I often swing by here for a couple of slices and a Coke. Very consistent, well priced, and never has disappointed.

I wanted to leave a RECENT review for American Pie, although we have consistently been ordering from them for decades. American Pie is reliable and offers a large menu with very good pizza. Is it New Haven pizza? No. Is it the best pizza in the area? Probably not. But it is very good and we have NEVER had bad service in over 20 years. It is simply our "go to" and we have never been disappointed. They deliver to Trumbull and that has been a huge plus for us also. read more

Just ordered take out and it came super fast which was amazing . Ordered spaghetti and meatballs, Greek salad with grilled chicken and grilled chicken with Alfredo sauce. Each meal came with tasty little garlic knots, small salad and dressing. The Greek salad was yum and it actually came with grape leaves and amazing quality olives. The spaghetti and meatballs was ok my son enjoyed but the meatballs were definitely frozen. The portions were very generous and we will definitely be back. It is Ok. Not bad but not the best. The problem is this area is saturated with pizza places. You could litterally go out every week for pizza and never go to the same place. American Pie is affordable and offers decent pizza. They also have the distinction of having the coolest name of all the pizza places around. Not the best pizza nor the worst. read more

The place is a scam! I ordered, from THEIR menu, an item listed for $9.99. When I got there, 20 minutes later, the price had gone up to over $12.00. "That was an old menu," I was told. When I asked for a new menu, it had the same $9.99 price as the "old" menu. Total rip off. For a lousy $3.00 these idiots lost a sale, lost a customer, and, earned a one-star review. I was physically unable to drive last night so I dialed up American Pie for the first time. Looking back, I should have manned up, tested the limits and drove some place good. American Pie falls into the, "lame generic pie," category. It's almost a clone of the awful Giovi's brand pizza in Trumbull; You get that cheap, rubbery soft crust. For the value I would admit DiGiorno is a more suitable option. From now on I will think of American Pie like the movie, 'American Pie'. A great laugh. read more

Not very good service Placed an order online for a tomato basil pizza. Specifically states tomato, basil and mozzarella but received a pizza loaded with garlic. Called to discuss and was simply dismissed and told "they'll have to fix the description online". The situation could have been handled better. Won't be ordering from American Pie anymore. read more

The pizza here is really great. Their mozzarella sticks are my favorite and they're always filled with cheese, never dry and crusty like a lot of other mozzarella sticks are. The wings are a fan favorite and even though I don't eat meat, everyone says they're the best of any pizza places around. The food that they make has been consistently good since it opened and I suggest you try it out. read more

We ordered tonight for the first time based on our babysitter's recommendation and I have to say they did not disappoint. The pizza was thin crust, fresh ingredients on top and the buffalo wings were perfectly crispy (sauce came on the side which was fine with us). Very reasonably priced, generic pizza. Their pick up deals are great, and the regular prices aren't bad. For a while, it was one of the few places in Stepney that delivers. The pizza is pretty good (but not the best) The BBQ chicken pizza is tastey (but doesn't come with onions on it, so if you are used to onions on your BBQ chicken, you have to ask) Also, if your order is over $15, you get a free garlic bites or free 2 liter soda! :) read more

I've lived in Monroe for 8+ years and used to order from American Pie all the time, mainly because they were the only delivery place nearby. Pizza was "meh"...ok, nothing great. Typical conveyer belt pizza as mentioned by another reviewer. The defining moment came when I decided to order something "different"...a tomato pie, no cheese. It's on their menu. What I got was a dried out crust with nasty tomato scabs on it, the remnants of what had at one time been tomato slices. No oil. A sprinkle of oregano and that's it. I took one bite and threw the damn thing in the garbage. It's beyond me how ANYONE with the slightest bit of common sense/restaurant experience would think that a customer would want to eat this piece of sh*t. It was nasty. Since then, a number of better pizza places with delivery service have opened up, namely Paisanos and Tuscany, so I don't have to subject myself to AP's pizza. I gave them two stars because if you order a mainstream pizza, i.e. pepperoni pie, it will be ok...just ok, nothing special. read more

The people here are no help at answering questions about their food also the food is very very subpar, like a McDonald's of pizza so for cheap delivery of anything frozen thrown in a box order here, not bad if you have low funds and an empty stomach but otherwise I would consider not ordering American pie. read more

The pizza is very tasty but incredibly greasy! The grease drips all over yourself as you're trying to eat. It's only best to get take out from here. There is a long table to sit at and eat but it's not very comfortable. I felt like I was eating inside of their kitchen. read more

The order took an hour to arrive. Pizza was ok, nothing special. Do not order a garden salad!!! I ordered the grilled chicken salad, which states that it is the garden salad with grilled chicken. Way overpriced! The menu says that there should be cucumbers and carrots in the salad, both of which were not there at all. This $10 salad was iceberg, a few peppers, black olives a few tomato wedges chicken and that is it. Disappointed! read more

I really enjoy all the food at American Pie! They have all the traditional Italian options, as well as burgers and grinders. The pizza is really good by the standards set by other local places, and the other food is really great too! They're buffalo chicken grinder is flippin AWESOME! The folks are always nice on the phone when I order and when they deliver the food, and they haven't screwed up an order yet, and I have been ordering from them a couple times a month for about 7 months. The only reason they didn't get 5 stars is the price. I think $2.25 each for standard toppings on a 16" pizza that costs $10.99 to start is a little high. I mean that's literally 1/4 of the price of the pie for just pepperoni or onions (btw anyone who grocery shops knows that the amount of onion used to top a pizza is worth like $.50. lol). read more

The pizza honestly tastes like a giant piece of softened cardboard with melted cheese and canned tomato sauce on top. It's the dough they use. Just very bland and tasteless. You wonder why I go out of my way to write such a review? The pizza took over an hour to get there and then they forgot the coke. Still charged me for it and when I called the owner he denied the whole thing and pocketed my money. Why I ordered from here is beyond me at this point. Sal's is right down the street! Love this place!!!! When you place an order for delivery and they say 30 min it arrives in 30 min super hot!!! Everything is good from Pizza to salads!!! Hate to admit this but we order from them at least once a week... The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because there is ONE delivery guy who apparently lost my receipt which had his tip added in and the next time we ordered he told us in hopes we would double his tip on that visit, his boss would not let him charge my card without a receipt! I have to say - American Pie's pizza is always great-tasting and they ALWAYS make my pizza exactly how I like it. (I always ask for olives and extra cheese on single slices) The guys that work here are nice, accommodating and professional. As much as I'd like to give them 5 stars based on just the pizza alone, a recent experience unfortunately changes that. There were two younger girls working the front counter the last time I went in. As a FOH restaurant manager, I get it. The young, local girls in high school that want/need a part time job are prime candidates for places like this and I'm not against that whatosever. BUT what I am against is a) their attire and b) their conversation between the two of them that was not even remotely attempted to be hushed for customers. First off, working in a food service establishment (whether you're handling the food or not!) short-shorts (you know the kind that teen girls wear, where the pockets are longer than the actual shorts themselves) and crop tops are not what you'd classify as appropriate for this kind of atmosphere. They both were playing with their hair and then touching money also. Again, I know that they're not necessarily touching the food - but it's still not appropriate given the atmosphere. As for the conversation; If they want to talk about what cute guys they like at school and what they did last weekend and what they drank and OMG what this girl did - by all means do it when there's no customers five feet away from you. But you might want to think about watching what you say in front of customers. Again, just not professional in this atmosphere. This didn't bother me as much as what they were wearing - not that they looked BAD, but it's not suitable for the food-service industry. read more

The pizza is not bad and served hot from delivery which is rare. HOWEVER, never plan on eating in the location. Tried that once and will never go back. They ignore you, might actually put your order in eventually when they have time and may even let you know when your pizza has been finished and is sitting around waiting. DO NOT EAT THERE. American Pie is a very good pizza place. My favorite items there are the mozzarella sticks and the chicken tenders, the best I've ever had. The people there are very nice and friendly.
