I came in looking for a Peach Slices product. When I arrived, the specific holiday set was already sold out. The Ulta cashier was very nice to have reached out to another Ulta location. Unfortunately, that OTHER ULTA location was too far away. The same associate also checked if the product was available online and she even discussed that the distribution center was completely SOLD OUT of the holiday "Super Fade Discoloration Duo." Oh well! The location is very clean, well arranged, and inviting. The staff is super customer service friendly and they know their beauty products well. Very disappointing experience at this Ulta. I asked an employee for help finding an item and was told she didn't know where it was or if the store even carried it. I ended up finding it myself near the checkout. At checkout, I asked about the free promotional tote and was told I needed to buy another item to qualify, even though I had already selected the exact qualifying items plus a coupon and the promotion worked online. The explanation made no sense and the employee who told me this had a very rude attitude. The only positive was my actual cashier, who was friendly and tried to help. For being such a big store it was very underwhelming. It's like a step down from Sephora with ok products and some low quality products with a high ticket price. There seems to be a lot of petty theft too, some stuff I looked at the packaging was empty or I would find empty boxes shoved in areas they didn't belong in, trash from coffee cups and other questionable discarded items. The fact that I found all this in just one visit made me wonder if the employees are even paying attention to customers but also the state of their store. I've worked retail in my college years and this was one of those things we looked out for. I hope they fix it, I'm giving it 3 stars for location and variety of products although it's not really what I go for, a lot of those items can be found at regular retail stores for a fraction of the price. Just an FYI: If you're using Happy Returns at Ulta, you do NOT need to wait in the regular purchase line. I went in today and stood at the front counter to make my Happy Return. The associate asked for my last name--I'm assuming she thought I was picking up an order--so I clarified that I was doing a return. Instead of asking what type of return or explaining the process, she told me to go wait in the main line. I waited in the long line, got back up to the counter, and the next associate immediately told me that I actually did not need to wait in line at all for a Happy Return. The previous employee then said, "Oh, that's my fault," but honestly, if she had asked one clarifying question or explained the process, I wouldn't have wasted my time waiting unnecessarily. Everyone is busy, I completely understand that -- but a little clarification and customer service would have helped a lot. So just a heads-up for anyone else: If you're doing a Happy Return, you can go straight to the counter. No need to stand in the long lines. read more

I needed a hair cut real bad and fix my color as well. My usual stylists were all booked and because of my work schedule, I couldn't schedule one until the end of the month. I remembered that Ulta had salon services and decided to give them a try. + First off, they have a bunch of stylists to choose from and there were a lot of booking times available. Because of this, I was able to book my cut and color on separate days. Sounds inconvenient to do so, but working as a teacher, scheduling a cut and color on the same day is sometimes near impossible to do on a weekday. + You can book different services with different stylists if you wished. I booked both my cut and full highlight services with Karla E. She did a phenomenal job! She's very personable and produced results that were better than I expected. I'm glad I took a chance because now I have another stylist to add to my list :) - I wish that Ulta made the stylists' portfolio/ social media available for guests, especially first-timers like myself, to see. It can be daunting to try a new stylist, especially if you've either had salon trauma, or are still trying to find your go-to stylist. Overall, I had a great first time experience at their salon. I came into Ulta to shop with my niece, and as soon as we walked in it was extremely hot and difficult to breathe because of it. The checkout line was very long, and while waiting it became even more uncomfortable due to the heat. When we were finally checked out, the girls at the register were incredibly sweet and helpful, but even they were fanning themselves and sounded out of breath while working. I asked to speak with a manager because no one should be working in those conditions. The manager, I believe her name was Stella, was very kind, apologetic, and assured me they were doing their best to fix the issue. The staff handled the situation with grace, but these sweet ladies should not have to work in such uncomfortable conditions. They seemed to have plenty of products. Well stocked with a big selection. The layout differed from other locations I've been, with the cash registers in the front. There was a good length line and full parking lot outside. But things moved quickly and the cashier was friendly. I really have to say I am surprised at the reviews for this location. I always have a great experience. Whether it be with the staff at the front or at the Hair bar, whether I walk the floor someone always offers help, I get recommendations when needed. But my favorite part of coming to this location is when I get my hair done with Brianna. She honestly is really great! She definitely knows what she's doing. My hair has never looked better. I was looking to purchase a perfume right after Xmas. I found one and an associate that was in the area. I asked her hey can you help me get a perfume from behind the glass. She said yes and I point to the test bottle of Valentino. The boxes were kind of the same color so not sure what perfume is which right ? So I say u want this tester one she replied in a rude tone. Against my better judgment and not being able to see sample photos of the stylist's work, I booked with the "elite" level stylist there, Karla Minshew, because I desperately needed my hair done for a photo shoot. She has a super abrasive personality, left my back exposed with the cape so I got dye all over my clothes, overcharged me for an "add on" blowout (which when I later looked at the app, my curly cut was supposed to include the styling/drying of the hair, which of course she left my hair about 70% wet). But worst of all, she left by haircut crooked. I told her several times where I part my hair but she just blew me off and kept cutting it with it parted down the middle so after it was styled and my hair was parted to the side of course it was crooked. I told her and she said "oh it's because you parted and flipped your hair to one side so of course it looks shorter". Um, no ma'am every haircut I've ever gotten should at least be able to be parted to the middle or side without being lopsided. So then she proceeded to just start free cutting all awkwardly with her left hand on the longer side like it was piece of construction paper or something, mind you these are my face framing layers. So yeah alas I've worn my hair curly and smoothed out/curled for my photoshoot and it is still very noticeable longer on one side to the naked eye and when I pull pieces of both sides and compare the lengths when it's wet, one side is way longer than the other. So now I'll have to get it fixed. And yes, they are charging upscale salon prices (my total was $300+ for a full root touchup and haircut) but it's a super tacky environment with blaring Ulta music in your ear and all shoppers and employees passing by you on their way to the bathroom, plus of course she worked on 2 other clients while working on me so I was there for over 4 hours. Ugh. NEVER AGAIN. read more

Went in to return one ítem and ended up buying 10 more. I was greeted as soon as I came into the store. An associate offered help, and everything looked well stocked and organized. The girls at the register were polite as always. Now, to my one complain, there was a mature store employee talking to a friend who obviously was pretending to be shopping. She told the friend about how she got burned while straightening her very red hair. This made her late, but it was okay because she never got in trouble. What was annoying is that she saw many paying customers walk by looking for help, and she just kept socializing. They even began looking for plane tickets to Mexico City, all while she's getting paid to work!! I was standing on an end cap right next to them for at least 15 minutes, then I went to look for other things, came back for another item, and they were still socializing. I was in the store around 45 minutes, and this employee never helped one single customer. An employee with that lack of respect for the customer and her job is not what Ulta should have in their store. Because of people like that, the whole store gets a reputation for bad customer service. read more

I don't appreciate any of the service in this area. There was a security guard nonstop following me around the store while I was looking for hair products. This is the issue I have every single time I come to this store. I had to walk out of the store and have my husband go to the register for me because he kept following us around the store. As I walked out of the store, he tried peeking into my bag with tacos in it and I turned around and said "uhm do you want to check my bag? I don't steal" every time I come into this store, it is the same security guard following me around, it makes me want to walk out of your guy's store with nothing in my hand. I went in to this Ulta Salon with a formal hair styling and make up appointment with Karla Minshew. Karla did such an amazing job- I felt like a 1950s era movie siren. I showed her my inspo pic and she did exactly what I asked! I absolutely recommend her for hair styling and make up services. The reason for the dock in a star is NO fault of Karla's- this location seems to overbook their stylists, so that resulted in delays with my appointment. I also didn't like that I had to wait in the check out line for about 15 minutes after my appointment- it would be great if they could make a separate check out stand for services versus product purchases. If you do book services here, I recommend that you anticipate being there for at least a half hour more than what they estimate during booking. I personally get hesitant going to someone not knowing what their work is like but my hair was already messed up to begin with and it needed all the help it can get. I almost didnt book because the first girl who was initially helping me wasnt sure when the next availability was and told me I can book online but Karla approached me and asked me what I was looking to do and gave me suggestions on treatments and what services she would recommend with the photo I told her I would like to achieve so she asked me when I'd be available and we set up an appointment for the following week.
