If you are ever traveling thru Murfreesboro, NEVER eat here! The food is below average, the service is sub-par! During "happy hour" we ordered the happy hour special. The waitress sad the had run out of the draft, but they had the bottles. We ask 3 times about the price of the bottles and if we would get it at the same price. For happy hour. . . Each time we were told yes. When we received our bill we had been charged $2 more for each serving. We talked to the manager and he said he would ask the waitress. He came back to us and told our company that we had lied. That he believed his employee and the he wouldn't take the overcharge off the bill. Ordered delivery at 4pm and said the time for delivery was 5:11. Called at 5:30 and was told my order was 5 minutes out and at 6pm the order was still not delivered. Called back and once again was told my order would be here in just a few minutes. Ridiculous that it takes 2 hours to get a delivery. I only ordered online due to being ill. This is our favorite go to Italian in Murfreesboro! My husband loves the Stromboli and I usually get pizza or spaghetti. They have amazing meatballs and the Sicilian pizza is delish! Very flavorful sauce! We had carry out and ordered the New York style pizza, which was very tasty. The crust is nice and thin and crispy on the outside. I wish I'd ordered it extra crispy because by the time I got it home I had to put it back in the oven to crisp and heat it back up. We also ordered an Eggplant Parmesan dinner which was also very good. The sauce it was topped with was a little sweet and was a nice thick tomato paste consistency. Decided to try this place after seeing it in a location I frequent a lot. I love a good lasagna so considering Italian type place; I was excited. Horrible lasagna. Sam's Club has better frozen food. Highly disappointing and they charged me regular price when it was on the board for lunch special. I saw the price as I was leaving. Poor service and awful cook during my visit. We've had pizza delivered twice and it's so good! Yes, it's expensive but it's worth it! So much better than other cheaper delivery options. Been to Sals a few times tried the pizza, calzones and Italian subs. They are all decent. Wanted to try a few different things to be fair. Last thing I had was an eggplant parmigiana sandwich. Calzones are huge. I maybe partial because I am born and raised in NJ. I must say nothing really knocked my socks off. Their sauce just doesn't do it for me. There really is no other decent pizzeria in Murfreesboro that I have been too. You have pizza chains and then Sals which I don't believe is a chain. I had a to go order. I ordered 2 X-large pizzas, 1 Large and cheese bread. I got there at 3:40 and they told me it would be 5 more minutes. They packaged plates, napkins, and pepper/parmesan packs. They were great and friendly. I took it to an event we had going on in class and the pizza was a hit. The pizza was gone after the first round of people! I loved the pizza. Being from the Northeast I wanted to give this a shot so this is for the pizza only. I purchased a large olive pizza and a sausage pizza and I was very underwhelmed. Dough was not quite there very average no slight crunch and Soft in the inside this was just kind of doughy all around lacking flavor. A good indication of a quality cheese is when the oil runs off the cheese and this did not have any. The whole thing was very bland I would definitely not try the pizza at this location again unless there was a really good coupon it was just very average. Friend of mine said she likes Pizza Hut better but honestly she doesn't know what she's talking about she likes fast food. We order delivery from Sals about every 6 weeks. Usually it is piping hot and taste fresh. On occasion they will make a mistake. We have had the wrong size pizza sent out, left off an order of garlic rolls. They do make it right, so all is good. The garlic knots are sometimes a bit hard, but this may be due to being delivered. Maybe they send out a couple deliveries at once and takes longer to arrive? Overall, this is one of a two places to get good pizza in town. read more

I've only been during the lunch buffet ($12.00 includes a drink) Let me just say they have hands down some of the best marinated cucumber salad I have EVER had, They also offer a garden salad, garlic knots, 2 desserts 2/3 pasta dishes roughly 3 pizzas at a time on the bar along with Chicken wings (which are large & awesome) as an appetizer & fried mushrooms & calzones.. Worst lasagna I have ever had. First of all the presentation upon opening the lid was like they threw the lasagna in the pan and shook it up and then drowned it in sauce. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I had two bites and just couldn't eat anymore of the $13 dish due to the lack of flavor and the texture of the baby food. I placed an order for delivery. It took a little longer than planned. To be fair, their regular driver wasn't working so the manager brought my order. He was pleasant and professional. I didn't order pizza. Nothing against them. I just didn't want pizza. The salad was great. The spaghetti, meatballs and Italian sausage were delicious. I regret not ordering garlic bread but that's my decision. It would have added to the meal. Overall I was very pleased with the food and delivery. Will definitely be a returning customer. Sal's made all my hopes and dreams come true. They are rocking authentic NY style pizza and are only 15 minutes away. If I'm going to eat pizza, I like big, thin slices of cheese, and I'd previously found nowhere in Murfreesboro with pizza even close to that style or taste. For any fans of Joey's previously in Brentwood and now in Nashville, this is very similar. We've eaten there twice in a week and ordered cheese pizzas both times, so I can't comment on the rest of the menu, but the pizzas we've had were amazing and didn't last long. They have very friendly service and are reasonably priced. My husband would eat pizza every day if he could, so I know Sal's will become a regular part of our in-town repertoire. read more

Was very disappointed in this visit to what was once one of my favorites. Not sure if it was the time of day with the youngsters in there or want but definitely not going back later than lunch time. The wife and I ordered the ziti Florentine as we always do and it came to us luke warm, with thin sauce, the mushrooms were undercooked as was the spinach. It seemed as who ever put it together did so at last minute with left overs. The young guy who cashed us out asked how was everything I told him not good and he asked if I was kidding. Not what was wrong with the food or anything. It's obvious this group of people working in here must under go a complete retrain if they have been trained at all. Awesome food! We got the double crusted pizza and I love all the cheese on it!! My husband said it was but much for him but he is not the cheese lover. We also got wings, calamari and a cannoli. Everything tasted delicious, was hot, and tasted legit Italian. We will go back if ever back In the area. The quality of food is always good, but the level of service has gone down. The past several times we've ordered it's been significantly longer than the quoted time. We've had to call several times to ask if our food was even coming because it's over a half hour late, or wait half and hour in the store for pickup. Tonight, again it's currently an hour late. We placed our order at 5:50 with an estimate delivery of 7:03.We called about 7:20 and they said it was delivered, but it wasn't. They had my husband walk out to our driveway to make sure it wasn't out there. Then they said they call us back in a few minutes... 10 minutes later we had to call back and all they could tell us was that the driver delivered the food. Our neighbors across the street got a pizza delivery and now we're thinking they got our order (also, it's pretty crappy of them if they did keep our food). Then Sal's tried to insinuate that we weren't getting our order because "they close soon", well it wasn't our fault the driver clearly went to the wrong house. So as of 7:40, it's going to be another 30-40 minutes. We're just super annoyed because we're so hungry. Update: It didn't get here until 8:45 pm. The delivery driver stated he actually never received our order or delivered anything in our side of town (our neighbors are in the clear). Whoever was giving us grief on the phone is an a-hole for lying to us. We paid almost $45, including a $7 delivery. We'll NEVER order from this location again, which is a shame because we love their pizza. read more
