This place is wonderfully cozy and comfy. Such a nice drive from LA, but then you get here and it's the most cozy, wonderful place I've been to in a long time. So happy we came. A coffee shop in the middle of the Santa Monica Mountains? Sounds awesome! Not really in the middle of the wilds, but part of the CALAMIGOS RANCH compound? Even better! Better because it was easy to find, there were plenty of free and available parking and we didn't have to worry about the rain too much when we were here. There was no line to get inside. There was only one person in front of us ordering. The shop was not even half full. The space is cozy, clean, beautiful, warm and comfortable. What could be cozier than plush pillows and a fireplace while you're drinking your coffee on a cold rainy morning? Nothing! Except maybe if I had a book with me. NOW PRIVATE: do not waste your time heading here. My husband & I come here at least once a month to grab matcha and coffee after driving in the canyons. We loved it, beautiful setting & always warm staff within the coffee shop. We go last weekend (after going quite out of the way) to find a few road blocks near the parking lot. No signs stating anything. Odd. I get out of the car & a guy asks me where I'm headed (states he works there) and I tell him "just to grab coffee at saloon", he says he doesn't know why things are blocked off and to just park on the side and walk up. I do, and once inside the barista asks for my room number or if I'm with the production party. I tell her no, I'm just paying cash. She proceeds to tell me "I can't be here" and they are "private only" now. It was just so distasteful and ridiculous. MIND YOU- they still have not updated their website or google to reflect this information. So shi**y. I have a feeling the cyclists (that descend on this place like 15 deep) ruined this for everyone. They probably weren't able to serve hotel guests in a timely manner. Anyways, this is a very unprofessional way of changing policy. I have heard from countless people that the people who own calamigos ranch are arrogant and rude so this isn't surprising. Horrible. read more

I dropped by here during my visit at Calamigos and it's such a cute spot! I loved how everything was vegan and it was so delicious. I would recommend my order, vanilla iced latte and croissant! I felt bad because there was only one barista and the shop was packed but she was super friendly and we were all patient with her. What a wonderful hidden gem in the middle of Calamigos Ranch. We love the campfire latte and affogato. They have a terrific selection of treats and even some premade food and drink items in a refrigerated section. The bonus is that everything is vegan and most of it is gluten free as well. There's a couple a places to sit inside but most of the seating outside. With plenty of trees and water features in the area, it's hard to beat the ambiance outside. Add a very friendly and helpful staff and you have an amazing spot that will bring us back often. read more

FOOD: For drinks: Iced Oatmilk Matcha Latte & Iced Chai. The matcha was pretty good. Although, it tasted different the two times I got it. I love a deep matcha flavor so the second time was a bit too watery for me. The chai was not as spiced or strong as we like. For food: I tried the Blueberry Muffin and croissant. Both were good, I would recommend the blueberry muffin, it was really soft and delightful. AMBIANCE: Such a cute vibe and ambiance. Love the wood exterior and how warm it feels. NO LONGER OPEN TO THE PUBLIC My wife and I are local and often stop here to grab coffee on the weekends. We attempted to place our regular order and were sternly told we needed to leave and the coffee shop was now private. It's 100% fine if you wish to change your policy and only serve guests of the hotel but there is a much better way to handle it. Treating people who have been coming to your coffee shop regularly this in such a rude manner is truly unacceptable. They also still list themselves as open on various sites such as google and yelp which absolutely should change as to not confuse future customers. read more

Beautiful surroundings on Calamigos Ranch and cute cafe, but disappointing that it's all-Vegan. Apparently they chose this to "be more inclusive" (the barista's own words); however you'd think it would be more inclusive to have all options including milk...The vegan pastries looked terrible too. When we visited, the water wasn't working so we couldn't get fresh coffee, so this review is more for the first impression than the quality. Will revise after visiting again. read more

It's only 10 minutes from Kanan/Agoura Rd. intersection, and it's worth the trip into the Santa Monica Mountains. What an awful experience. My friend and I had just finished a hike in Malibu and looked for the nearest cafe in the vicinity. We were initially looking for Malibu Cafe and were directed to Saloon Coffee by the valet at Calamigos Ranch. We were a bit lost and wondered through the grounds and found the coffee shop. Upon arrival, the barista informed us that coffee shop was on private grounds and we shouldn't be there. We agreed to leave but after reading other reviews it seems that others were served coffee and permitted to walk the grounds. Racism prevails at this coffee shop. read more

Wonderful coffee. Friendly service. And an amazing ambiance! We stopped here on our way to the coast and did not regret it. We were surprised when they said they were all plant based (no regular milk) but the oat milk cappuccino was delightful. My husband got a signature drink called the Campfire, a latte with vanilla, a little marshmallow cream, topped with graham crackers and yum!! I enjoyed stealing sips of that from him.
