I was a walk in and of course very skeptical at first, but was greeted very kindly by one of the stylists named Lisa and Nancy, the owner was able to take me within 15 minutes. She listened to what I wanted and got the job done. My hair was very easy to style during that month and the months to continue! Nancy was great! Although being an owner, you would never know it. What a find!! I got…read moremarried on a Sunday in Worcester and called all around looking for a salon to do my hair and my bridesmaids' hair. Almost every salon was closed or would charge me an arm and leg to come to the hotel. The situation was a nail biter until I called Salon West and found out that they were open! Although it is unnerving to go to a salon we had never used for the big day, we felt confident with the reviews online. I had fairly good expectations - but could not shake that shadow of doubt. We showed up for a trial - and was immediately put at ease. The salon has a very small, cozy and welcoming feel with big open windows, two stations for cutting, and a big red wall with the 2 additional sinks against it. I was happy with my trial, but after wearing it for the day I started noticing things that I wanted to change about it. Barbara was a joy, taking all of concerns, addressing them, and changing my updo style on the day of the wedding. My hair ended up looking more amazing than I had ever imagined! I absolutely loved it! In 6 hours, Barbra transformed the hair of 6 ladies. Each girl had a different style, and Barbra did such an amazing job executing our hair styles while maintaining our individual personalities! All of our hair lasted through the night. (We are in our mid-twenties and danced the night away with no worries!!) Barbra was so great and allowed us to basically take over the space for the day! We were doing our nails, munching on lunch, doing our make-up and hanging out. She was so easy to get along with - and was really fun to be around on the special day! Barbra, we'll never forget you! I forewarned her about my curly hair and I had exceedingly high hopes for the cut to make my curls more bouncy. When I was turned to the mirror, I was in quite a bit of a shock....my hair was a bob!!!! Well above my shoulders and basically to my ears!!! I replied with the usual "I love it" because I was just seriously shocked! I didn't want my hair that short, I specified my shoulders, not to my ears!!!! I repeatedly said shoulder length and my stylist got a little over zealous with the cut! The staff and patrons were very nice and I'm honestly not sure if she intentionally cut it way way WAY too short, or if it was an accident. I was just hurt that she didn't listen to me and now I am stuck with a too short haircut that I can't even put into a ponytail. I didn't think the place was bad per se, it was clean and they were nice people......but my experience was a huge let down, I am very disheartened and this is probably my last salon visit for at least another 15 years! I am stuck with this until it grows out, but I am so completely unhappy by this new do. I am placing two stars for the haircut and my stylist not listening to me and just doing what she wanted. The salon itself seemed nice and the other patrons seemed happy, I just think the stylists need to listen to their clients!

The stylist informed us she would need her hair bleached for the color to take. After sitting in the chair for approx. 4 hours her hair was several shades of orange, gold and tan. He then gave her the cut which he spent approx. 10 mins on. She has long pieces in several areas and it's choppy. He then put the color on and waited 25 mins. The color was not even close to what she wanted. It was intended to be a dark green, I have never seen such a shade of turquoise. We were told it would last 2 to 4 weeks. After one wash using Redken Extending Shampoo her hair was several shades of green and blue. All this for $300. I realize this is not an easy procedure, I was more upset by the lack of detail on the cut.

She's a newer stylist I believe but for blonde highlights on thick/regular hair like mine I would DEFINITELY recommend her. I will update after my haircut next time.
