I called to make an appointment and was told Sunni was away for a long period of time but another stylist could take care of me. She did the exact same thing that Sunni did but charged me $90. $90 for dry cut in Oakwood? I was floored. No one mentioned prior that there was a price change or a new owner so I was caught totally off guard and had to whip out a credit card to pay. A lot of excuses were given but no offer to reduce the fee. Ive called and asked for the owner to call me but I doubt I will hear back because the whole conversation with the receptionist sounded very sketchy. I may have to dispute the charge to get anywhere with it. Be aware and beware of going here especially without asking a whole lot of questions. If I hear back Ill post an update. This is not a good way for new owners to start out. They will definitely lose my business and WILL NOT recommend them to anyone else.

Super friendly hairstylist and Sunny is the best! Always gave me quality washes, cuts, and styles. However, today when I got charged more than usual, I asked why to make sure I wasn't being overcharged. They realized I was accidentally charged for a haircut too which I didn't get and thought it was going to go back down to my normal price but it didn't so I was confused. As the website said a different price than what was showing. When they explained it's because they just increased the price, I understood as I knew they got new hairstylists. Then I started to Venmo my regular hairstylist and out of the blew the owner said I could go outside and do that. Then she started yelling in my face and told me to get out of her store or she was calling the cops. Shocked, I started walking out as I was deeply concerned as she sounded like she lost her mind and the other customers waiting were shocked as well. From outside the door, I asked if I could still leave my hairstylist a tip as I didn't know what to do or react. The owner came out and called me CHEAP and told me if I didn't like to new price, don't come back eventhough I already paid and understood at this point. I was silent. Then she said to never come back. I was humiliated and sad as I love this salon and being a loyal customer, I can't come back all because I didn't want to be overcharged. I felt verbally attacked and I will stay clear of this owner.

She started right on time within the 10-15min window of my appointment which is phenomenal considering how most salons stack their clients and make you wait excessively so I very much appreciate her respect for our scheduled time! The shop is super cute, clean and professional. Very mature and chill vibes here with a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The lemongrass diffuser is an added bonus. This is a salon for the grown and sexy lol. But seriously though, Stephanie was gentle and patient with me as a first timer in her chair and I'm grateful. When I looked at my hair for the first time for the big reveal after she was I done I was literally shocked at how good it looked! It didn't even look like my hair! I highly recommend her if you are looking for a new stylist as I can not say enough good things about her and how she handled me and my hair from start to finish. It's so sad because the location was perfect, and I like the Braider. However, nobody has money to give away.. and the style came out nothing like pictures - it didn't have to be exactly like the pic sent to her - but the fact it was messy all over - including edges and ends - especially since my beginning experience was great and after 4 visits the service shift.
