I have never written a yelp review before, but i felt that my experience at Sally's tonight needed to be recognized. The atmosphere was great but it pales in comparison to the top notch service we received. My daughter and I were greeted by a darling girl, whose name we later learned was Christy. She was attentive, knowledgable and exceeded all of our expectations. Not only was she the best server I've had in Minneapolis but she went above and beyond with her sweet demeanor and warm personality She gave my freshman daughter advice about college, what to expect, and made my daughter feel comfortable and excited about the year ahead. She was clearly busy and did not need to take the time and effort to do such but it really made an impact. Due to our outstanding service from Christy, Sally's will be our go-to spot whenever I'm in town to visit my daughter. read more

Sally's is always a great choice. They have very affordable happy hour deals which is essential for college students. It is also very clean and open with lots of natural light. Ask for Taylor K as your server, she is so sweet and always goes the extra mile for her tables! read more

this was one of the best nights out on a Saturday night at Sally's! Shoutout to DAVE who does security there! He is amazing!!

Definitely the college bar in town. Came here for lunch and enjoyed some cheese curds, wings (they do 2lbs for $5 and their tasty) and several beers. Beer selection is not great and then don't have a beer menu but in the end it was cheap. read more

Great place for large groups in the summer. They open up the doors and windows and there's a great breeze in the restaurant. A few reviews are correct that it can take a little time to get your drinks, but we weren't in a hurry, so no worries. read more

I'm not sure why people expect 5 star service at a college bar, but this place has cold beer, and is a great stop before and after a Gopher home game. The drinks are cheap during happy hour, and my server Trey was personable and always available. Looking for 5 stars? Dinkytown is college, so if youare older than 30, try to remember when you didnt give a shit about service. I'm sure most 21 year olds give this place 4 or 5 stars. It's OK in my book. read more

This past week end I went in to Sally's Saloon for some football and food with my family. Was welcomed by a very nice young lady named Mara! They had plenty of TV's, food came out fast and HOT! No complaints!! read more

Allie G was so helpful and made me want everything on the menu! She was such a great waiter and truthfully made my experience something I wasn't expecting. I came here thinking it was just your average college bar but Allie G made my night fantastic! read more

We went in for their Wednesday wing bucket and drinks. We ended up ordering a drink and some tater tots additionally. Little did we know that we would order and it would take over an hour to get our food. Okay, fine. We can drink some and have a good time while we wait. Wrong. Our waitress never came back to our table. We got our one drink and no food in the first hour. We finally get our food and we end up having to go to the bar to get napkins for the wings because our waitress never comes back or asks how we are doing. The waitress finally decides to walk by (which she still ignored us) and ends up spilling water all over myself and a friend I am with. She doesn't apologize or anything. She just responds with "oh, did I get you?" It was an entire glass; of course you got us. We finally flag her down for our checks and she ends up messing all of those up. We were there for two hours for two drinks and a bucket of wings. The food was okay but if you are just looking for bar food and cheap drinks go to Dinkytown or down further into stadium village. Tl;Dr: terrible service, basic food took over an hour to get, and treated poorly by staff. read more

I went there for lunch and to drink a couple of beers, what a service! We ordered beer right away but the beer never came, we waited for over 25 minutes until I went to talk to our server whom had disappeared. After that no one came over and we were ready for more beer until the manager stopped by and asked us how we were doing, we complained about the super slow service and he was apologetic. I was able to order a chicken quesadilla through him, which by the way was good, however after that no one came over for a long time. The manager came over again and this time he called a different server which was supposed to get us a second round of beer, finally. He told her to take care of us and to not charge for the first round of beer, to only charge for the quesadilla and the second round of beer. Soon after someone came over with a new quesadilla and no beer, I then explained what happened and got frustrated with the service. I ended up canceling my order and asked for the bill. The bill never arrived, but another manager or something did showed up, he asked about our order and I said I was still waiting for the bill to pay. He apologized and said we were covered and thanked us for coming over. At the end it was nice that we were not charged for the food and beer. However that's not what we came over for, we wanted to celebrate with some beer and food and have a good time. None of these happened. I can try Sally's again, however if it still the same I'll probably go to Stub and Herbs. This place looks good but the service is super slow and inaccurate. read more

Been coming here since being a freshman in college and it never seems to disappoint. Wings are on point at all times of the day and you can't go wrong with the excellent happy hour deals. Service can be eh but if you have enough drinks it works just fine enough. read more

My friend was waiting in the girls bathroom line and the bouncer was aggressively removing girls from boys bathroom line and shoved my friend to the ground for no reason and he aggressively grabbed her shoulders and forced her out of the bar and knocked other girls TO THE FLOOR on the way and when we finally got out i told him that was not okay to treat an innocent girl like that and he proceeded to grab my shoulders and push me to the ground. I've gone out in cities all around the world and have never seen this in my life it was terrifying and so not worth it especially after waiting in line for 45 minutes in -24° weather. No matter what age you are even though it's full of underage kids and should get shut down. read more

Writing this review as we wait for our drinks...again. Let's start at the beginning. There is a sign that says "please see hosts to be seated". The only problem is that no one was routinely checking on the door so at times there were groups waiting for five minutes. Secondly, the drink service is atrocious. We waited more than 20 minutes, multiple times and our waitress forgot or screwed up the drink order more than once. The place wasn't busy when we walked in so there is no excuse. Our food actually beat our drinks every time. We ended up going to the bar to get the rest of our drinks. The speed at which the food showed and the nachos were the only highlights. read more

Bouncer pushed me out. Only go here if you want poor service and a boot out the door when it gets busy and they need your table.

Corinna, Carly, Emily, and Krissy are the best Tuesday night staff- the street tacos and cheese curds were phenomenal! The music was extremely enjoyable as well! THE best bar around! read more

Sally's Saloon was a decent establishment. I wouldn't recommend it for fine dining, but it was ok to grab a quick lunch in. The menu had many options, though not too many would be considered healthy. The weather wasn't great when I was there, but there are many outdoor tables that would have been nice with sunny skies. I had a veggie quesadilla and added chicken. It was tasty and filled me up, if a bit on the greasy side for my taste. My waitress was attentive and polite, and she was able to get the check back to me quickly since I was on a time crunch, which I appreciated. read more

If you are looking for some pretty good food and great prices during Happy Hour this is a good choice. We tried it because it was a beautiful day and we saw that had a patio. On top of that I really wanted a beer :). They had a few different kinds for $2 including the very good Sally's Amber. We tried the Jalapeño Cheese Curds (very good), Queso (OK), and a very delicious bowl of steak Ramen for $2 which was fantastic. The service was pretty good, and honestly at those prices unless it was completely lacking it probably wouldn't bother me. We'll definitely go back! read more

Interesting place. Went here for a guys night out, 28th birthday. We sat and observed the tomfoolery that went on between 10pm and 12am. Girls in tight dresses flirting with every guy in the bar. Girls in tight dresses making out with every guy at the bar. Girls in tight dresses disappearing and reappearing in a matter of minutes. The whole time I was wondering, are they really 21, some looked 30. It was a fun time though. Huge, beautiful tvs hanging on the back walls above the bar, awesome server who made me a lemon drop when it wasn't on the menu. Another server forgot the jalapeno cheese curds we ordered but gave them to us for free an hour later, realizing he had forgotten. I would go back to Sally's. For a Tuesday night business wasn't too bad, this is college town after all. read more

I love Sally's! Its the best place to come on the weekends at night to get drinks or in the morning for breakfast burritos and screwdrivers. My waitress, Syd, was AWESOME. She was swamped but still made my table feel like a high priority! Great service! read more

Went here recently with a couple of others. Food was very good (recommend the turkey avocado wrap), environment was great, and service was terrific. Sydney was our server and did a great job handling our drinks and food. She was fun and seemed to be enjoying her job! Will return! read more

Super fun atmosphere!! It's a great place to go for food or drinks, especially with their happy hour deals! Lots of energy before a game, with an open layout and patio. read more

Super fun sports bar with incredible wings!! Atmosphere is comfortable. Food and spirits were awesome!! Highly recommend.

If you want to go to a bar that denies people of age and allows people underage, this is the place for you!!! The front staff is very rude and disrespectful. read more

Beautiful new restaurant and bar, but below average service. Our server always had to be asked for something and never initiated the sell. I would come back for drinks with hopefully another server. Ours was lethargic and seems to be pestered by our requests of more drinks... And this was us celebrating a graduation from the U of M. This is coming from a fellow server that's been in the industry for over 10 years. read more

Beautiful new location. Got all of the happy hour specials- drinks, appetizers, and $3 burgers. I would recommend the cheese curds and the onion rings weren't too shabby either. Wings were decent and the $3 burger isn't much of a deal. All you get is a patty and a bun. Each add-on is an extra .50 (aka mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, cheese). And you're back up to $6 for a plain old burger no fries or side. Loved the waitstaff, music and dog-friendly patio. read more

Sally's is where my husband and I had our first date 12 years ago as U of MN undergrads, so we decided to go check it out now that it's been rebuilt. We went during happy hour on a Sunday, and it was great. It's reminiscent of the old building but way nicer (and um, cleaner haha). Our server was really friendly and the new decor and atmosphere is nice--it's basically a giant, updated sports bar. But we liked it. The food was good, too. I got a veggie quesadilla (was tasty; lots of cheese and veggies --nothing "out of this world", but again, it's bar food), tater tots (the BEST; hot and perfectly seasoned), and a spicy and strong Bloody Mary; and my husband got a buffalo chicken sandwich which he was really disappointed in as it had no buffalo sauce/flavor at all. Overall I'd go back for HH for sure. read more

Been here numerous times before games and the service, not for lack of effort, is terrible. The servers themselves are great, but they are stretched far too thin. read more

If you've ever been to Sally's you KNOW that Kia is the best bartender you have ever encountered. She makes you feel welcomed as soon as you sit down on the bar stool. She is attentive, efficient, and truly a genius mixologist. She will mix you the best drinks you've ever had!! Sally's could be compared to heaven with Kia as your bartender. She is a real life angel and will have you coming back to Sally's time and time again. The best service you'll ever receive! Be prepared to be blown away with her work ethic and bartending abilities!! You'll love every minute. read more

My husband and I had tickets to a gopher basketball game on a sunday evening so we stopped at sallys before the game. It was very busy and there was a wait for tables so we sat at the corner of the bar. we were being taken care of by either chris or grace (It was very busy and I couldn't hear her name very well) we drank the cowboy ipa and ordered an appetizer. I was so impressed by the bartender, she was so busy but was hustling to take care of everyone, and did so smiling and laughing with customers. Our only complaint was that the wings took over 25 minutes. However the bartender went and checked on them two times, and eventually the manager (nick) came out with two sets of hot wings for us! I was very impressed with how he fixed the mistake and took the wings off our bill. Bravo sallys, we will be back. read more

Great atmosphere, was there on a Saturday night was busy with lots of televisions for sporting events. Kenzie our server was fantastic very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely be back. read more

Sally's happy hour is awesome... And Jenna, our server, was even better! Thank you Jenna!

The service was pretty slow and the food average at best. It's clearly a volume college bar though so what can you expect. We were there for a post surgery meal before my aunt work up from surgery. A decent place with good happy hour pricing. read more

i love Natalie so much. she is the one the best server i have had and great experience here overall. super helpful and super kind.

Great space! Great to have Sally's open back on campus. Food was okay, nothing special. Hopefully it improves with time. Buffalo chicken sandwich was dry, other items just okay. read more

Considering it's on a university campus, you'd think it'd be a little less pricey. I guess drunk college kids will pay whatever you ask them to. My drinks were too much, and the wings were highly mediocre. I also got the Ramen, which lo (mein) and behold was actually just Ramen with tasteless grilled chicken thrown in, even though the regular menu Ramen price is $6. Not even generous dousings of Tabasco sauce were able to fix it. Maybe the foods I didn't try are worth their expense, but overall not enough bang for my swindled buck. Nice Kowloon-esque donuts for many times the Kowloon-esque price. read more

I went there for a happy hour. We ordered the sloppy tots and wings. The tots were OK but the wings were bad, hardly any meat on the wing and bland. The atmosphere/decor was OK, I am bit nostalgic and miss the old Sally's. read more

Great atmosphere. I had the steak tips and cheese curds and loved them both. Great service on drinks too.

Service here is still terrible. Everyone has an attitude - no smiles. We were in again on a Sunday - not busy and got a nice spot at the bar to watch sports. Our entire group was nothing but friendly but we still sat for 15 mins with empty drinks as the bar tender chatted with another server. No apology for the delay. This time we had food off of the regular menu and it left little to be desired. The majority of my Buffalo Chicken Wrap was lettuce. The fries are TERRIBLE! They are chunks of potato that are close to raw. How can you mess up french fries?! The location and good HH deals are still a draw but there are too many better places in this area that we won't need to return any time soon. read more

I sat and waited to be served for an hour and my server refused to acknowledge us. I understand it's a Thursday night and there are numerous obnoxious college students, but come on I'm actually trying to order food this is ridiculous... read more

My friends and I stopped in Sally's before the Gopher Basketball game last night when they played Nebraska. It was an electric environment and super fun to be at. The service was great, we had a really nice server who came and checked on us frequently. I believe her name was Taylor. We ordered apps and drinks and the food came out in a very timely manner. I was impressed with his establishment and the service was excellent. I will definitely be returning before the next gopher athletics event. Ski-U-Mah!!! read more
