No stars! My daughter in law interviewed today with Sam's beauty in Melrose Park. Her race was all the hiring manager focused on. She implied her looking white was not what they were looking for. I come here frequently for my daughters hair products. With that being said they do have a nice selection for the most part. I give this place 2 stars because I'm so uncomfortable every time I shop here. I get it people steal but it just makes me uncomfortable how I'm watched. The customer service Is very poor. I also think it's ironic that for selling a lot of products for black women there's literally not one black person working there. The hiring sign has been up for months looking for someone bilingual but I promise you if you hire someone that looks like a lot of your customers you'd have more return. Overall it's disappointing and I'm still searching for a better store less racist. read more

Wow this Asian lady at this place is super crazy! I don't recommend this place at all. She is very unprofessional. I bought some hair extensions and when I took them home I realized the extensions were not the ones that were advertised. They were not authentic bohyme. They smelled synthetic and a lot of hair was missing. There were bald spots! When I went back to return them I told her I wanted what I paid for. I told her if she could please do an even exchange but then she said because they were opened it's final sale. I simply asked her for a refund and she said no. I work very hard for my money and I don't even think it's legal to sell something not advertised. I told her if she didn't refund me that I would file a claim with my bank. So I left her fake box there and walked out. She yelled at me "hey don't come back here anymore". I got in my car turned the car on proceeded to backup and this Asian lady came charging at me aggressively and yelled "hey! take your fucking hair here" and managed to open my car door and tried to throw them in. I simply just sped off and my car door closed. Crazy !!!!!!! I'm driving a 2023. Of course I'm filing a claim. I will never be there ever again. I'm a frequent customer and The owner and the other Asian lady that is in the front is very rude she won't say Hi she rolled her eyes at me when I had a few questions and was answering very rude like I had no clue what I was asking when I told her I needed some clip extensions that where around 175 So she just made a face and said ohh we don't hace does very sarcastic when know what I'm talking about because I always buy the extensions there. over all a waste of time. Rude Asian ladies. Frustrated with their life's and unhappy about hair extensions so I just asked for the Girl that speaks Spanish I forgot her name she is very nice and patient. I was going to leave today and not purchase anything this people need a reality check and be a little bit more understanding that customers are a priority specially when we go and spend hundreds of dollars but this would be the last time that I go to that location. Yesterday I went in for hair gel, but decided to look for a few more hair products, so it took me a little longer than I usually take. The whole entire time, an employee (the older lady that's usually there) was walking around watching me, and very obvious! She didn't even try to hide it! At first, I thought maybe I was mistaken. After making eye contact with this woman LITERALLY over 10 times, and she didn't ask me if I needed help ONCE, and watching her "pace" back and forth to look at me, that confirmed it. Everytime I went to another aisle, she made sure she had eyes on me! The only reason I did not put my things back is because I really needed the gel, but now I wish I had walked out!! When I got to the counter, I greeted her, and I started to ask her if she was watching me because I took so long shopping. She cut me off mid sentence, chuckled and mumbled something about "the customer..." I really don't even know what she said, but I could feel she knew she was wrong!! I left it alone, because I'm not a confrontational person, but this was totally unacceptable! I'm getting angry all over again as I type this review, and I wish I had said more to her, because that was not ok!! I understand that they have been robbed many times, but why would you follow ME around the store and not expect me to be a paying customer!! Their receipts are horrible! As with most beauty supply stores. I bought a product and attempted to bring it back just outside of their 14 day exchange policy. Remember there are no refunds at these places. So I went in to see how they could help me get a better descriptive receipt as proof of purchase to go through the manufacturer. They were not helpful in that either. We need more beauty supply stores with true customer service not greed and broken english. I had a very unpleasant experience. I had purchased hair extensions for my daughter on a Saturday night. That day the customer service was great. I asked questions about the product such as if you could curl and straighten the hair extensions without severe damage. The employee who helped me assured me that the product I bought which was around 88 dollars could be straightened and curled and it wouldn't damage the hair. On the next day, Sunday, when my daughter tried to straighten the hair extensions the hair started to melt, so we put on a lower heat it didn't straighten whatsoever so we began to brush the hair extensions only for the hair to begin falling out. I decided to change the product for something better so I called to explain to this girl Melissa what happened and the first thing she said was the manager is not here and I can call back on Monday and that we couldn't exchange anything without the managers help. We were both confused because on the receipt it said we could exchange the product at any time. We went to the store to try to speak with the manager and this girl Melissa start being very disrespectful with us. She was fighting with me saying I was not telling the truth even when I brought the proof of the hair extensions. English isn't my first language but I had no trouble understanding what she was saying to me even though she kept insulting me trying to said that I was lying . My daughter decided to get involved since English is her first language and she could keep with that excuse and repeated everything I had said to her. I wasn't trying to get my money back all I wanted was to exchange the hair extensions for a better quality. I was even willing to pay the difference if the pricing was higher. We will never go back. I always buy my beauty supply in Sallys but we wanted to try something different because they have a lot of supply in hair extensions but unfortunately customer service was very bad and the manager was nowhere to be seen or to be contacted. read more
