Parmigiana everything!! Why yes I will order an eggplant parmesan!! We dropped in here on the way home from Metro North. I wish I'd seen the specials menu before ordering as I spotted the shrimp parmigiana on our way out the door with our takeout order! My friends got the meatball Parm, a pizza with pepperoni and pineapple, and fries as a side. Two adults and two kiddos sat quietly as we all enjoyed our delicious Italian food. My friends deem this the best Italian takeout around and I can see why! I would definitely like to try more items here in the future! read more

I'm a former Monroe native, and have been away from home for years now. I used to eat at Lia's all the time in high school, so when I just came home to visit, I had to stop in. Everything is exactly how I remembered it, and that makes me happy :) As for the reviews that call out the staff for being rude, I can't say that has ever been my experience. They were very friendly to me just now. Update: I came back the next day with my mom. She was apprehensive, because she had heard around town that the quality had gone down hill. She got a slice of pizza and was very pleasantly surprised, and said she would be ordering from here again in the future. read more

We have been coming to Lia's since 1985 when they were a sit down restaurant located in Trumbull center. We were broken hearted when they closed however when we found them in Monroe 21 yrs ago we were ecstatic! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! The food is superb, my husband gets ravioli with a vodka sauce, I love the eggplant parmigiana. The spaghetti with meat sauce is excellent, the hand made garlic knots are scrumptious. In over 30 years, we have not found an Italian restaurant that comes close to Lia's quality (even in NYC). The prices are reasonable for such fantastic food. Highly recommend read more

Honestly the pizza seems decent but the staff is extremely unfriendly. I stopped in for a few slices and it seemed like me giving them my money and placing an order was an inconvenience. I've never been somewhere to order food and received not one smile. I won't go back just due to bad vibes and a dirty dining room. read more

I never write reviews but my experience tonight at Lia's was so bad I had to write one. Been here before and ate in the dining room. Everything was delicious. That was three months ago. I have no idea what happened since then. I open the pizza box at home after picking up at Lia's and it is covered in onions despite the fact that I never once mentioned onions when ordering. I called Lia's back and talked to the chef Dante. Hands down the most rude, inappropriate conversation I have ever had with a business owner. I am in sales and have years of customer service experience. This guy is a total fool who should never be allowed to talk to customers or run a business for that matter. All I asked was for some money off a future order and he puts on a fake accent, yelling at me over and over not letting me get a word in then hangs up on me. The pizza was aweful, way worse than a few months ago. Never going back and that sucks because its hard to find NY style pizza in CT. If I could give zero stars I would. Love this pizza. Crust is crisp with a bit of fluff to give it substance, flavor and support for all the toppings you want. Not a greasy pizza, and ingredients taste fresh. Still my favorite pizza thus far even after experiencing pizza from Italy to Buffalo, NY. read more

This place is the best pizza spot in the area. I cannot begin to express how great the food is. You have to stop here for a bite if you are nearby. Seating is limited though, so be prepared to eat elsewhere on a busy lunch day. Personal favorites: Any of the sandwiches/hoagies and the Chef's Salad are must-orders. read more
