Amazing experience. There was some weird outcome after I dyed my hair this time, I drove back to Sally's to ask for advice so I could reach my goal without frying my hair off. They were super helpful and gave me the best recommendations. The products work exactly like they said they would and my hair turned out great. I will say to do some research before attempting to do your hair so if any questions come up, you're knowledgeable enough to help them help you. This is one of the few beauty stores still open in the Tri-Valley as so many other ones closed during and after the pandemic shutdowns. It's in a convenient location near the Walmart in PLS. Parking is easy, plenty of space. The store itself is not huge but has a big selection of everything you might be looking for. I love how they maximize the shelf size by having just a few of each product. There was also a really nice sales assistant/ cashier there when I visited. The cashier asks you to join the club and save money, great! They don't tell you there is a 5 dollar fee til you see it on your receipt. That's not good customer service. I'm not sure how much I would trust the recommendations given by staff, I got a lot of, "Oh, yeah, people like that," but not any specific information about the differences between products. I think googling the products before buying, or looking on makupalley.com, will give you more info. The smell is overwhelming. They need to up the ventilation or leave the door open, it's so chemical and awful. Good selection of products that work well for a fraction of the price of name brand hair care. If you have questions employees are helpful with answering them. Many items are sold as sample as $1-$3 sample packets so you can try before you invest in a whole bottle. Over the years I have bought many hair claws, toner, regular conditioners, leave ins and deep conditioners. The two employees who helped me were incredibly welcoming and helpful. I went in to find toner and a developer for the brass in my hair. When I first arrived, there was only one employee and she immediately greeted me and asked how she could help. I talked to her about the look I was hoping for and even showed her pictures to better present what my goal was. She was patient and let me ask all my questions and even repeated the instructions as I'm sure she could sense I was slightly nervous of the turn out. After I browsed around and purchased the items, I ran back into the store to double check I picked the right amount of developer. She reassured me I had all the products I needed; I was probably such a high maintenance customer haha. Anyway, I got back in my car and saw in the corner of my eye another employee who helped me check out come outside into the parking lot to triple check I had the right products. I have no idea why there are reviews listing bad customer service, they have definitely gotten new employees. Amazing customer service. I was purchasing hair items for my daughter's dance competition and she has thick hair and she needs a slicked bun. The ladies there helped me find a great small hairspray to try out, bun pins, bobby pins, bun wrap, fake eyelashes and even a blowout brush for me. The ladies explained so much and knew exactly what to recommend for dance. Prices are pretty OK, we got packs of pins for under 5 dollars, a round brush for 12, and lashes and glue together for 15. We went to this store at 11:30am today. There were signs announcing "open to the public" and about masks, etc. There was another sign with a phone number, if you want the option for curb-side delivery, or need to speak with someone inside of the store without going in. (See signs in pics attached) The doors were LOCKED, during posted open hours! AND- no one answered the phone! We have called a half-dozen times and nothing! So, we called the next Sally store (5 mins farther than this one) & they picked up right away, confirmed the stores ARE in fact open, and that we can come there. Ugh! So unprofessional and what an inconvenience! We drove almost 20 minutes, in traffic, during the work day, to that store and that's how they do business! How hard is it to hang a sign that says, "I'm sorry; we're closed today after all"... seriously... over it. Moving forward, we'll go the extra 5 minutes to the store who follows through and shows up. That is all. Rant over. Update: I wanted to give it another try. I had high hopes...Same issue persists...Every time. No one is there. No one answers the phone. EVERY other Sally Beauty in the area is open, answers phone and is very professional. This one.... rolls eyes... should just close the doors. Not much to say except they carry a lot of their own branded shampoo and conditioner that is so much cheaper than the brand name. I have somewhat of a dry scalp, so tea tree oil shampoo has worked for me. They carry the Paul Mitchell knock off tea tree shampoo that keeps my black mane and scalp looking and feeling oh so healthy! (Ok I don't have a mane, but it sounded nice to write it above :) Service is there if you ask. No one to date has pursued me in the store. She made no notice whatsoever to either stop her inappropriate conversation nor MOVE so a customer could walk through. Of course by myself, and with no customer service I was able to locate the product I needed. While I was looking at the product my small daughter was looking at the clearance nail polish behind me. The earlier said mentioned rude front counter lady ala sixty years old with extensions then takes the time to chastize my daughter for playing with danger chemicals (said nailpolishs...) then continue her saunter to the back room for probably a break from her hard work. I went in to get hair extensions, color selection is limited, however luckily I was able to find the exact hair color matching my hombre hair color. I am absolutely in love with the hair extensions, and I am so happy they offer this product. Sally doesn't have top of the line brands, but it's always awesome that they offer DIY products when you need to make use of your budget or want to create a certain style on your own. read more

Love Sally's Beauty Supply, only complaint is for hair extensions. They don't have samples to match your hair and all sales are final. How are you suppose to buy the extensions if you can't match it to your hair? Their halo extensions look nice but there is no hair sample to match hair and no way to try and see if the halo extension feel okay on my head. Shake my head. Came in for a quick in and out visit to get hair color. I renewed my membership and got a "free gift". Upon further inspection of this "free" gift for renewing I noticed half the product was gone. Nice. I assume this product was used and given as a "free" gift to get rid of it. That's BS. Next time I will inspect everything before I buy. Not sanitary. For all I know someone could have filled that bottle with something toxic or God forbid some hair remover or something. Not ok. This review is mainly for the great customer service I received from one of the associates - Roberta. I came in looking to buy some products to color my hair at home. I was being really indecisive and had so many questions - after all it is my hair! She was so patient with me, gave me her undivided attention, and gave such great advice and recommendations for how to color my hair. I even called right before they closed (while coloring my hair) to ask a question, and she was happy to give me more advice. Super sweet and definitely would come back to this Sally's next time! She showed us exactly where everything was and made sure we had everything we needed for bleaching and toning including reminding me to get gloves. I went to walk away and the girl came to the door and barked "what do you need bc we are closing soon", I told her and she said fine make it quick. Rude rude rude! Love the store most of the time but tonight was crazy. My sister and I visited the store 5 minutes to closing and the 2 employees approached us with the lights turned off and said we had 2 minutes to purchase or we couldn't get rung up because computers shut down and they wanted to grt their weekends started. Luckily we knew what we needed. They approacjed us again about 30 seconds later and stood next to us repeating that they close in 1 minute. We had what we needed in hand and headed up to the register. My sister is a hairdresser and has a professionals card that offers a 40% discount on the entire transaction. They stated that they couldn't give my sister the professionals discount because they had rung up the product already and there was no way to adjust thE transaction. So I'm giving this place a 1 star rating because of the one employee I had an encounter with yesterday. I went in and she asked me if I needed help and I was tired and wasn't trying to look around and I said yes please, I am looking for a semi color remover bleach type thing And she looked at me dumb founded and repeated what I said and I said yes, so she led the way, and she wasn't even to sure what she was looking at and found a box and said umm id go with this one, it says it removes color. Like seriously? You don't even have product knowledge. Also never asked me about price point, and this product was not cheap. So I just told her thank you and she carried on with work. I decided to not go with her "recommendation" and decided to just bleach it out (which I know isn't good) but I am using a 20 vol so it's fine. And as I bring up my items to the counter I said I decided to go with a bleach instead and I was being friendly, and she did nothing but SNICKER and rang me up. Employees always greet you, ask if you need help, and make small talk while ringing you up.
