First time at this salon and booked online (Wash/Blow/Curl) for a charity event. The stylist washed my hair several times then said she would condition it next time! WHAT???...skipping steps to squeeze in more clients? Didn't even put a cape on me, just a hand towel and was wet after the shampoo. Got at her station, asked what I wanted...Volume and curls. She partially blew my hair dry then used a barrel brush to pull and twist my damp hair into curls. It was the most PAINFUL curl I have ever had! Had surgery 2 days prior, was tired and not feeling well so sucked it up. Was asked to pay Zelle or Venmo and told her I don't have those. Website says CC are accepted. Paid and tipped her well out of habit. Rushed home which was 10 minutes away to get ready for our event. Walked in my dressing area and looked at my hair (photos). The curls had completely fallen out, hair separated, one side had was flat...plus it looked dull and lifeless since she had stripped the oils from my hair and not conditioned it. I called the salon and asked to speak to manager. Cassy the receptionist put me on hold and instead puts the hairdresser on the phone! Asked for managers name and told he was not there. Didn't have time to do anything with my hair and since she had applied hair spray I knew not to use a heating tool. Gently brushed my hair out and added Argan Oil. Was very embarrassed attending our formal charity fundraiser. I expect a refund or I'll let my CC handle this. read more

OMG, I showed him the exact same pics that I showed sweet Liz & ended up with that - prior to the miracle 'color correction' by Liz just 3 weeks later. I just had to get it fixed ASAP & Liz to the rescue. I've never had my hair look SO bad & NOW it's back to incredible...thx to YOU Liz! This was my 1st time here & will never be the last. I wasn't going to say anything, but I need to warn others. I decided one day to treat myself to a nice haircut. I can only afford to do this once a year. So, I decided to give Salon Plum in Ladera Ranch a try since is close to my home. I made an appointment and after checking their prices I picked the $65.00 haircut. I figure, for that price I am going to get a really nice haircut. The day came for my haircut. I was so excited and thought for a moment how when I got home my husband won't be able to recognize me (more beautiful) due to the expensive haircut I received (which he paid for). I was greeted by Madi who sat me at the chair for a consultation before going to wash my hair. I told her what I wanted. After she washed my hair, she combed it and proceeded to trim a few ends. Then, she dried my hair and trimmed a couple more ends. That's it! Maybe 10 minutes working on my hair. I was so disappointed with the end result. The lady at Supercuts spends more time with my hair than Madi did. Easy $65.00 for her. Needless to say, I went home very disappointed and sad that I had thrown away $65.00 of my husband's hard-earned money and I still looked the same. Beware! read more

I've been going to this salon for a year. I made an appointment a few weeks back, and coming up to it the stylist texted me to reschedule. I agreed on a new date and time to accommodate her schedule. She then texted several days later to reschedule once again, because she double-booked the new time she gave me and forgot to put me into the system. I agreed to her later date and time again to accommodate her schedule. The day of, I came for my appointment, and she was late. After waiting around for her to arrive I left. I adjusted my schedule twice to accommodate her, and she didn't even show up. Everyone is human and makes mistakes, but this was like a parade of errors and poor customer service. I wouldn't trust a salon that doesn't ask their stylists to show up on time, especially in Covid time to ensure they and their station are ready to work with customers. read more

I made appointment with Madison and was my first time to met her. I requested to my roots be blonde and show her the picture what I want. I had some orangish in my roots and she said would be great if she do my roots covering with dark color and I said yes because I trust her knowledge. When it's finished my root was completely dark and black even you can buy any black color and do buy yourself , no need to go with hair stylist. The day after I checked my color in the natural light my roots was super dark which I didn't like it and I shocked why she did this too much dark and I pointed I like to be dark brown or chocolate darker Or something like this... and also she covered all my previous blonds with dark color too , she ruined all my hair and now I called my previous hair stylist and I have to pay again to fix my hair. Madison refused to pay back and blocked my number when I texted her and requested refund. I didn't like the way she acted. I don't recommend her. Be aware if you're first time and you want to make appointment with her, she is not the person you choose for all your hair services. read more

I do not write reviews often but Connie Khani really did a spectacular job with my hair! She fixed my terrible haircut from SuperCuts with her fantastic blending and layering. She was so careful and detail-oriented in selecting a complimentary color for my highlights/balayage and applying it evenly and well throughout my hair. This was probably the best hair service I have ever received. I was constantly checked on and served refreshments. Connie was friendly, and I was even offered a discount after she found out I was a college student. Best service, I will be returning. read more

I have been to Salon Plum 3 times now and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT! Luxury experience #1: Haircut and style by Tiffany IG @beautybytiff. I needed a last minute appointment when my work schedule gave me a day's notice window. Tiffany was able to get me in, and it was the luckiest dice roll of the year! I brought in a couple of example photos of the style I wanted and she NAILED IT! I loved my hair! I will have to see if I can find any of those embarrassing in-the-car immediately post-haircut photos. (Let's be honest, we all do it when we're feelin' hott as Beyonce!) Oh, and when you arrive and check-in, their complimentary chai latte is BOMB! So tasty! Don't deny yourself the pleasure of a yummy coffee or tea from the cutest of mugs. You deserve it! As for the friendliness of the lovely beautician...Tiffany is so friendly and sweet and an all-around wonderful person. I cherish my conversations with her. Luxury experience #2: Wedding Day Hairdo by Melissa. So... Tiffany doesn't do event up-do's, but she referred me to Melissa in the same salon. I brought in 2 photos that I wanted combined into one and Melissa NAILED IT! I definitely have photos from that day and will post shortly. My hair appointment was 100% stress free, Melissa was SO friendly, and she got my crazy unruly hair to stay in place and BEAUTIFUL for the whole day. I told her I didn't think it could be done, but she went and did it! (My hair loses the Shirley Temple-est curls in about 2 hours flat. She somehow managed to have the cascading curls and updo stay perfect through a hot August day in humid OC.) I will absolutely return to Melissa for any hair styling event needs. Wow! Wow! Wow! Luxury experience #3 (of many more to come): I actually scheduled a haircut with Tiffany...in advance. I did my typical "bring in 2 totally different photos and ask the beautician to be a magician and marry the styles." Tiffany recommended the best compromise for my face shape and styling habits, and I totally dig the lob (long bob) I ended up with. I was scared my husband wouldn't like that I took off like 6-7 inches, but he totally digs my hair style and regularly says what a good job my stylist did; my hair looks so good and healthy.
