoo, product, styling tools, extensions, etc. There's lots to browse through and you're bound to leave with more than what you intended to purchase in the first place. The left aisle was a mix of skin care, make up and nail polish and nail care. The nail polish and make up supply seems limited. I was hoping for more nail polish brands and selection. The make up supply seemed even smaller than their nail polish selection. I got 3 for the buy 2 get one free deal. Overall, I'm glad we have a Sally's around! I'd probably look elsewhere for nail polish or make up, but this place is great if you're looking to find new hair products especially if you're tired of your usual generic drugstore brands. read more

I went to this location because I was in the area.. I was happy that they had everything that I needed however when I went to pay,I'm a licensed cosmetologist so I pay with checks.. well Leslie didn't know what to do she had never had anyone with a check.. she looked through books but got no luck... however she never asked for my number so that I could confirm that my information was correct. I called another Sally's so she would know what she was suppose to write on my check. She then called someone however she never wrote the information on my check...she never even got my number so I could receive my discount then she just start putting ,which she claimed was my information and said the check was declined. I asked her to call someone because I knew that to be wrong and she just called them and said I put her information and it was declined.. she saint say she never asked for my number nor did she write the info on the check nor did she try and run it through.. nothing... I went to another location and had no problem.. I called to ask her name and her managers name and told her she needs to learn how to process the checks because she made me feel like shit. She just kept saying it declined but she then went on to say I don't appreciate you cursing at me and hung up in my face. I never cursed at her I told her how she made me feel. I will be calling her manager to make sure they teach her how to process a check or maybe my check just wasn't good because I was the black lady writing the check... she almost messed up my day because I then got nervous thinking did someone get into my account etc.. as soon as I got to another Sally's everything was done in the proper order and my check went through as it always does and I didn't have to feel like crap.. then when you give advice she hangs the phone up in my face.. I called back and told her if she knew how to do her job she wouldn't have to hang up in peoples face... WORST SERVICE EVER I WILL NEVER GO TO THAT LOCATION EVER!!!! read more

I perused through here looking for men's hair styling products. I asked if they had any Paul Mitchell based stuff. The lady showed me an off brand that was labeled generic but equal to Paul Mitchell...so that's a no. It was about half the price of what a real Paul Mitchell product would cost. To each their own but I would rather get the real stuff because I know it holds well for my hair. The lady also recommended me to the barber next door for some other products they sell. She was actually really polite and helpful. Not sure if they sell any real branded products here based off this one visit. But if I need a do rag they sell them here...score! read more

Went in just to look and there were sale stickers 50% off on liter shampoo. The stickers were posted in different parts of the store. When I'm ready to pay it's normal price. I asked her to honor it since it's posted on most displays. She said No. that since it's was just her opening she hadn't taken them down. She went on and showed me the promotions for the week. If it was advertised they should honor it. She did the same thing to an older lady she helped. Maybe they should take advertisement stickers off the night before so customers don't assume they are getting a deal and when they get to the register it comes up regular price. read more

Store is okay , I usually only go here on rare occasion . I didn't appreciate my experience of literally being watched and baby sat like I'm going to steal something in the hair color aisle . The sales girl wasn't even trying to be busy she literally directed me to the color aisle where artic Fox was and stood next to me and walked me back to the cashier . Maybe keep all the direct dye colors behind the counter then if you are so worried about shrinkage. read more

Love this place it always has everything that I need when it comes to my hair. The most recent product that I absolutely love is the root touch up in an aerosol can. So out of annoyance I just started picking up products and asking her questions, SHE DIDN'T KNOW ANYTHING! There was a gentleman that was shopping and I one asked him if he needed help. So I asked him was he shopping for his daughter, he said sadly yes. It's bad that I sent him to Walmart and or Ulta with specific instructions after he described his daughters hair to me. Not only did I help him, it I told him don't ever come here again since 1) the sales associate didn't asked if you needed help, 2) they have cheaper and better products else where!!! 2) it's like the sales associates try to avoid you as much as possible. You come in and they continue to talk about gossips. 3) Being a women of curly hair I feel there should be products that we can buy at Sally's. There are more varieties of curly hair products but not a available at this Sally's. So since barely any are sold here, I have to order off the internet. Awful customer service here. I was incredibly happy to see that Eastlake finally had their own Sally's but after a few trips here I would not be returning. The sales people are consistently rude. They open their stores later than the indicated time on the door, they are either always chatting with each other instead of helping customers or they are on the phone. FYI, amazon sells many of their products cheaper or at the same price with a much higher level of customer service. Will NOT shop here again!! read more

I get my hair coloring products here and the stock is rarely an issue. The people have always been pretty friendly. My only issue is the staff here does not understand their own promos or coupons well. They have questioned why I have an email coupon if I don't have a card, I've had old sale tags be up n they've had to go check before completing my sale, I've had them tell me I couldn't use a coupon on my purchase because I could only buy 1 thing not 3. The latter I called customer service and they confirmed I could use it and contacted the store to tell them how to apply it...I never bothered to go back but it's concerning they don't keep on top of potential current promos and coupons read more

Second visit to this location& both times, I was not greeted. On the first visit there were two employees but they were so busy talking to each other that they never even looked up @ me. I looked around, for a good bit & walked up each aisle with no help. I finally had to go ask one of them a question to which she was a bit helpful. I bought a few items & she was polite during our transaction. Second visit yesterday was even worse. One employee with her back to the door, never looked up, didn't say a word. Looked around for about 5 min for certain products & could have used some help but nope, nothing. Picked up a few things but as I walked to the front, put them on a shelf, & she FINALLY looks up & says can I help you...I just walk out saying nope, great customer service. So sad that most of the reviews have been about the customer service. It seems people are happy to have a Sally's in Eastlake, but who wants to shop there if they if they can't even give a friendly hi as you walk in?
