NO JOKE. Sally's Kitchen is literally the best Chinese food place in the Loveland/Fort Collins area. Everything I've ever ordered from here (at least a minimum of 20 times) has been made perfectly. Deep fried items are crunchy and don't feel mushy or full of bread filler. The sauces and flavors are always on point! I love their Sesame Chicken, Sweet and sour chicken, generals chicken and orange chicken. Sally always takes my order and she is super nice. Also the other lady who's taken my order was also very cheery and nice. I think they like working there. No one ever has the look of "when is my shift over." lol This place may be connected to a gross looking gas station but their food shines! Also if you look closely at the kitchen their cooking in you can tell they keep it clean and up to code. I love their Sesame Chicken! Its so tasty! read more

Sally's lives up to the hype every time. I always want to try different things, but I can't turn down the ginger avocado fried rice. The avocado is always fresh and ripe, and just slightly softened from the heat. The portions are HUGE but I have to stop myself from eating the whole thing in one sitting - it's that good. My bf always gets the bakmi goreng (Indonesian style noodles) and they are magically delicious as well. We have driven to FoCo from Denver just for Sally's. If we lived there, we'd be getting it delivered at least once a week! read more

Don't order delivery here...they don't understand English. Third time in a row they screwed up the order. When I called back to tell them they didn't deliver all the food I ordered the person (I think is the owner) said sorry then hung up on me. She did they same thing last time. read more

After reading all the reviews, we had to try it. The place was packed on a Saturday night with a line reaching the door. After waiting in line, I picked the ginger avocado rice, which is often mentioned in reviews. I was told it was sold out as they had no avocados. I choose something else and was told it would be 30-40 minutes because they were very busy. Since I had already paid, I decided to wait, but waiting at a gas station for that long is not a super exciting prospect. The Sesame chicken was okay, but the beef dish was spicy and a better option. We also ordered chicken lo mein. Everything seemed tasty, but I'd say the salt level was pretty high for our taste. The prices seemed very reasonable and if I would have called in the order, the wait wouldn't have been an issue. This was pretty good non greasy Chinese food. I ordered the Spicy Garlic Broboli and the Drunken noodles with veggies . ( I love Chow Fun so I was hoping their Drunken Noodles were similar.) and spouse ordered General Tso chicken. The Spicy Garlic Brocoli was NOT spicy or Garlic- y but it may be because I make very spicy and garlic infused things at home so I have a higher tolerance. The brocoli itself was cooked nicely not soggy but just right. The drunken noodles were ok, I am used to different gravy but again that is just me. Spring rolls were good. Spouse said their General Tso chicken was ok. All in all I would eat here again :) read more

Maybe I went in with too high expectations but I found this place to mediocre and very slow. Walked in and there was no line, went straight to the counter and ordered no problem. But the person who took the order failed to tell me that the wait for the food would be over an hour. I understand it happens but a little heads up would have been nice. The seating area was filthy and the garbage cans were over flowing with trash. Not a pleasant place to hang out for an hour. Once the food arrived it was just meh. Totally not worth an hour wait. I hope it was an isolated experience but I'll never know because I'll never go back. read more

Sally's Kitchen is the freshest and most flavorful Chinese food in Northern Colorado. Delicious! Sally and her crew do a great job and are very friendly. Seeing Sally's listed as the best Chinese food in Fort Collins across multiple sites, we gave it a try. It's very good - not the best I've had but definitely the best we've found in the area. It's a small operation, located within a gas station. There's not a lot of room and generally the line is to the door with delivery wait times even longer. It's a popular place, to say the least. The food is made exactly as ordered every time. It's authentic, maybe too authentic and that's why I wasn't blown away. For instance, the sweet and source chicken isn't tossed in the sauce, it's served on the side and there didn't seem to be enough sauce served with a couple of the dishes. Other dishes couldn't be made any better - the lo mein, crab cheese wontons, fried rice varieties. Next time you're searching for Asian cuisine, look for the Shell station with a line out the door of people with the same craving. read more

My friend had takeouts from this place before and was highly recommending it. So finally, in a winter windy cold night, I decided to give this place a shot. The place is inside a gas station, with a new tables to "dine in". When I got there, there was a line already, with 4-5 people in front of me. So I waited in line, as more people were coming in. One guy looked at me and said, " I know it is out of a gas station, but it is really good", as if he could tell my hesitation already. I ordered a takeout with two dishes: Beef a la Szechuan and Chicken w/Hot pepper & crispy Spinach. When I got home, I was anxious to try them. Beef a la Szechuan, in my memory, was supposed to be seasoned beef cooked with various spice, with heavy portion of red hot chilly peppers. When I saw my dish, it was beef strips covered with black sauce. I was a little bit confused by that. Then I tasted the sauce. It was a very thick salty gravy. Yuck. So I tried the beef strips. The beef was coated with light flour and some sugary stuff outside. When I dipped the beef into the sauce, i was really confused, and all I could taste was the sugary coating in that extra salty greasy gravy!!! I only tried two pieces. Maybe the chicken dish would give me a lighter experience, I thought. I was totally wrong. The spinach came in a separate box. It was very crispy and nicely done. Supposedly, the spinach would go onto of the chicken and provide that crunchy sensation. Well, the chicken was a submerged in another brown sauce. The sauce was salty and sweet at the same time. So I picked out a few chicken pieces and taste them. It was so salty that I had to dip the chicken in a small bowl full of water to rinse off the sauce. I tasted a few pieces of chicken and then gave up because the sauce, from both dishes, were so overpowering, I could not even taste the meat aNymOre. My first trip to Sally's.......... my workmates are frequent flyers and always have a good experience. I had General Taos Chicken....... steamed rice and an egg roll comes with it. You'd never guess it since they're attached to a gas station but this restaurant is legit. If you manage to get there before 5:30 most days, the service is pretty fast. Two bites in and I am already yelping. I am staying at a local hotel for work and was upset to see there are very limited take out options. Even more delivery options. I know, I could go out and socialize with my colleagues, but this is a mini vacation. I found this place thanks to yelp! First, calling was so easy. You can pay with a card and also tip on a card when the order arrives. Even though the delivery was about 30 minutes( hey I'm impressed, I'm from he city) the delivery person was apologetic. She brought it to my room and apologized. I told her that I thought it was pretty fast! Now the food. The portions are huge. Like I could have had this for dinner all week, this same order. One dinner feeds at least two people. I ordered the chicken cashew platter which was absolutely the best! Hot, flavorful, and all around perfect. The edamame was cooked perfectly with a touch of saltiness. The spring rolls were crisp and not greasy. The dipping sauce was very different. Did I mention with delivery this was only $15.00! With a tip, $20.00! My only complaint is I wish it came with a freezer bag and maybe a free class at the gym. With these left overs, I'm wondering how I can get them back to the city with me! At this point I think we all realize the aesthetic of it is an acquired taste. But like they all say, don't judge a book by its cover right? So. The food. IS. SO. GOOD. Stopped by for take-out for the 8th or 9th time. Every time I have come away more and more fascinated by how delicious this place is. Everyone that I talk to about Sally's is so skeptical until they try. Is it in a gas station? Yes Is it delicious? YES Double Pan Fried Noodles - delish! Paid $26 for a dish that was extremely similar at The Bellagio. Avocado Ginger Fried Rice (w Shrimp) - SO SO good. Smells like its going to be SUPER gingery, but the taste of ginger is very subtle. Sesame Chicken - perfect - sweeter than most sesame chicken dishes, but very very good. The large Egg Drop Soup feeds 3 as an appetizer. Every dinner item feeds 2 easily. Sunday night Chinese food is a long-standing tradition in my family; tonight was the third or fourth time we've ordered from here. We ordered Crab Cheese Wontons, Egg Drop Soup, Sesame Chicken, Chicken Pad Thai (hold the veggies), and white rice. PRO: Food arrived hot, friendly service, Crab Cheese Wontons were crispy and tasty (not at all greasy, like you so often find), Egg Drop soup was hot and good (not great, but not bad), Sesame Chicken was spot-on, white rice was white rice (really hard to mess that up). CON: Food took 1.5 hours to arrive (quoted 60 min), Pad Thai was awkward. I've posted pictures. The noodles were thin and almost spaghetti-shaped, the chicken was interestingly cut (moist and not overly-fatty, but odd... It was almost like Spätzle, if that makes any sense), and the sauce was so far off that we question whether or not it was Pad Thai sauce. It was more like a brown sauce, or gravy. Not at all sweet. EGREGIOUS CON: Everything comes in styrofoam. Styrofoam!! I really hate to jump up onto my granola-munching, tree-hugging soapbox, but this is 2015, and we live in a relatively environmentally-savvy state. Get with the program, people! PERPLEXING: Our drinks (Diet Coke and Orange Fanta) came with lids that said Panda Express. WTF is that? Did you run out of lids and decide to jack the nearest Panda Express? The cups, themselves, were styrofoam, but the almost-ill-fitting lids were clearly Panda Express-- check out the picture. Do you like to wait over an hour for marginal take-out Chinese food? Then, Sally's Kitchen is the place for you! Since we moved to the area, last year, we have been trying to give Sally's the benefit of the doubt, but NO MORE!!! We don't care that it is in a gas station; Sally's Kitchen is the closest restaurant of any type to our house--and we love Asian food--so we have continued to try to give them a chance. Last night, my daughter was in the mood for Chinese food, so we stopped in after a movie. There was no one at the tables and just one other person there, but both of us were told before even trying to order "it is going to be at least 45 minutes." The visit before that I came in while my family waited in the car. I ordered and waited 45 minutes. Tonight was the last straw. My husband called in an order of Orange Chicken and a Crab Rangoon appetizer at 5:12 p.m. Simple stuff, right? He was told that it would be 15 - 20 minutes. He left our house, arrived and paid for our modest order. At 6:14, he was asked to pay again. He told them he had already paid and included a $3 tip up front. Rather than trust the man who had sat right in front of them for 50 minutes, they proceeded to check the register for the receipt, pull the register tape to look for it, and asked him 3 times who he paid. He was embarrassed to have to stand there, in front of other customers, while they openly questioned his integrity. Also, he was irritated at the 1 hour prep time for a single entree, and the rudeness of the young man helping behind the counter. If people wonder about the food, the crab rangoons were cold. They were probably ready at 5:25 when we were told the order would be ready. We have had some of their noodle dishes. The Pad Thai is incredibly bland and lacking the flavor and extras that are usually part of this dish. The seasonings on their entire menu seem a bit "off". If you are in the area, Canton Palace and Wonderful Dragon are much better choices. The service may even be FRIENDLY--imagine that! read more

I have a love hate with Sally's. I love the food, but I have to be in the mood for a punishment while interacting with the staff. The food is simply amazing. How can something so good come out of a gas station? I had tried Sally's prior to my wife and knew how amazing her green beans, eggplant, drunken noodles, and beef with Broccoli are... My wife was super sceptical of gas station food, but using my boyish charm she gave in and tried it. She was hooked too. I'd have spent every last cent to my name at Sally's, except for the punishment.... First trying to place an order is hard, I mean really hard. If you call, you have to hit redial about 20 times before you get through only to interact with someone who's phone manners are less than customer friendly. If you go in, the line to order is about 10 minutes, only to be dressed down by Sally who has zero concept of customer service ( try a smile). Then wait 30 minutes for your food in a gas station. My intent is not to scare you away, but rather help you mentally prepare for your Sally's experience. read more
