Maybe one day I'll be able to write a review of something else other than their burger but unless they take it off the menu, I don't see that happening anytime soon ha. I've been here 3 times since they opened, the first being in their very early days and I was incredibly impressed by how they opened a restaurant during Covid and did it so well/adapted. Now this burger... oh my. I am definitely a fan of the smash burger style over any other type but I am also kind of picky in how it's prepared. Sally O's gets it right on every count and this quickly became my favorite (or tied for favorite since I am a bit of a Shake Shack loyalist) burger in Baltimore. Get here soon! Came here for the first time a few nights ago before a show at the Creative Alliance. I was excited to check it out after hearing a lot of great things! The pros: --The decor and ambiance was lovely--the plants, the pops of color, and the neon lights really were modern and fun. --The carnitas tacos and truffle fries that we had as appetizers were delicious. The citrus-y marinade of the carnitas really came through, and the fries were perfectly crisp and flavorful. --The pepperoni bolognese that my partner ordered was an interesting concept that was executed well. It had a lot of zing too it without being overwhelming. --The service was very attentive, and staff had a great sense of humor. --The mulled wine cocktail I had was pleasingly strong and thoroughly warmed with spices. The cons: --I ordered the French onion tortellini for my entree, because I was intrigued by the concept. It sounded like a slam-dunk combination, as I love French onion soup and a solid tortellini dish. However, the French onion broth that the pasta was served in was disappointingly lacking in flavor. It was watery and bland. For pasta dishes, the sauce should really be the star, and unfortunately this missed the mark. The meat that came with broth was also a little too chewy for my taste, and was also bland. --I had heard hype about the birthday cake, and our server said it was their most popular dessert, so I was stoked. The frosting was delicious, but the cake itself was a bit on the dry side. Still much better than your average grocery store birthday cake, but I was expecting the texture to be a bit more moist. Altogether, Sally O's certainly has potential. I would be open to making a return trip and ordering a different entree. read more

Delicious cocktails. Our server had great suggestions for drinks and food. The truffle fries and brussel sprouts were a good start. I had crabanara and my husband had a ravioli french dip dish. Crazy yum!! And the brownie sundae is a must. read more

The fries were crispy and the tacos were pretty incredible, great flavor. I was really hyped for the macaroni and cheese and I don't how if it's because I got take out but it was just a lump of cheese with Italian panko on top. Not bad just didn't love the flavor all that much. read more

My husband and I got a last-minute outdoor reservation at Sally O's last night and I am so glad we were able to stop by. They have just re-opened under the new Covid restrictions and followed all protocols to a T. Their outdoor seating had ample space heaters and we felt quite comfortable despite the very cold outdoor temperatures. My husband got the burger and his face immediately lit up on the first bite - he takes burgers seriously and said it was one of the best ones he had eaten in awhile. I had the merluza, which was equally delicious. We also ordered a bottled old-fashioned, which I would highly recommend. Our server was very friendly and cool to talk to, and though it is not open yet their indoor space is beautifully decorated. This is a neighborhood gem and I would highly recommend stopping by to check them out. read more

Every time we've come here the food has been excellent. I do wish they would bring back the tofu appetizer; that was sooo good.

We loved our first time here! We had the burrata, crabonara, brown butter pasta, birthday cake, and dark chocolate pudding along with some great wine and cocktails. It's a wonder that I haven't written this awhile back ago, but I haven't been on yelp for awhile. Now, you know who the Chef is...now only if she could fit in Raphael or hire someone...I jest. Anywhoooo..the food from day one was wonderful!!! The 1st thing I tried were the wings - OMG!!! Then came the Burrata...then the crab carbonara...and of course I needed to get dessert. Did I stop there? yes because I was totally full and ended up taking some things home to the hubby (ordered more). Anyways...that was far from the last time as I was lucky enough to be living above it...so I created a dolly system from the kitchen to my window...kidding...they are always nice enough to run it up the stairs for us!!! Love all of them!!! So, what haven't I tried...oh one of the items that was on the menu for maybe a week or weekend and I missed out. So I keep looking to see if it is one of the changes and well...I'll keep looking...or I may buy some and see if she'd make it for me ;). Kidding...maybe not...but the staff are all wonderful! The food as wonderful as the staff. And when that bar opens up...I'll be sitting there until they say last call...and then until they kick me out!!! ;). Burgers...steaks...drinks...some wonderful wines (ask about the wines)...fun staff...when we get passed this pandemic...and everything is fully open...they are going to be PACKED!!!! (more packed then they were when they 1st opened.). I cannot wait til lunch menu and I totally missed out on the brunch for one of those holidays that passed....everything runs together during a pandemic. What day is it?!? Just got takeout from Sally O's. Delivery was fast and professional from one of their own guys. The smash burger, fried brussels, mac and cheese and cauliflower were all better than excellent. Honestly it's the best takeout I've had since moving to Baltimore. This might be my new go to place. Can't wait to go there in person once the stay at home order is lifted. I really wanted to love the menu as I've been looking at it since they've been getting ready to reopen. I ordered the crab carbonara and mac & cheese. Both of them had way too much pepper. I couldn't enjoy the carbonara or the crab because I kept trying to overcome the pepper. The same thing happened with the mac & cheese. We highly recommend! The smash burger was big and juicy, cooked to perfection. The fried chicken sandwich had a nice curry flavor. Street corn was delicious! Really liked the online order experience, it made it very easy to make adjustments to the order. Order was ready for pick up by the time we walked over. Just dined at Sally O's last night, and we'll definitely be back! Among my daughter, my wife and myself, we tried a pretty wide assortment of dishes -- duck w/mole, carnitas tacos, roasted brussel sprouts, wings, and beet salad -- and everything was delicious. Some were common dishes, but had interesting and innovative twists. I can especially recommend the tacos, which were as described on the menu kind of a cross between tacos and quesadillas, with delicious cheese melted on top. And the portion was huge for an inexpensive "small plate" dish -- 3 very large tacos, easily 2 meals for me. Duck was also very innovative. Wings were super tasty, although be forewarned, pretty spicy -- not for the faint of heart (or tongue)! Wine list was short, but well chosen and interesting. Service was excellent, and they have a very good setup for outside dining on a cool night during covid -- good heating system and dividers between all the tables along the sidewalk. And we'll always remember an incredibly generous gesture by the owner towards our daughter, for whom this was the last big night out before cancer surgery. Like I said, we'll be back! read more
