Me and a girlfriend went there after I won a gift card from work. The food was awesome! We split a chicken fajita and corn empanadas, and both were really delicious and the service was fast! We were both kind of surprised that the place wasn't buzzing with people. For both of us to split the appetizer and meal it was a total of 26 bucks, which was really good, considering we even had leftovers. Will be going back soon! read more

Sooo where shall I begin? With the dirty cup I was given? Or maybe my dirty, three to four page menu? Or maybe the smudge on my plate? Or how about how it took them fifteen minutes to get my cheese quesadilla to me and when I got it, it was freaking lukewarm? Now, I'm not the type to generally complain- my waiter was sweet and got tipped pretty nicely from me. But the food, menu, and overall cleanliness wasn't it. I was highly disappointed that when I got my drink, not only was the cup dirty but my drink was FLAT. I really wanted to send everything back but I wanted to tip my waiter and as a former server I wouldn't feel right tipping without the business profiting as a whole. Now going back to the food, I am a big germaphobe and also OCD so when I seen them place the dirty salsa container in front of me that needed to be wiped down severely, I was APPALLED, and added with the dirty cup and plate I couldn't even force myself to eat- I just waited for my date to finish as I wasted that money. I have been to many Mexican restaurants and LOVE good Mexican food- food that is fresh, flavorful and overall vibrant. However, I was not impressed at all. I really hope that they will improve soon and am just grateful that I only paid maybe $10 for my drink and cheese quesadilla (not including the $3 cash tip). read more

I'm new to the area & I love Mexican food. I moved from Queens NY...where there is an abundance of inexpensive Mexican/Hispanic restaurants. I've tried all of the Hispanic restaurants in the area. This is by far the best. The lunch menu is an unbelievable bargain...huge avocado salad for 4 bucks!! free chips & salsa. Lunch portions are more than plenty.. dinner portions are definitely enough for now & to take home for tomorrows lunch. Big strong Margaritas. Too heavy on the butter on the main dishes though (Chicken Fajita & Pollo al Carbon) and could do with some more spice. I should just ask for no butter I suppose. My husband says their beef quality is very good. Staff are super helpful & friendly. This is is very good restaurant...not excellent (close)...but it keeps me coming back. read more

Their food was one of the most authentic I've had in the area. And I'm half mexican so I know. It was very flavorful, service was great, and the place was nice and cozy but not cramped. I had chimiganga that came with a side of mexican rice and refried beans. The rice was exactly what mexican rice is supposed to be, the beans where full of flavor and the chimiganga had that great home made sauce drizzled all over with some cheese and sour cream that makes the flour tortilla feel like its melting in your mouth. I loved it. We also had dessert there. We had some fried tortilla thing with vanilla ice cream. I don't know what kind of ice cream they have but it was delicious. It was really rich and creamy. All together it was a great meal at a great price with great service. i would give it a 5 outta 5 but i their bar didn't seem well stocked and I didn't have anything to drink so I can vouch for thier drinks. 3.5 stars if I could. We had a great time here. I got smashed from one margarita-killer strength - and I'm a lightweight - so my food may have tasted better to me then usual...but hey, it is all about the moment. My husband had a seafood/rice dish that had delicious baby clams and tender baby calamari. I was feeling adventurous and jealous of Andrew Zimmer always eating pork....snouts, feet, ears, face....so I ordered my first ever pork rinds in a dish with sausage, potatoes, plantain, yucca and guacamole. What nice presentation too! Well, gotta say, those rinds are tasty little buggars. Loaded with fat of course, but with a thin layer of delicious white meat in between, and crunchy crackly meat on one end and inedible crunchy rind on the other. I loved this crazy dish! Guac was very good though salty and the yucca was comforting in its soft starchiness. I liked the crunch of the sausage, but it was otherwise non-descript (I agree with Jess X). The salsa and chips are very good. I can't wait to go back and try the mojitos and sangria. Wow, where else can you get a $5.00 margarita or mojito? This would be fun with a group - to get pitchers of everything. The menu is refreshingly different. It is not Mexican, though you can get similar dishes. For dinner on a tight budget, Salsa Latina is especially a deal. read more

The beef taco salad is amazing. I order it on a biweekly basis. The guacamole is quite tasty. The quesadilla is pretty average, though.

We love this place! Huge portions for reasonable prices. Great tasting food. Tasty margaritas and a great selection of Mexican beer. We always leave with enough for another meal at home, even my husband. Parking is on the street, but if you go about a block further, there is a municipal lot with cheap parking rates. Try the empanadas! I could eat that rice every day! I wish I knew how to make their rice. read more

We went for dinner on a Friday evening and ordered two different vegetarian entrees, each with different items enchilada, tortilla, taco, etc. The chips on the table were tasteless, the salsa humdrum and the entrees were so salty i couldn't finish them. The staff was pleasant, and, perhaps the meat dishes are better, as the place was busy, but the vegetarian fare was bland, uninsprired and definetly releid too heavily on salty, processed cheese. read more

The food was great here. We ordered the Carnitas Dinner -- delicious and the Tex Mex Quesadillas which were also excellent (very filling). This would be a 5 star review but the delivery was slow and we received one incorrect item, but that could just be because I butchered the Spanish word. Definitely better than El Mariachi. Food is as good as any tex-mex you'll get in the area. Margaritas are pretty decent. One thing they have over most of the other local Mexican restaurants is that they serve plantains with some of their dishes, which I love. read more

My husband and I are here on business for work and stumbled upon this Mexican restaurant it's a must service was wonderful great atmosphere this is the 4th time and our second time back in the New York area our waitress that we had 2 months ago recognized us and welcomed us back highly recommended it's awesome read more

Excellent food, always fresh and always above expectations. Additionally, there's nowhere that delivers faster in Albany.

An update. We visited again for the Monday night buffet. What a difference and disappointment. Didn't recognize any of the staff from the last visit. Went in excited about the buffet since our last visit was so great. The buffet offered many bland choices. Bland Mexican rice, soggy chicken chimichangas, and tasteless enchiladas. I also got some of the peppers, onions, and chicken that I assume were for making fajitas. The chicken was in small pieces and very tough. They buffet included other offerings than beans and makings for tacos which we didn't try. The guacamole was very good. Had that with the chips they provided to each table. Waitress never asked about our meals or offered refills on on drinks. Didn't check on us at all. After waiting quite a while for our check we went to the bar and asked to be cashed out. What a difference from our first visit. I definitely would not recommend the buffet. read more

I really love this restaurant. I'm Colombian and since moving from FL to Albany i have craved Colombian food and this place has it. So far iv'e had the Bandeja Tipica which was delicious, the meat was tender, a little on the fatty side but thats what made it taste like home. The beans were very good and i'm not a big fan of beans. The meal was perfect and authentic. I've also had their maduros con queso, which is basically sweet plantains with cheese. I'm not sure what cheese it was but its similar to mozzarella. those were just as good as home as well. The empanadas were nothign like the Colombian empanadas but it was still good. I know they have added more Colombian dishes and i can't wait to try them all. Their Mexican food is delicious as well. my husband has had their burritos and enchiladas and he was super satisfied. i've recommended this place to so many people and they have all loved it. IF you're curious to try good latin american food go to Salsa Latina and you'll be more than satisfied with the service and especially the food. read more
