I had to stop into Sephora today to restock my Tower 28 items. The store was PACKED and there were even aisles that I couldn't walk down. I grabbed what I needed plus a few more items because well...when in Rome. Only one employee asked if I needed assistance, but I don't actually think she was a Sephora employee - maybe an independent contractor for a beauty brand...? The check out line was also crazy long, but moved fairly quickly and the girl who worked at the counter was friendly. Being as I turn 40 this month, I'm trying to up my skincare game more than it already is so I'll definitely be back for more items soon! read more

I just wanted to say that Gabi (long black hair), who worked tonight was absolutely exceptional! She was wonderful. She was so professional, so knowledgeable, and it truly shows that she cares about every client who walks through the door. She enthusiastically greeted me and asked how she could help me, and I explained what I was looking for. This girls KNOWS her stuff. She gave me a couple samples to try, and I WILL be back to this location to purchase one of the samples that worked better for me because and only because of Gabi, even though I don't live in this area. She was so sweet, very articulate, and she makes me want to buy what she suggests because she's a great saleswoman yes, but it's obvious she cares, and that makes me trust her. I was very impressed by Logan's customer service. A few days ago, I went there with my step daughter to help her look for some make up for her since she doesn't wear much. I didn't know where to start. Logan helped her with foundation matching, blush, and lipstick/lipliner selections. Logan was very professional and knows the products well. I love Sephora, but unfortunately I don't love this Sephora. I would say it's average in terms of all the locations I've been to. It's in the Roseville mall, downstairs by Pottery Barn and the Apple Store. It's a huge store. I checked online before going and the Sephora website said they had both items I wanted there in stock at the store. They didn't have either one of them when I got there and the employee said that happens often. The store is very busy and I don't think there are enough employees to help everyone and also keep the store neat and clean. There was stuff everywhere. There is also so much product that it's kind of hard to walk around the store without bumping into another customer or a rack or something. They have all the brands, and a separate fragrance area. The line to check out was pretty long and there was only one employee at the registers. read more

I patiently waited in line for 5 minutes as I watched 3 young women talk behind the check out counter while one sole cashier was helping a customer with a complicated return. I am giving this location a 3 stars is because each time I go in, the experience is not consistent and today is one of the odd one. I asked one of the associates if I can get some help on some skin care products, she gave me a look like I'm bothering her. She then found another associate to help me which I know they do that. I begin to explain I needed some recommendations with eye cream that is good for fine lines but the advisor kept introducing the product are focusing on dark circles which I don't have and mentioned to her twice that is not my concerns . Then she will pick up the product read line by line about the benefits. Lol so I thank her and left. I don't need to go to the store and have someone read the product for me, I can totally do that online. Perhaps the company can provide more products training classes for them. read more

Although this used to be my go to Sephora, I can't say that it is any longer. There's something about the quality, or lack thereof of their products when getting them at the mall. I've noticed that the Sephora in the fountains (across the street) has cleaner space and better quality samples, etc. I'm sure that part of this has to do with the high foot traffic that comes in and out of the mall, and the square footage is simply not enough for this locations foot traffic. More often than not when I come in here I'm having a difficulty finding products that I need and they are almost always sold out of the size or general product. Often times it's hard to get somebody to help out as well. I'm not sure if they don't have the staff or if the staff is just that aloof, but more often than not I'm searching and when asked at the counter if anybody helped, the answer is usually no. Generally speaking, I gave this location 4 stars because although hard to find when you need help the staff has always been kind and respectful. When I was able to find help, and they had the ability to help they have. It's truly just the cleanliness of the store that made it 4 stars for me. There's something about getting my products in a dirty place that makes me think that maybe the products themselves are also filthy. read more

Brutal customer service. None of the staff offer any assistance. I saw them be extremely rude to a couple of customers who had a dog stroller. The manager stomped over to them and told them they had to leave. They told her they needed help to find something. Do the employees here get a bonus to make customers uncomfortable and lie to them? Every experience I've had here, there are some nice employees, but then some WEIRD ones. Previously I called to make sure an exchange was permissible, drove 40 minutes to get here, and was then told I wasn't able to even though it was a complexion product and I just wanted to exchange shades (the online chat let me exchange it thanks to the incompetency of whatever manager was working). I no longer bother shopping in person because this location is the closest to me after I moved and is off putting. I came to return some things I ordered online as I had some other stores in the mall I needed to go to and the employee was telling me the price being refunded was too high, and basically ignored me when I let her know it was higher because it was the value size not the regular full size. Then recommended me replacement products. Needlessly to say I went across the street and had much less of a headache at the fountains. I only give reviews if they are truly noteworthy and with that being said I hate giving negative reviews, however, sometimes it is unfortunately necessary. Fortunately I rarely do and am happy to instead give accolades to celebrate positive interactions, amazing service, and wonderful souls. Earlier this month, while taking my boyfriend's daughter for her first makeup lesson, I scheduled a quick visit to learn some basics from one of the artists at this location. Pretty soon into it I was getting the feeling that the artist, although well intentioned, was not very experienced with Asian eyes. This was a main point of the visit. I didn't want my boyfriends daughter to have a negative experience so I sought out the manager Stacy and she not only came to the rescue, but she handled the entire situation with grace, professionalism, kindness, empathy, and enthusiasm. I am so grateful for Stacy's support and understanding of the situation and how delicate it needed to be handled so as to not make anything a big deal, a negative experience, or hurt anyone's feelings. What brought me in was that a friend had suggested I get a sample of the foundation she had recommended me. Wait, say what? Can you please repeat that? Did you say REQUEST A SAMPLE? Why does this sound so simple yet so brilliant? Makes me think shady thoughts about their competitors. It almost feels like they (the competition) are hoping I'd forget that such and such product was weak sauce and skip a trip to return it. Samples are a no-brainer! Try it and love it? I have been a Sephora customer for 11 years, and I have never had such an abhorrent experience. My experience at this store was so bad that I am committed to never visiting a Sephora store again. Ultra has a lot of products of the same quality for WAY better prices and with nice customer service. My mom and I came to this store looking to color match a foundation, and when we asked for help, the employee Andrea was extremely condescending and rude. She made my mom feel awful with her snide comments, and rather than helping us she tried to sell us lotion that was $130. She made rude comments about how light-skinned my mom was and made her feel horrible about her aging skin. She lathered a ton of lotion on my mom's face that she didn't ask for. I don't usually go online and write reviews, but seeing my mom cry after this whole experience truly broke my heart. My return was less then pleasant today, at the Sephora in Galleria Mall/ Roseville. I had 3 separate returns, I got a gift card for 2 of them and when I proceeded with my 3rd return, that came in broken I was told that I couldn't return it because it was over 60 days ( broken item that I got). When I called to speak with a manager she was very short, and said there's nothing that she can do, and if I would call customer service there's nothing that they can do for me either. Nevertheless, there's no return policy on their receipts, it says to go on their website. It's disappointing that a retailer like Sephora wouldn't make an exception for their broken item. read more

I've been going there for about 2 years and they always match my foundation color correctly (no matter the brand) and they are always friendly/professional. I have a specific shout out for their skin rep, her name starts with a B (I think it was like Bianca, sorry I don't remember). She was positive and logical when addressing my skin concerns. So I'm not great with makeup and usually have to get people to tell me what colors or type of products I need, for me to plaster my face to beautiful. I had to come into this store because my current foundation is like 3 shades too dark (I purchased that color like 2 summers ago when I was baking in the sun). Coming into this store can be daunting with all the different brands and types of foundations they carry here. Lindsey M. was awesome because she saw me looked stressed looking at Benefit's makeup stand and came to my rescue. She sat me down at the makeup bar and used this special device to get my color number. It's this small hand-held machine that she puts against your skin to get a number. Then she can find a foundation based off of the number (wow, technology...). She was able to find a matching foundation within minutes. She even took me outside of the store into natural light, so I can make sure it's to my liking and to my skin tone. Customer service didn't stop there either! She made sure I looked good for the rest of my shopping day by redoing my foundation to the new color. I was a big fan of this store to begin with but now even more from the customer service I received! read more
