I met Ben here after his rained out round of golf at Fort Mill GC. He & the Fam typically order 'to go' or 'door dash' but we decided to check it out as a change-up. We got there about 645p on Wednesday and the parking lot was 'JAMMED'. The other notable stops in this small strip center are Lore Brewing and Master O's Martial Arts so I was kinda surprised. We were not aware they were doing their Wednesday Music Bingo night which started at 7p but it was fun and entertaining and paired well with our pizza and beverages. They do multiple rounds and start by awarding Empire gift cards for $10, then $20, then $25.00 and then the round that everyone waits around for. The MAIN attraction final round, the winner will win $250.00 CASH. You guess just the name of the song and fill ALL 50 squares. Ben had the Popeye pizza and I had the Chef Salad. We both agreed the food is good and reasonable priced. Good service for being as busy as it was. Every member of the Staff was hustling all evening. IF you go on Wednesday evening, be prepared, the parking LOT is packed. People were cruising the lot hoping to find a spot as someone was leaving. The closer you get to 7p, the harder it is to get a table. Life in the post COVID world feels like we're getting closer to fine.

The service was exceptional, with every detail thoughtfully attended to. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between upscale and relaxed, creating a welcoming dining experience. It feels like the kind of restaurant you'd expect to find in Uptown Charlotte rather than Lancaster. I'll definitely be returning!

We made a reservation because we weren't sure how crowded it would be on a Saturday night. Reservations weren't really necessary as the place was not busy. We weren't sure the dress code either, hard to gather from their website. We went business casual but we could have just done in our Saturday afternoon casual as it's not upscale but neighborhood comfortable. The decor is honestly pretty bland. Everything was just gray and there were no pops of color anywhere. The lighting was cool and the wine wall was nice but it just didn't have much character. We were greeted quickly by our server who was polite but not overly friendly. She gave us the drink specials and we got started with a few beers. A runner brought a basket of warm bread and butter which is always a nice start. We ordered the garlic bread and the zucchini fritti for appetizers. They came out quickly and presented nicely. The garlic cheese bread wasn't very garlicky, had more of a rosemary flavor so it wasn't our favorite. The zucchini was shaved and had a nice flavor. Because it was so small it was kind of hard to eat. I like my zucchini with some ranch and we asked for some and kind of got a weird reception from the kitchen staff. I mean we are in the south people - ranch is a staple! For entrees we tried a few different things. We had the white pizza, the chicken francese, the chicken crusted Romano, and the sliced beef rib cut. All the dishes came out warm and with nice presentation. The pizza was the most lackluster. It was just average and did not have much flavor. The crusted chicken Romano was a highlight with a nice flavor from the vodka sauce. The other two dishes tasted good but were nothing amazing. The mashed potatoes were the best side dish. The roasted potatoes were a bit on the burnt side and lacked any real seasoning. We had an overall pleasant experience but will not rush back to this spot. If you are in the neighborhood I'm sure it's convenient but if you want a great Italian meal this would not be my recommendation.

The Joeys stuffed chicken is so tasty, especially the side of risotto and sautéed vegetables. I love the meat lovers pizza, so tasty! The Eggplant rollatini is delectable, fully cooked and not bitter. Love the bolognese sauce in any entrees. Get the house vinaigrette with the included side salad. The young staff at the desk are delightful and attentive. My only ask from management is to please add gravel to the large pot holes at the entrance off 521.

And then Hwy 521 was not the busiest commercial artery that it has become. Risso's came in and was viewed skeptically. Few could imagine this tiny building generating much business, sitting in somewhat isolation along the road. But now! WOW! Come early for dinner and you still might be waiting for a seat. Lunch is your better bet. Excellent menu of basic Italian and Italian-American eats. We very much like their pizzas and salads. Over time, they have added to their wine list and put in a few more desserts. I treasure start-ups that become destinations. Rizzo's will probably never get a Micheline star, but in the surrounding area, it is still a star.
