First time here!! Visited this place with a group of ladies and although they were able to accommodate our large party there were several blips. We had 18 ladies to seat, but when we arrived the tables were not ready and we had to scramble a bit to get the proper seating. The ladies were nice, but there was a bit of confusion and delays in service. The ambiance was cool. Service was cool, not great. Food was tasty, everyone seemed to be pleased and left in food comas! I sat on this review for a while.... We stopped in for brunch for my sisters birthday. It's not really my vibe to begin with, but I will say we had fun. Security was wack. As ridiculous as the word is, that's the equivalent of security. They were not cordial, had no service and couldn't simply hold the door open for two 40+ women on a Sunday after 2pm. I found that distasteful. There doesn't appear to be any communication between door hostess and those seating. We were getting 2 different stories. We didn't know that you couldn't make reservations day of, so you couldn't be seated indoors and/or order food (only drinks) until a certain time frame, which sounded like the hour of seating so all orders can go in together at the same time across the restaurant. They were extremely packed. We were then seated outdoors. Outdoors = picnic tables on the sidewalk on dirty 6th street. I was NOT feeling that. The lady who sat us was kind enough to find us a table indoors. She informed us it wasn't the best table, but I did not care, it was NOT ON 6TH STREET. Ambiance is definitely on the ratchet meets a lituation type vibe. The music was good. I'm old and knew no songs LOL, but it was definitely a vibe. The decor was really nice. There were photo opportunities and a picture wall. There's a full bar and a dj that spinning the whole time you're there. They're taking song requests, we had a birthday complimentary bottle of champagne. I think you need to ask for it in order to get it. Everyone there is like 21-35, if that. We were overdressed because it was club attire. I wasn't feeling the bathrooms. As much money as they bring in, on a Sunday ALONE, they could fix the toilet paper roll. The food was okay. I was out in Minneapolis visiting and came across this restaurant online while looking for a Brunch spot to go to on a Sunday. The reviews were great about the food so that sold me even though some people were not happy about the service. Well let me just say I'm glad I didn't let that steer me away. My husband and I enjoyed every moment it was such a vibe and our service was great. We ordered the Düsse Lemonade pitcher along with the selection of 2 meats and 4 sides for each of us. Lol, remember we're not from here so yes I wanted to taste everything and boy we looked like two greedy individuals but the food did not disappoint. Nabil, one of the club owners, shows no respect towards his staff and the way he treats his staff is the way his staff treats customers. 2. Inconsistent drink prices . Some of the bartenders choose their own price on however much a drink cost and it's never consistent from person to person or day to day. 3. Eerie atmosphere. Ever since their best security guard left (Phe) , I have not felt safe going back. With the right amount of money, you can get anything past the security guards. So if you're looking for a FUN, SAFE, and RESPECTABLE night club to go to, my advice is to seek elsewhere. read more

Definitely a lituation of a spot for Sunday Brunch. Visitor be warned, this is a hiphop joint and there are metal detectors and security. The place had great music and more than enough servers to tend to the crowd. The food was really good and a ridiculous amount of TVs (perfect for sporting events)... I really wish the bathrooms were cleaner but the restrooms were huge with no wait. I highly recommend the Dusse Pitcher. I will definitely return to this spot for Brunch. Music is real classy with RNB and gospel from 11-130pm. After, more hip-hop and rap Is played. So, be mindful of what type of vibe you are going for. In here to post about Goldroom Brunch. The food is served buffet style but they also have the a la carte options for chicken and waffles, french toast and all the individual sides from the buffet. I did not try the buffet but within our group 5 did and felt it was up to par for southern taste buds. I got the lemon pepper wet wings that were AMAZING, and Im from Atlanta so I know wings, along side a bowl of mac and cheese which was not your grandmas but also not "Beckys" if you know what i mean. The music was not the best this particular Sunday but things have been moving slower with the COVID out break. Goldroom offers Bottomless Mimosa but the set up has its pros and cons. Pros: They offer Cranberry, Pineapple and Orange juice for mixing with the Champagne. In order to make this viable each juice and the Champagne are in separate containers so you pour each serving yourself. If you prefer more champagne than juice or vice versa you have the option to do so. Cons: Drinks are served in a tall shoot like glass which holds just as much as any other glass BUT with set up you're often getting out of your seat to refill your drink. At about half way through we found we could ask servers to fill the glass for use but you then lose the option to make it as you please. read more

Very poor experience! Went there for brunch Sunday Morning. There were more workers than customers. That being said, you'd expect quicker service. We were seated and nearly 15 minutes went by before someone took our order. The cups on the table were dirty, I wiped lip gloss off of one. We were finally given menus to see, no one presented the buffet as an option nor was it on the menu. My friend and I ordered and waited over 30 minutes before I flagged someone down to see what was going on. The waitress responded, "yea, I put your order in". I kindly explained the amount of time it's been and she said she'd check on it. She then disappears for another 10 minutes then asks someone else to tell us it's gonna be a few more minutes. Well, another 15 minutes goes by, no food, no one checking on us, so I flag someone down again. He actually tells us what's going on and we get food within the next 10 minutes. I wish it was worth the extended wait but it missed the mark by far! So disappointed. I explained that to yet another person who stated we didn't have to pay due to such poor service and mediocre food. I was encouraged to return but I'm not so sure I'll do that. While that may be enough to get me to come back for a night out at Goldroom Mpls, it is not enough to make me try the brunch again. Here is a list of the problems 1. We sat at the table for 20-30 minutes with just menus and had to wave a server down for waters and to order. 2. We asked for a drink menu and never got one. Water it is! 3. Every single person had an issue with their meals. There were 7 of us. That's 7 problems! 4. The sides were good, but the main dishes were not. After waiting so long they were cold and had flavor issues. 5. The grease was obviously old because everything fried was burnt and not appealing. 6. There's more but I'm too hungry to type about it. I looooooove this place! I stopped by for the first time last Friday for a late happy hour. It has a super sexy vibe with low blue lighting. It's definitely more classy than other bars in the city. It was refreshing to see people actually dressed up. That's hard to come by in Minnesota. (Ahem!) There was no line, the cover was free, and so was coat check! Can't beat that. I think it is ridiculous they charge you a fee for paying with a credit card and they also make you pay 5 dollars to check your coat. It's Minnesota so of course it's cold and everyone wears coats. This place has the most horrible services. The bouncers were rude from the beginning. We got there at 10:45 and they warned us that the outside patio was only opened until 11:30. We were fine with that and ordered a hookah and some drinks. When we got our hookah it was okay for about 10 minutes then it was burnt out and the coals were also burning out. They did not refill the coals. The server was rude and did not seem to want to take any additional although it was not time to close yet. Different employees continued to approach us with different closing times, leaving us very confused. Once it was time for us to pay our tab (which was well past 11:30) they took their time. This place deserves LESS than 1 star. We went here for a birthday, with reservations for 14, but 7 of us were there first. The night started with standard temp checks but after that our group were seated on broken seats outside. THIS was the VIP lounge area. We started with 2 250 dollar bottles of Dusse (Minimum 300/VIP group) which took FOREVER to come out. When the rest of our group arrived they didn't want to let them in, saying they weren't with the group we only reserved 10. (Makes no sense when only 7 people were there already, and they knew we were waiting for others)...After they came out with the bottles, the tender, who was nice.. actually wasted the juice In the ice buckets.. things were just sloppy. When it was time to order food the waiter took the orders but they also took VERY long to come out. Half of our group were done eating our food in our laps in to go containers (no tables In VIP, only two side tables the alcohol sat on) before the other half even ordered. The place was really boring and expensive. When we left out the area for a smoke break, they didn't want to let us back in. Two people In Our group ordered wings but are allergic to fish. When he ate the wings his tongue started to tingle, and immediately asked the host if they had fried the wings in fish grease or near fish.. which he said he doesn't know, he can't move. The entire experience, for a bill of 855 dollars (not including everyone's entree) was just trash. It's a complete shame when you try to support black owned businesses, and they completely FAIL at providing good customer service or service at all. We will NEVER be back. read more

Recently visited Minnesota from Florida and went to the Gold Room on a Friday evening, after hearing it was the place to be. The music was great the entire time but the food was horrible. Ordered lemon pepper wings which were over cooked and no flavor, fries were cold, fried green tomatoes were cooked too crisp, seemed to be fried in the wrong batter and tomatoes inside were slimy/not fresh. Not for Diners Over 30 5 of us to dinner here on a Friday night before a concert next door at Cowles Center. The place is basically a bar with some booths. There was a private party going on with a disk jockey blasting music. We were told the party would be over in 30 minutes but that was not true. The music was so loud we could barely hear each other but maybe that was the point. As more people came in, it was clear that this restaurant catered to young people who enjoyed the blasting music. Never have I ever been so disrespected at an establishment especially where I'm paying money for overpriced food and drinks. First I will say the waitress was wonderful and understanding. But the service here was HORRENDOUS. This included the MANAGER, the doorman, AND the bar tender. When we first arrived we were told that there's a $40 entrance fee and cash only. The members of our other party were already seated. When we got to our table, we found out other members of our party were charged $20. One member was told $40 for men and $20 for women. However, me and the other guest were both women. We were already angry, but since we already paid the entrance fee we might as well stay right? After we eat our appetizer we were told that the because it's late, the chef can only make the small plates since they were quicker to make. OK. Then the self-proclaimed manager stated that the chef would make the large plates only if we tipped $5 per large plates, and for our trouble the manager would give us a round of free drinks. This was because the chef's shift was almost over, and he didn't want to make him "stay over his shift".One, a member of our party doesn't drink, so this wasn't a a pro for her. This is extortion. So we said we would only order from the small plates, and the manager comes back and says "oh the chef will satisfy your original orders". Great. The funny thing is, the four large plates came out of the kitchen within five minutes. AND two of the orders were wrong. The large plates actually came out ten minutes quicker than the one small plate that was ordered (which was encouraged from the beginning). During our dinner, multiple people bumped into our table bringing out tables for bottle service, and a drink was even spilled on my sister by one of the employees. As we were eating we were constantly told that someone reserved our table. At this point, we were already there for 30 minutes, AS we were eating. The waitress then offered to take our picture by the photo wall, the bus boy walked by and a member of our party informed him that we weren't leaving and that we were going to take a picture. We got up from our table to take our picture, and when we returned all of our food was gone. We barely even touched our plates. The manager came over and we angrily told him of what happened. As he was explaining, the busboy took the table clothes underneath our drinks and took our drinks from underneath us. The manager then grabbed tablecloths and began setting the table again with small cups and buckets of ice. THEY WERE SETTNG UP FOR THE NEXT TABLE for bottle service. This is BEYOND unacceptable. As a black woman, I always try to find ways to support black businesses. But I will NEVER go to that establishment and recommend that no one ever support this business again.
