Great grandma pizza as the oven is straight from Italy but they do not make all pizzas in it. The grandma is cooked to perfection in that oven. Love the italian meatballs and antipasto salad. Having once ordered often, I don't know what has happened. The past two times we've ordered from there, the food was inedible. The first was a caesar salad that was half lettuce, half crouton crumbs drowned in italian dressing, not caesar. The second time, I ordered a pizza due to the bad salad experience. Passed by Sally Boy while visiting Jersey on a prior visit and the food on display looked and smelled good. I found myself In Jersey again and decided to order food.....so glad I ordered. After many visits to Jersey and being thoroughly disappointed in my prior pizza purchases, Sally Boy will be my "go to pizza place" moving forward. There are no seats inside but the staff are pleasant and quick to process your order. Delivery is also fast. Finally a crust that isn't thin like the sheets of paper, oily or tasteless like the other pizzas I have tried out here :( Sally boy was fresh, spiced nicely and not greasy. I might have reviewed this place before and said I wouldn't return, but I did because my friend wanted pizza and they had the only outdoor dining on the sunny side of the street. And once again, was a big disappointment. She ordered "Brick Oven Pizza". She loves Brick oven Pizza, extra char. Server brings out pizza. "Is THIS brick oven pizza?" Nope. Regular Pizza oven pizza. Apparently they only do that on Fridays and Saturdays! Was there ANY indication, whether by written or verbal communication of that fact? Nope. The people there had plenty of of opportunity, the ordering kiosk had the ability to state so, but nah, who the F**k cares? Not the owners, not the managers, not the staff. Though I enjoyed my slice, the crunchy charred bottom, detracted from the overall flavor of cheese and tomato sauce. A Nice Salad (though fresh) at $13.00, comprised of the salad standards, plus green olives - not worth the hefty price tag. This review is just for the pizzas they put out in their display. My first thought when I looked at their speciality pizzas that they keep out in their display is that they were all way too thick! I tried to find a thinner pizza slice, but there weren't any. I ended up getting the white with spinach, eggplant, and a Sicilian slice. The white pizza slice with spinach tasted all dried out! It tasted like it was sitting there since early in the morning! I obviously didn't care for that one at all. The eggplant pizza was very good! It tasted fresh, and the sauce to that one was very tasty! The Sicilian slice was mediocre. The sauce wasn't as flavorful as the eggplant pizza, and the cheese was all dried out. The pizzas were way too dense to my liking. I'd come back and try ordering a whole pie next time, but I definitely won't be ordering any pizza by the slice here again. read more

If I could, I would give this a 3.5. I really liked the ambiance, the friendly staff, and the price point (a Sicilian pie was about $23, which is on the cheaper side nowadays). The two cons for me, not insignificant, were that the bottom was just too crisp for my liking (understand why they did it -- so that the pizza didn't fall apart when you picked it up -- but I would still take a light crisp/less integrity over super crispy/bordering burnt), and unfortunately, it didn't taste like the slices had any seasoning. I added a ton of oregano and garlic powder to each, which helped, but it would have been better if there was seasoning in the red sauce or in the ricotta of the white slice. Texturally, everything was great. I would give it another try if it was closer, but I wouldn't make a drive (over an hour) for this again. read more

Ok is exactly right for this. I was excited to try this place. I came in with my daughter on a Wednesday night. I will say the people there were very friendly. But overall I probably won't return. The price here is really just ridiculous. I got 2 slices and a small bar pie for my daughter, it was over $25. The slices were $8 each...are you kidding? Sure they are thicker crust, kind of like a sicilian pie. But, they were small and definitely not worth that price tag. The little bar pie was good for a 6 year old, that was thin crust. The flavor was ok, I got the buffalo and vodka chicken, they were good. Not $8 each good, half that good. I think the hoagies were $18. While they were nice, there's just no way I'd come back here with the rest of the fam when I could get a full meal for the same price. I wish them the best but I'll skip it. read more
