Tried Sal's for the first time last night and it was fantastic. The ingredients all seemed really fresh and tasty (that pineappple! that jalepeno!). The crust for me was really the star. So freakin' good. It was weird because I don't normally notice this with pizza, but every bite I took, the moment that crust hit my tongue I was intensely aware of it's yumminess and then I would notice the second wave of flavors as all the toppings entered the mix. I don't know... it was just great. And the crust wasn't greasy at all on the bottom (unlike some places.... I'm looking at you StationCraft SC). I definitely will be going back for more. A note on the surroundings.... the Kaleidoscope is so dismal and dead. None of the elevators worked and the escalators were turned off (probably to save money since it is a ghost town here). Do not park in the spots next to the freeway! They are right above the trash for the complex and it was horrible.... the air had substance. Sal's has survived for years while being in quite possibly the worst outdoor mall / human mouse trap ever created - AKA the Mission Viejo Kaleidoscope. How? Because their pizza is fantastic. It is a nice thin slice of NY pizza that is crispy on the bottom - but the dough is still soft. The sauce is great and compliments the various slice options. I am bias to the Hawaiian and the pepperoni, but the ricotta and the Grandma are also fantastic. So - take the elevator / the often broken escalator / or climb the stairs of Machu Picchu on the outside and get yourself a nice NY Slice. read more

**April 8th, 2026 Update** I just wanted to say THANK YOU to Sal's Pizzeria and Local By Toast! After receiving an email from Sal's Pizzeria's Customer Service team letting me know they were really sorry that they had a system glitch that showed they were open for Easter instead of being closed, they offered to refund all of the orders placed that day and even offered $5 off our next Sal's Pizzeria order. I did end up getting refunded and I plan on coming back to Sal's to use my coupon again. I really appreciate their attention and compensation and for reaching out and refunding their customers. I placed an order for a Meat Sauce Spaghetti on Easter Sunday via the Local By Toast app. I visited the restaurant after church and they were closed! I called the restaurant 6 times and no answer. Knocked twice and no answer. I didn't get any notification from Local By Toast that they were closed. In fact, both the app and Apple Maps says that they are opened. Upon looking at the restaurant, there was no sign that they would be closed on Easter Sunday either, so I just feel misled and pretty distraught right now. I spoke with a really kind gentleman by the name of Andy who was in the Laser Tag next door. He mentioned he placed an order for pizza through Sal's Pizzeria and they took his money as well. It would have been really nice to know this before I placed my order and wasted my funds. I'm still trying to get a refund as we speak. Andy recommended I come back on another day as the employees are really nice people (Frank and others) but I don't think I would come back to this one after my experience. We love Sal's garlic knots until the last time we ordered there. The staffs are nice but the foods were a bit stale this time especially the garlic knots. We visited Sal's for the first time because it was on the Lake Forest BOGO gift card program. Well, that didn't work out well because the employees tried 2 of our cards and they said both were invalid! but I emailed Yiftee customer service and they said the cards were fine. So that was a bad start already. We ordered two slices of the mushroom & pepperoni and a Stromboli. The food took quite a little while to be ready, but they were a little busy. There are just a few tables inside and then some on the patio area. No beer or wine here, which I think would make the experience better. Pizza was just ok, nothing above average. Maybe we will try a different variety if we visit again. The stromboli was really good, packed with cheese and meats, my guy enjoyed this item. I really like Sal's Pizzeria because of their tomato sauce and fresh mozzarella they use. Ordering has been a breeze through their website or using DoorDash. The only item I have been disappointed by are the garlic knots. Everything else has been absolutely delicious. Parking can be a bit confusing at this location. You will have to find a spot and go up to the plaza level. Garage parking is free. They do offer curbside pickup and free delivery order with online codes. The garage also has a Tesla supercharger. I have placed an order to go pick up while having my vehicle charged. Something to keep in mind. Looking forward to returning again in the future at this location and perhaps trying out their pasta and Stromboli next. read more

Delicious quick pizza place in the kaleidoscope with pizza by the slice. Black and white cookies and garlic knots. The pizza is delicious though the options were limited unfortunately. The ambiance reflected a grab and go type setup where they assume people will take their slice and walk around, however they still had ample seating for those that wanted to stay. This pizzeria is located inside the kaleidoscope shopping center directly next to the movie theater . i tried this pizza using the toogoodtogo app and i must report that after driving 20 min home with pizza slices left over from that day we enjoyed pizza that night and for breakfast. the slices are generous and they reheat well in the air fryer or microwave. the sauce is well seasoned. if Sals was closer to home i'd for sure get my pizza here! read more

We moved away from the area and returned for a recent visit. One of our must stops was Sals. We had been going to the original in Foothill Ranch, and we are happy to see they have expanded. You can get Sicilian sliced square pizza or traditional pizza by the slice. We stopped in for Two for Tuesday. We took a variety of slices home. My husband is a big fan of the white pizza and I the traditional grandma pizza. The slices were just as we remembered from 4 yrs ago. Fresh tomato sauce and cheese. The pizza is not greasy. Ordered delivery from Uber Eats and tried Sals for the first time because of the good reviews. I can see what the hype is for now... this was some of the best pizza I've had in a while! I would prefer getting Sals pizza delivered over any of the other local pizza spots we normally get. The pizza tasted fresh and had quality toppings. There was a decent amount of pepperonis in every bite. They definitely don't skip on the toppings which is nice. Even better the pizza tasted just as fresh the next day!
