I was greeted and seated by Chris and was embarrassed to explain my situation but he made me comfortable and did not scold me about my "quarantine Covid hair". I'm sure there is no one on the islands who can cut and color like Alan. He is incredibly talented and I am so happy I found his salon! My hair hasn't looked this good in years. I have been to many stylists at salons all over the world, and he's consistently better than all of them. My hair texture is fine and tough to color/cut, since every little flaw is apparent. Not only does Alan get the cut and color PERFECT every time, he is so efficient! I don't have to sit in the chair for hours and hours. Also, the receptionists at the salon are welcoming, helpful and kind. This really sets a positive tone when you make an appointment or inquire about services/products. I was very impressed by the COVID safety measures recently taken by the salon. It appears they have seriously followed the state/federal requirements and CDC guidelines to make sure their stylists and clients are safe. I felt very safe and comfortable getting my first post COVID services. I've been getting my hair cut with Alan for almost 2 years now and prior to that I always jumped around from stylist to stylist never really feeling WOW-ed by any of them. ALAN IS THE ONE!!!!! Gotta say Sega is a hair Guru. I went to Salon Blanc when I first moved here, got Sega and got a great hairstyle, but went into sticker shock at the cost. Decided to try another salon that wasn't quite so expensive but that was a mistake. I wanted a cut and color, The stylist said she couldn't color already colored hair, but said adding more Highlights would lighten the style. She then asked me to hold and hand her foil as we went along, she pulled my hair, commented on how many grey hairs I have, placed the foil on my face as she applied the dye and the ripped the foil out of my hair without unrolling it. She spent 2 hours doing highlights and it felt like an eternity, then she said there wasn't enough time for the cut and charged me $100. When I saw my hair, it didn't look any different but the stylist and managers assured me it was. Even after I got home my boyfriend said it only looked a little lighter and only under certain light. Luckily I got a refund and headed straight back to Salon Blanc and to Sega and I will never leave them again. I was in his chair for 3 hours but the time seemed to fly by I love what he did for my new color and my hair has never looked or felt better. Kimberly Abe always produces great haircuts! I would highly recommend her. She takes extra care in making sure you get the best style and cut. I've been going to Kim for about a year and a half, and every time, I have never left disappointed. She never rushes and always makes sure I look good. She gives suggestions to make my hairstyle look better as well as informing me about which hair product would work best. The atmosphere at Salon Blanc looks great and bright with the white walls and large mirrors. The hair washing stations provide great support to your neck and head so you can relax more easily. I used to always go to a cheap barber shop because I thought a haircut was just a haircut. Then I grew up. Salon Blanc is definitely worth trying out, especially for men. Its affordable and comfortable! PRICE (men - $50 + free side trim) A lot of people are taken back when I tell them the price it costs for a haircut at Salon Blanc. $50 is a little steep for a haircut, especially when you need one every 3 weeks. What makes it affordable and worth it at Salon Blanc is their FREE side trim. Thats right, you can get a free side trim within 3 weeks of getting your haircut. As a male with hair that grows pretty quickly, I would need a haircut in 3 weeks anyway. Basically I am paying only $25 per haircut! This is a great price for a salon! Although I paid $15-20 at a barber shop before, the quality of the hair styles are different. I also get my hair washed each time I go to Salon Blanc with no extra charge. SERVICE: My hairstylist, Mai, really understands my wants and needs for my hair. She will let me know what her opinions are if I ask her and accommodates to what I am looking for. I have also had a haircut from Sam and Sega before (Mai was on a trip or I needed a last minute haircut when she was not available) and was very happy with their services too. The 3 stylists I have had were attentive to what I was looking for and took their time to make sure their work was perfect. I really like how people are always sweeping the floors around them and helping each other keep the place neat. When stylists do not have a client, they are usually talking with each other. This may bother some people, but it makes it seem more relaxed and friendly to me, which I appreciate. APPOINTMENTS: It is so easy to make appointments with the stylists. You can book your next appointment when youre finished with your haircut. They also text you a couple days before your appointment to remind and confirm your appointment. This is so helpful! ATMOSPHERE: It is very clean and modern inside. The front desk is right there when you enter. Most times there is someone there, but there have been times when I had to wait a little for someone to help me. They offer free water or coffee while you sit and wait which is really nice. They also sell Lemon Tea, which is tea with your choice of flavor. I believe the owners of the salon are owners of Lemon Tea. PARKING: They have a shared private lot with Panya and Tango (along with the apartment building). They validate on weekdays and weekends are automatically free! OVERALL: This has been my go-to for the last 6 years and do not plan to change. I like the stylists, the shop itself, and the price. I am not sure about the services they provide women, but it is always filled with women and men so I am sure the quality is just as good. read more

This is a VERY late review for my experience with Karen on Saturday, February 3. She is BOMB! For rating, I would give this salon a 4.5 because although this is a GREAT salon for coloring, this is only the second salon that I've experienced. But since rating in decimals is not a Yelp feature, I am rounding up. Please note that I am not reviewing about haircuts and styling. Background: In the past, I only bleached my hair once (two years ago). Since then, I grew my hair out and cut out the bleached ends so I could start fresh. Therefore, I am neither commenting on color correction. Proceeding on. . . . Highlights (pun intended): (1) Karen asked me what I wanted to do with my hair; (2) Karen recommended a different color that matches my skin tone; (3) Karen explained to me the different options/processes that were available to me; (4) Karen quoted the prices ahead of time; and (5) Karen did not add additional charges.*** *** I have a LOT of hair on my head. On Karen's list of clients with most hair - she put me in her top 5. Even though it took over three hours to treat my hair, Karen did not add an extra dollar to my original quote. She even trimmed my bangs! Instead, Karen told me that the next time I came in, it would cost a bit more. To elaborate on the situation, Karen had to get two additional bowls of bleach and a second bowl of toner for my hair. Environment: It's a great salon space and is conveniently located in Ward. Parking was free on Saturday so no complaints there. The interior is bright and clean; stylists are friendly and work well together. For example, Shy (not sure of how to spell her name) was helping Karen so much during the process of coloring my hair. The owner, Alan, was also around supervising, working, and had been the one to greet me at the door. Cost: Yes, it is pricey. But I'm more concerned about things getting done RIGHT, the FIRST time. Think about it . . . if you got a botched hair coloring, you're bound to pay more or double for someone else to correct the color. Aftermath: I didn't tell people that I got my hair done, but obviously going from black to golden, people noticed. If people asked, I recommended Salon Blanc and said it's a trustworthy place if you are anxious about getting your hair colored. (I was. So much so that I canceled two hair appointments at other salons.) In the end, I'm glad I went to Salon Blanc. Many have told me that I look brighter and softer. Karen knows color! Overall, Karen is professional, talented, and proactive. I would recommend Salon Blanc. read more

I was thoroughly impressed with all the measures they have established to keep their clientele safe. Easy instructions texted to you the day before the appointment. Temp checks at check in. My wife booked an appointment with her stylist Mia at Salon Blanc because my hair was getting too long. She wanted me to try her salon and treated me to this appointment today. Salon Blanc is located in Ward in the same condo building as Tango and Pan Ya. My appointment time was scheduled for 1115 but I showed up early just in case. My stylist Mia was still with another customer so I waited for my appointment. When Mia was ready she was very thorough and asked how I wanted my hair cut and looked at my hair very closely to see what type of hair style fit me. She was very good at seeing my what hair style was good and was able determine my hair type. My hair cut came with a nice shampoo and scalp massage. Mia did a nice job washing my hair and massaging my scalp that I wanted to relax and fall sleep. She did a excellent job cutting my hair and made sure it was done to perfection. I told her I normally just go to a barber shop where they just used mechanical clippers so it was nice when she took the expertise time and precision using the various types of shears to give my hair a light texture look. I felt spoiled by all of of this bc I had not gotten a hair cut like this in a while. Mia finished off my hair cut with a quick rinse to get rid off any loose hair and applied a hair cream to style my new hair cut to perfection. She went as far as to continue to trim my styled hair so it was balanced. Mia at Salon Blanc did an excellent job cutting my hair. It of course costed more than my normal barber shop but it was good to get a nice complete well deserved hair cut with a shampoo, and scalp massage. Mia even asked to come back in a few weeks for a complimentary trim to keep my hair looking nice until my next appointment. I highly recommend Mia from Salon Blanc as she does a nice great job styling your hair with perfection. I will try go a few times a year to spoil myself with a nice hair cut. read more

It was by far the best decision I have ever made.
