Sunni has been amazing and always works hard to make sure she gives you the design & outcome you're hoping for. Sunni is super efficient too but doesn't compromise quality. Kim is awesome! She is so good and patient with cutting my toddlers hair. He doesn't like getting his hair cut and would cry, but Kim always makes sure my son is comfortable. We were just walking around Niles after a failed attempt to visit the Farmer's Market and came across this salon. My bf treated us to manis/pedis and surprisingly, this place is very reasonably priced! The aunties doing our nails/toes were so sweet and mine actually recommended that I do an almond shape instead of square based off the shape of my fingers. My friend and I have made a habit of visiting here on the recommendation of her friend, starting this past summer. Sunni is amazing! A true artist with the nail art. Every time, she surprises me with the cute stuff she can fit on my tiny little baby-sized nails (a challenge for a nail artist, but one that is met with aplomb!). The salon has many other services, including haircuts, waxing, etc. We usually get the UV gel nails for mani and pedi. They last a solid 3 weeks, really longer but that's about when my nails get too long. They keep up on the current nail art trends and are patient with those "custom" requests too! Don't visit if you are a new customer. They won't entertain. I had booked an appointment and i was on time, still i had to wait for 30mins. After that the lady who assisted me was doing half job on me and another half job on another customer (this was on a weekday ). This was not the case with (may be) regular customers. They just walked in straight and the service provided was totally different. The price is reasonable but the service quality is bad. They didn't clean the cuticles for manicure and $20 for polish change even when there is no polish on the nails. Overall my experience was bad and would skip this place. read more

I'm being generous and giving them two stars because the girls kindly took us when they were already busy, but it was all downhill from there. 1. I watched the woman before me leave the pedicure chair and watched as the girl drained the tub and then asked me to get in. I then asked for the tub to be cleaned: she says she had rinsed it so it was fine... NO, IT IS NOT. I restated that I wanted it CLEANED, not rinsed. The gal huffed but did it. 2. I then got in and tried to use the massage remote attached to the chair, but its broken. 3. The girl pushing back my cuticles was more concerned with looking at her coworker and their conversation than focusing on my feet. She kept hurting me but I was ignored until I finally told her to stop. 4. She then quickly (and sloppily) applied two coats of polish before putting on a top coat and moving to the next client. The only reason I go out for mani/pedi is because I want something done better than i can do at home. This was a disappointment and a waste of money considering I'm going to have to go home and fix it. I dont care how reasonable this place is: save your money, invest in a nail kit and do it yourself. Exactly why I do not like going to random spots. I was too tried on Friday evening to take a further drive to rosehip. Ended paying $20 for a 20 minute pedicure... Literally. Another spa that tries to rush you for a dollar. The place is dead, mine as well do a good treatment and try to make a customer happy. I'm currently sitting here at the manicure table. Why? Waiting for someone to pay attention to my friend. We both came in a little after 3 pm and we've been here for over an hour. (Edit: It's now 4:30 and the end is almost in sight. Almost. Please, I just want to leave.) (Edit 2: I'm debating whether to leave my friend behind. It's 4:40 and we're still with the light & now there's the cuticle clippers again [??]. I'm so confused.) Counting all the time my person spent on me (there were many long breaks as she tended to other customers, like the lady next me & her nails, or waxing someone's eyebrows, or ringing someone up at the register, or cutting someone's hair), my gel manicure only took like 15 minutes. (Edit: Looking back, we should have taken it as a bad omen when the lady next to me was annoyed with the staff. Please take this as yours.) Back to the staff person that did my nails: Did she look at my hand as she filed or clipped the cuticle? Only for a second, as she scanned the rest of the salon. Did she ask what shape I wanted my nails? No - why would she? I have some nice square nails now. This whole time I've preferred rounded nails. Wow. I've always wanted my stubby fingers to look stubbier. Did she really pay attention to how the paint was on my nails? Nah. Takes too much time. Paying attention to something else is a better option, clearly. The price on the sign outside lists gel nails at $15. I paid $18. Why? Oh, because. I asked her to redo the accent nail. Why? Oh. Because. Their color wheels aren't accurate. I paired a nice blue & sparkly gold together. The blue turned out to be a flat grey, which, in my opinion, doesn't pair well with gold. She told me that I'd have to pay extra to get it fixed. We then settled on having her paint the grey over the gold since it'd be cheaper for me and less time for her. There are see-through patches on the other grey nails because there aren't six layers of paint on the nail. I don't even like having grey nails - I've done it before & I'm not into it. (Edit: There are gold flakes from the original paint job now appearing. How. How is this happening.) (EDIT: Actually. The price for a gel manicure is $18. The gel polish change is $15. But it's listed as gel nail on the sign. Which. Is. Confusing. I ended up asking about the difference in price and at first, they said it was because I changed color. But then they said that the mani is $18, the polish friggin change is at $15. They tell me to look at their sign and tell me it's written so clearly. Might I suggest: No. Piss off. I work in customer service, they have none. Don't bother giving them your money.) This place is a joke. In the time that I've written this, my friend's manicure has started, but her person decided to take a break and give some guy a haircut. She finished the haircut and now is back with my friend & removed her old gel polish incorrectly. Also. Fun facts. The washing machine is going & sounds like the someone wading through a calf-deep puddle. The chemical smell is STRONG here, also. It's given me a headache. Now a vacuum is going. Perfect. She's run it into my chair and the desk like three time. This is very helpful to my headache, thank you. The employees don't really talk to you except to confirm the number of your color from the wheel (um, hello; you took the color wheel from me after I pointed out the color I liked) OR to tell you to keep switching your hand in and out of the gel dry light at random times. Also! These lights are glued / taped to shoe boxes. Yes, this place reeks of professionalism. I'm never coming here again and highly recommend that you don't bother coming here either. I was tempted by the price and convenience of it, but please. Walk down the street to Pretty Nail or find another nail salon, guys. It's not worth it. Also, I'm still sitting here and wrote it all while my friend was waiting & getting her nails done. I've edited it about 8 times, adding in different details from this super lovely experience. You need to know all about it. I have too much time on my hands. If you value your time & health of your nails, do not bother coming. Final edit: We left at 4:50. Great shop, super friendly staff and awesome prices!!!! The only thing you have to be careful for is that they don't sneak gel polish on instead of regular polish. This place is very very big on putting gel polish on so make sure you make it very clear you don't want it and won't be paying for it unless you want it. They have done this two times now, the first time I told them no and they still did it so I didn't tip, this time I was too busy talking to a friend to realize it. read more

Came here the other day with my mom for a little mother daughter time. This is the first time we went to the salon, we are normally regulars at another place but the employees were often more rude and ignored us so we decided to find another place. Thankfully because of yelp I found this place. We came on a Friday afternoon we were greeted by all the ladies and were seen immediately. I was amazed by how big this salon is and how much services they do. I also loved how they asked us for our name and had a conversation with us, they truly have costumer service down. Another thing that won me over is how the lady who did my pedicure got all my ingrown toenails out (yeah TMI but since I was in high school I've been getting them because of soccer). Overall I would definitely come back here again, this is now going to be my new default salon when I go back home. Worst place to get your nails done! If you just need a simple manicure, pedicure it's a great place but if you want something more, don't come here. This has been my second time here with a different girl and both can't seem to work well with nail shape (almond or round) and they always seem to mess up on my acrylic. Every other nail will be chunky because of too much acrylic powder. This time, I was told that they do chrome nails and I left with white nails because the girl couldn't do them without making it look blotchy. Waste of time and money! read more

Left with my fingers sore and my nails filed horribly,and my polish plopped on. I looked like I had marshmallows on my fingertips. I walked into some of the antique stores after and one of the shopkeepers guessed I had gone to Salon Du Monde. She said that happened to her every time she ever tried to go there and that she's pretty sure she got a staph infection from there once. Will NEVER give this place another shot. Took my sister who has Down Syndrome here to get her nails and toes done as she usually will not let any of us help her with them. The ladies we so sweet and gentle with her and kept checking in to make sure she was doing good. With the pedicure they soak your feet, cut the nails, push back the cuticle, lotion up the foot and leg, remove dry skin from foot and paint the nail. My sister has pretty dry skin and her feet looked great after. The manicure comes with a nail soak and cleaning, cuticle pushback, cut and paint.
