Regardless of personal beliefs or current events, wearing anything political as a wedding vendor is very unprofessional, especially when there is a chance of you being in bridal suite photos. Thankfully, my mom and maid of honor asked her to remove it before we headed to the venue because i didn't want my guests to misinterpret her hat, but the situation stressed me out on what was supposed to be a peaceful and relaxing morning . And the hat appeared in my wedding photos/video and I had to ask my videographer and photographer to make edits. She also ran about 30 minutes late to my trial and arrived 40 minutes late on my wedding day past my requested start time. I anticipated that she might be late based on reviews and prior experience and adjusted my timeline accordingly, but that is not something a bride should ever have to plan for, especially at this premium price point. Lastly, she left right as my reception began, despite me paying for touch-ups throughout the wedding. At the time I was fine with it, but by the time I cut my cake and after dancing, my bangs looked sweaty and no longer appeared polished. I am not sure if this is typical, but I wanted to share my experience.

After my longtime stylist of 10+ years--who I'd been going to since high school--moved away, I went on a mission trying different salons, thinking my usual "nothing crazy" dimensional color would be easy to replicate. (You know--highlights with color in between... basically a full weave, just without the early-2000s flashbacks.) Turns out, not so standard. I learned that the hard way after dealing with overprocessed, brassy, uneven color--and even driving all the way from Irvine to San Clemente trying to fix it. A friend recommended Salon Pompeii, and since it was close to home (I'm in Laguna Hills), I gave it a shot. That was over five years ago, and I haven't looked back. I've been to both locations, and the experience is consistent every time. I know what I'm getting walking in, and I always leave happy with my hair. They really listen, and the color always comes out blended, natural, and exactly how I pictured it. The atmosphere is easygoing and comfortable, and the team clearly works well together. You also can't help but notice the work they're doing on other clients--every visit I see someone walking out with beautiful lived-in color, seamless balayage, or that soft, expensive-looking blonde. The newer location by Lake Mission Viejo is beautiful, but both spots feel just as welcoming and well-run. It's one of the few places where I don't feel the need to keep searching--and after what I went through before, that says everything. read more

Make sure you ask for Tayde Almazan 949-770-7200. She is the reason I go to this salon. She is the best stylist I have ever been to. She is fantastic with cuts and color, she works hard to fit you into her schedule, she has an outgoing friendly attitude, and the salon is clean and comfortable. Tayde spent 7 hours on my hair recently helping me go from red to blonde and I am very happy with the results and her full effort to make sure sure her clients are happy. Over the years I have gone to several different hairdressers, but always found myself returning to Salon Pompei. Olesya does an excellent job. I love how she cuts and styles my hair, and her work ethic is unmatched. After the salon's renovation, the space looks even better and more inviting. As a regular customer, I was given a tour of the newly renovated salon. What stood out the most is that Olyessa thinks and cares about her employees. However, the newest proprietor (Oleysa) has done a fabulous job updating the salon to be very modern, light, bright and comfortable. I highly recommend to any of your reading us to come in.
