Small ? Pizza with onions and green peppers amazing value
    Paul V.

It's located in a small plaza and ended up at this location via Yelp, we were stuck in traffic jam on I- 84 near Danbury CT going west-created by minor accident. It was six pm and were really hungry. So easier way after next exit was pizza place next to Subway so we took detour of 20 minutes to get to this location using Yelp directions. It's owned by Sal who welcomed us and were seated. I needed to have a glass of Cabernet to calm down which helped us ordered crispy pizza with onions and green peppers as well as Eggplant Parmigiana grinder. They searched us complimentary loaf of warm bread with butter while waiting for the dinner to arrive. Being cooked fresh required time but it was worth the wait. See photos to capture seating area and ordered food.. Family operated business has great service.

Sal's remains one of my favorite pizza places I have been going here for at least 20 years. I love the menu and the atmosphere.

chicken marsala spilled all over car seat, luckily it pops out easily.

Pizza and chicken marsala was super okay, which honestly might be a compliment. Waitress was incredibly friendly, it was busy and she took time with us, albeit we never were given refills on our waters. Silverware was dirty, both forks! I also noticed someone pouring water in the made coffee sitting in the pot, but not sure if that was coffee to be served or just for the kitchen staff. Pizza dough was rubbery, sauce tangy but not so much in a good way, cheese wasn't anything to write home about. If I was local to them I'd absolutely give them another try, I have a feeling they could be a decent go to spot, but I probably wouldn't make it back there as I'm not local to them.

We regular sals. At least 1-2x per month, usually for pizza Friday (get there early as there is usually a line for dine in and Togo). The staff is always friendly and accommodating. I like that they have the old school placemats which the kids (and I) love to color on! They have delicious fresh bread and butter to start. I believe it is only beer and wine but we have never asked for anything nor is it advertised anywhere. They always have specials posted on the chalk board as you walk in. We have never ever had a bad meal, EVER. The pizza is delicious. We usually go for the sals special or a sausage and Gorgonzola pie. The kids always get the chicken tenders and French fries and fries mozz. One of my favorite things to order is pictured. I get the chicken picatta grilled with spinach instead of pasta. Another fun reason why the kids love it here is that they have quarter machines and a crane game (bring your quarters!)

Best local pizza around. Always jammed packed but quick. Their pizza is all that you could want and they are not stingy with their toppings.

There's free valet here but I'd bring cash to tip the valet personnel. It was a nice touch…read moreconsidering their parking lot is small and full. The interior of this place is incredibly beautiful and so inviting. I sat at the bar and saw many items on the menu that looked so good. I was in the mood for seafood and really wanted their zuppa di pesce but didn't want a whole portion because I know I wouldn't be able to finish it. The bartender told me that I could order a half order which was incredibly exciting. I checked out the rest of the venue and the outdoor area in the back which was kind of magical. I tried a few mocktails, they were good, the coconut one was best. The dish I ordered was delicious, as well as the bread served with olive oil that had roasted garlic in it. I loved everything about this experience. I learned that they have an all you can eat buffet every Sunday for only 40 dollar. Can't wait to try it. Thank you Osteria!

The ambiance is still very nice. We went on a Monday evening so it wasn't very loud, but I can see…read morehow it could get so because we had a table of very loud women next to us. Can't imagine if we multiplied that by any additional tables. I just want to bring up the bread. Such a wasted opportunity to serve something so inexpensive that has such an impact on the overall experience. The bread is bafflingly bad. It's dry, and hard and tastes like nothing. The garlic infused oil that should improve the old stale bread is served with the hard skin still on the garlic. That's not edible and it's also not easy to remove once it's all mixed together. A small complaint about the lasagna. It's mostly cheese and very difficult to find any pasta among the soupy cheese and tomatoes. The taste is good but it's a bit of a rip off to serve something like lasagna with one or maybe two layers. The chicken parm was still delicious as was the polenta appetizer. Service was friendly and prompt. If they could just fix the bread and garlic situation and maybe bulk up the lasagna with some noodles, we'd be back.
