Went to JoeMary for NBR extensions, cut, and custom color about a week ago. I had a 20 minute phone call with her maybe a week before for a consult, pricing and she answered all the questions i had. She ordered my hair and somehow she worked magic and got me long, thick, beautiful hair with the best color I have EVER had. Truth: I will never go anywhere else! I haven't had any professional touch my hair in years, and as a mom of a 5 year old and 9 month old, I finally went for a cut. I recently went to Salon Eden for NBR extensions that I had installed by the owner (JoeMary). It was a pretty decently quick appointment, as far as extensions go, and the great convo made the time go by faster. My hair is voluminous and shiny and a pinch longer than my natural hair (I got the max length @22"). I love it. Takes a little getting used to as far as the rows on your head, but after the initial first week, it's as though they've been on my head for awhile now. I found this place at the last minute 3 days before my best friends wedding because our other plans for hair and makeup fell through. I called and they were able to schedule 3 of us for hair that Saturday morning. When we walked in I was nervous that they would be stuck-up and overrated and overpriced but immediately felt comfortable and welcome! The owner Joemary and stylist Erin talked to us about what we wanted, told us how much it would cost, and even said they had the time to do each of our makeup as well. The price is expensive but for the service that we received totally worth it. My best friend did have to make some minor adjustments to her makeup and hair before the wedding but that was truly due to her being a perfectionist and not being able to get her vision across to them entirely lol. My hair was great, it just absolutely does not hold curl. My makeup was flawless and I felt so good throughout the night because I wasn't worried about how I looked! Our other friend loved her service as well. We were served mimosas and crackers, the music was very chill and we had good conversation with everyone there. The salon is much bigger and beautiful on the inside! If you have the money to invest in hair and makeup I highly recommend visiting this salon. She was absolutely fantastic! She sat me down before she started and we discussed how I wanted my hair to look. My color was exactly what I wanted and my cut was the best one I've had in a long time. Well here I am on the fence again, caught between a 3 and a 4. The pedicure gets a 4. Everything else about the experience: 3. I had a spa pedi and a gel manicure. I was kept waiting for about 15 minutes past the scheduled time of my appointment, and I finally inquired if it would be much longer. I was beginning to feel like I was in the doctor's office. So the front desk staff went to check, and then said, "Why don't you come pick out your color?" So I did. The poor nail tech was booked solid and had to squeeze in her lunch while my feet were soaking. She was very talkative and friendly. Usually I want to close my eyes and relax, but she was nice enough, so we chit-chatted for awhile. She came from another salon, and told me about their poor practices and how much happier she is here. My toes look beautiful and professional. So do my hands, except there is a part of my thumb where the polish began to lift a couple hours after my service. I keep fiddling with it and I'm not sure how to fix it. I don't often have gel on my fingernails, but I have not seen it lift like this before. She also told me that I should have let her know first if I had gel polish on my hands, because she didn't realize, and that they would have to soak for awhile to get the gel off. I didn't know I had to let her know that before my pedicure. The soaking only took like ten minutes and it came right off my fingers. It was a little chilly back in the nail room. I'm glad the pedicure chair had a "heating" function. That room could use a little bit of a facelift- kind of dull and no natural sunlight comes in. I wasn't crazy about the bright overhead lighting.....takes away from the spa ambiance. Again.....I felt slightly like I was at a doctor's office. I liked the water pressure of the pedicure bowl. Massage function was nice, but I wish it reclined a little bit further. So over-all, it was comme-ci, comme-ca. read more

Used Groupon, but three times salon told me the only stylist available would require an up charge. Scam. Groupon has been alerted. Stylist (owner) was running late and took me to a dirty station with previous customer's hair all over floor. Stylist was supposed to be artistic director, but she totally did not know how to give me an ash blonde color and blamed it on my hair. Every competent stylist I have ever used knew how to create formula to have the desired outcome for the hair type. I told her I was unhappy with the color because I specifically said no brassy/gold and that was exactly what she gave me. It was almost a copper color. She blamed the outcome on my hair and her salon lighting. She only offered to put toner on, but since she was already charging me an additional $60, I was not about to give her more. Stylist's family, of at least six, were all over the salon and her child interrupted our consultation. The stylist was obviously distracted by her young child and her sister-in-laws hair treatment. Unprofessional. Stylist did not check on color processing, as every other salon would for a first time customer. That's a no brainer since all hair types react differently. Former employee, who left on their own decision, not disgruntle, told me owner has friends posting fake reviews. Don't waste your time or money! Owner responded to my review and instead of offering to remedy her mistake, she blocked me so I wasn't able to respond back to her. read more

Unfortunately we were disappointed. It took five hours for my daughter to get a balayage and, after all the processing on her hair, it still was more all-over blonde than a balayage. Some of price quoted got raised without consent. It was very stressful. Finally JoMary agreed to refund the cost of blow drying her hair since she talked to the stylist and decided it was a "misunderstanding", but usually blow drying hair is not "on the house". Quoted $135, paid $235, refunded $32. They did offer for her to come in again and they would work on her hair, but we had lost faith in them and didn't want to go through more. Hair was not done as desired, pricing was sneaky, and settling this situation took a lot of time and did not make us feel like the customer, but more of a debate and settlement. I had NBR (natural beaded row) extensions installed for the first time at Salon Eden. The staff here are very friendly from the get go! They do have a few beverages and snacks available for clients too! I had my consultation with salon owner, JoeMary. JoeMary was very informative and thorough explaining NBR, how it works, pricing, and her recommendations. I booked my install with stylist Kat. The whole process took about 6 hours total, which involved coloring my hair, the extension hair, and of course installing the extensions. Kat made sure I was comfortable throughout the process and that the extensions never felt too tight. They do have a handout with some helpful tips on maintaining extensions and they also discuss this in the salon too. I will say I had a small issue with my extensions and reached out to the salon about this and they handled it very professionally and fixed the problem for me in a prompt manner. Their rates are pretty similar to other NBR stylists in the Raleigh area. I would recommend checking out their work on Instagram and seeing if it's a fit for you! read more

You can see my roots and it's as if I never even got my hair foiled to begin with. If I could give them a Zero rating I would. They have the worse customer service and are so unprofessional . I went for a haircut at the beginning of December , and the tools the hairstylist was using were not working . She had two other stylist look at the tool while cutting my hair , and she was pulling my hair the whole time . During my haircut, one of the stylist came around me to distract the one who was cutting my hair to make a tik tok about lunch time . I did not say anything at the time because I wanted my haircut, and during the end I asked for a hair consultation for a balayage. After the consultation, I was told the price would be $335 total. Thus, I scheduled the appointment for my balayage , and took time off from work to do so. As it was time to pay for my haircut ( a simple haircut) , the price changed from the original $50 that said online to $70 not including tip. Next, I showed up to my balayage appointment on time with the price $335 in mind, and when the hair stylist gave the the price before we started it was $375 plus automatic %20 gratuity. I asked why the price changed , and I was told the $335 was just a rough estimate. When I asked if the price could be changed to what was promised, the hairstylist talked to the manager/ owner three times and he would not change the price . I told them it was disgusting how they changed the prices, and that I wanted to cancel because I was upset about the price. At that point it was going to be $450 plus whatever other fee they would add. As soon as I said "never mind I don't want the service" they said it was going to be a $55 cancellation fee. They did-not let me leave peacefully , and one of the employees was harassing me saying that she was the one that told me it was a rough quote and that there was no assessment done. I reminded her that I was at the salon two weeks before for an assessment and that the words "rough quote" were never used. She got defensive and said "we are not the bad guys we don't want you to be upset " and she wanted to see if I still wanted to get my hair done if they got close to the promised price. Which sounded like they still wanted to milk me for my money. She went even further by saying look we don't want you to lose out on doing your hair and she is losing a client . Which at this point I was at the point where I wanted to cry out of frustration. I felt like a hostage since I was simply not allowed to say "no thank you. I don't want the service" . I had to say I am too upsets to get my hair done now can I please just go I don't want to be here anymore . I felt like I was about to breakdown crying because of the whole situation, and of course they did not let me walk out the door without paying $55 which according to them it would be used on my next hair appointment. Which in fact. I WOULD NEVER SET FOOT IN THAT SALON! They are by far the worst place I have ever been to , and the worse I have been treated . I bought a groupon for a haircut, style, and Moroccan oil treatment. I was able to make a same-day appointment, which was great. I'm always a little anxious going to salons that offer Groupons, but Rae was FANTASTIC. Her personality is upbeat, friendly, and welcoming. I honestly felt like a good friend was doing my hair. She was very up front about extras she could do, what the cost would be, etc. She also checked in with me regularly, to make sure I was satisfied, and she was very patient when I was unsure of what I actually wanted. Not to mention, my hair looks amazing! Rae recommended products to me when I asked for them, and was also understanding and not pushy at all when I said I couldn't spend that much on that particular day.
