Was very disappointed in this visit to what was once one of my favorites. Not sure if it was the time of day with the youngsters in there or want but definitely not going back later than lunch time. The wife and I ordered the ziti Florentine as we always do and it came to us luke warm, with thin sauce, the mushrooms were undercooked as was the spinach. It seemed as who ever put it together did so at last minute with left overs. The young guy who cashed us out asked how was everything I told him not good and he asked if I was kidding. Not what was wrong with the food or anything. It's obvious this group of people working in here must under go a complete retrain if they have been trained at all. The best pizza I've had in a while. The lunch buffet had some great pizza choices and pasta dishes. That double meat/double crust pizza is awesome. The staff there is really nice. Forget that pizza buffet place that serves fake microwave pizza. Go to Sal's and eat some real pizza. I just left Sal's. Before going I said after this I would be getting off of bread for a while. The quality of food is always good, but the level of service has gone down. The past several times we've ordered it's been significantly longer than the quoted time. We've had to call several times to ask if our food was even coming because it's over a half hour late, or wait half and hour in the store for pickup. Tonight, again it's currently an hour late. We placed our order at 5:50 with an estimate delivery of 7:03.We called about 7:20 and they said it was delivered, but it wasn't. They had my husband walk out to our driveway to make sure it wasn't out there. Then they said they call us back in a few minutes... 10 minutes later we had to call back and all they could tell us was that the driver delivered the food. Our neighbors across the street got a pizza delivery and now we're thinking they got our order (also, it's pretty crappy of them if they did keep our food). Then Sal's tried to insinuate that we weren't getting our order because "they close soon", well it wasn't our fault the driver clearly went to the wrong house. So as of 7:40, it's going to be another 30-40 minutes. We're just super annoyed because we're so hungry. Update: It didn't get here until 8:45 pm. The delivery driver stated he actually never received our order or delivered anything in our side of town (our neighbors are in the clear). Whoever was giving us grief on the phone is an a-hole for lying to us. We paid almost $45, including a $7 delivery. We'll NEVER order from this location again, which is a shame because we love their pizza. read more

2.5 stars Only dined in once and wasn't impressed with the atmosphere or service so we normally get it delivered. It's our favorite pizza but lately the delivery service has fallen off. Awesome food! We got the double crusted pizza and I love all the cheese on it!! My husband said it was but much for him but he is not the cheese lover. We also got wings, calamari and a cannoli. Everything tasted delicious, was hot, and tasted legit Italian. We will go back if ever back In the area. We were traveling and staying g in a hotel, it was so nice they had plates, silverware and napkins available to take with us. Super kind people too! Leftovers were delicious too! read more

well so heres the story behind the rating, on july 6th(my sons birthday) my mother placed an order totaling 104.00 (on pickup i left a card tip and a cash tip) the order was for 3 large pies one with bacon and pepperoni one with just roasted garlic and one with onions and peppers also a sicillian 2 orders of garlic knots and an order of calamari (my son requested the calamari, 13 years old) so when i went to pick it up the lovely girl who helped me handed me the order and said the garlic rolls were combined into one tray when it appeared short ordered so upon getting home (20 minutes away) mind you 10 ppl for a birthday party for a teenager the order cosisited of no calamari it consiisted of a medium pizza with roasted garlic that was sapposed to be a large it consisted of a large pizza with onions peppers and pepperoni 9the pepperoni wasnt sapposed to be on the pizza because of allerigies it was ordered onions and jalpenos only) point being the whole order was messed up, so i called the girl said she would have her delivery guy deliver it, 2 hours went by i called back she said he just left here with the order, another few hours went by and nothing i was trying not to mkake a big dela of it all but at this point it was about principal not the extra 20.00 for the calamari and the extra topping that wasnt sapposed to be on the pie plus the smaller sized pie the next day i went in and spoke to the manager and explained everything to him, he proceeded to tell me i was wondering why there was an order of calamari on the counter this morning he asked me about wanting a refund well ummm yeah ya think maybe that would be proper, he then took my info and told me he would speak to the owner and call me later, well here it is over 24 hours since speaking with him in person and umm still no call from them so no i do not recommend this place i have not one good thing to say about them behind their costumer service they lost a good amount of potentional customers read more

Pretty good NY style pizza, especially in the pizza desert that is Murfreeesboro. But I went in recently for a take out order and no one, not a single one of the 6 or 7 employees behind the counter preparing and serving food, was wearing a mask. Our experience at Sal's has been decent. The pizza is always good. We usually get the Bianca. Depending on who is working, the service is hit or miss. If it's the owner behind the counter, our experience is awesome. There's a young girl that works there that could care less when you walk in. Wait time can be pretty long. We'll order take out and be told 45 minutes and it still won't be ready when we arrive. We've never tried the buffet. I hear it's good. Maybe someday I'll stop by for lunch and update my review. I have ordered from this restaurant several times and have never had an issue until now. I ordered 70 dollars worth of food to be delivered. Two hours later it arrived incomplete, I did not get my whole order. I tipped the driver then called the store and was told that the next time I ordered they would complete my order. Then I opened what part of the order I had and everything was cold, the Chicken Parmesan was so burnt that you could not cut it with a knife. I called the restaurant again and asked to speak with a manger. After about 15 minutes, David the manager got on the phone and told me that he could not redo my order or credit my card with the Chicken Parmesan because that would come out of his pocket. He continued to say that if my food was cold that I could easily heat it up at home. I then ask if he could just resend the chicken Parmesan and he advised me that it would be burnt again. I have never been treated the way this manger talked to me, and only wanted my complete order that I paid for and for it not to be burnt. Went in on a Friday night, very busy, heard they had great pizza. Took a long time finally getting my take out order. When I received it it was all there. 2 pizzas, house salad., desert sampler. Enjoyed everything. Food was fresh and very good. Best tasting food I've had from a local pizza shop, loved watching them make the pies, very efficient. We are new to town and were actually looking for a place that wasn't big chain that served desserts. Looking at the menu it looked like a good place to try for a date night snack. The place seats maybe 30-50 people max and it was pretty crowded when we went, which I think is a good sign. The delivery/carryout side was also non-stop busy the whole time. If you're looking for a traditional restaurant experience this is not it. Our server was very friendly and made us feel welcome. We decided to order the Appetizer Combo as our snack entree, which included Garlic knots, wings, and mozzarella sticks. The plate came with a side of ranch and a side of marinara. Everything on the plate was terrific and the sauces were excellent as well. I would definitely order again! After the appetizer combo we ordered the dessert sampler, and it was similarly fantastic. It came with one cannoli, one piece of cheesecake, and one piece of tiramisu. All three were awesome!! I believe the cannoli is made on-site and the others are purchased from another vendor. All three were great! So if you're on a date night looking for a local, semi-hole-in-the-wall feel, with some good, homemade snacks, this is the place. Beee. Ordering at Sal's and eating there for years. Today was a thoroughly disappointing experience. We placed an order at 5pm via the app. The expected delivery time was 5:45pm. At 6:30pm there was no sign of the pizza. We called, were immediately put on hold and after 20 minutes were hung up on. Proceeded to use the App's chat function which provided for a quick response. It was now about 7pm. We were told that Sal's didn't see the order and it would take another 45-60 minutes to complete it. No follow up word from Sal's and it took a solid hour even though we were told her pizza was made a priority. This seems barely like a priority delivery. And we had to pay full price after waiting a stellar 3 hours from the time we ordered until we received it. Disappointing at best. read more

This is one of those instances where I really tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. When we first started going to Sal's - the service was top notch. Now, it's almost like they don't even care. Example 1 - placed a delivery order - quoted at 45 minutes - took 2 hours. The pizza was cold and there was zero remorse for it. They just didn't care. When I called to check in - they assured me it was on the way. I figured, must have been a busy evening. Example 2 - second delivery order - quoted an hour - an hour passed I told them I'd come pick it up. When I arrived my order literally walked right by me. It had been sitting on the warmers. They called the delivery person back - gave me my pizza. Cold again. I asked for it to be heated up and they said it would take 20 minutes because the ovens were full. Example 3 - walked in for an order - it took 20 minutes for someone to walk from the back and start making pizzas. I was literally about to ask for a refund before the guy said it'd only take 10 minutes. No apology or anything. All while the lady taking my order kept apologizing. The people taking the orders openly blame it on the folks in the back and say there is nothing they can do. As I walked out the hostess told me to leave this review. It's really sad because it's the only place in town for this kind of pizza but this is truly not worth the effort anymore. Hope it gets better. read more

Food is decent ibut ts a bit overpriced.First time. I went it was over $20 for spaghetti & meatballs and they forgot the bread & salad.Next time tried baked ziti and when I got home found out they forgot the red sauce.Finally my last visit I ordered chicken alfredo. Instead of pasta they made a pizza with chicken alfredo on it.I don't care for their pizzas as they are kind of bland. I ordered wings for the first time tonight for a gamble. I was scared these would be the typical squishy skin wings you typically find at pizza delivery places. No breading on these wings. I am so glad to tell you this is not squishy skin wings! These are good wings, after eating a couple, they warm you up slightly, great taste, but not hot. I really like the ranch dressing provided. Not happy for same reason as the last time I ordered pizza here. Decided to order take out because it took so long the first time to dine in. I sat there 60 minutes and they are so disorganized that they had not even made my pizza while a new walk-in had his in the oven before me!!
