This place is really cute! Love how big the display menu is. But, the service was awful and the food was mediocre. We were the only ones in the restaurant and the lady taking our order seemed to be in such a rush. Our food was done fairly quickly but when we asked for salsa, we seemed to be a bother for that lady as well. Our classic margaritas came out and it tasted like lemonade, couldn't taste any tequila. Customer service is horrible. We ordered by phone and they told us they were too busy to read back our order. When we got there, no one was at the register. The lady that had been wiping down the tables when we walked in finally came to the register. She then appeared botherd when I asked her to split the orders since I was picking up multiple orders. After collecting our payment we got our sauces that aww self serve and continued to wait for our food. I asked her how long the wait was done we had ordered the food 30 minutes in advance. Salsa Limon is one of the most underrated taco joints in town. Their food is consistently delicious and their asada is the only asada I have found in Texas even close to my Southern Arizona standards. I highly recommend the capitan, one with chicken, one with asada. Their variety of salsas pair perfectly and they have a wide range of spiciness for wimps and hot heads alike. I have been to several salsa limons but atmosphere at this specific location is pretty cool so it is worth sitting in to eat your food! I have visited this place more than 5 times. No issues, portions are huge! At least I struggle to eat the migas in full. They are so good. I had the tacos, and I'm a huge fan also. They have sauces available for you to take as much as you need. If you dine in they have fountain drinks, and Horchata, Hibiscus, and some other drink I can't remember right now with free refills. Tacos are very good, place is full at lunchtime, but fast service. Other times it has been empty and service was great as well. We were having a drink at Thompson's and a bartender recommended this place for a cheap/moderately priced meal. The service was great and we actually loved our meal. The server recommended the lengua, which is really good if you order it crispy because the ends get nice and crisped up. Decent "run of the mill" taco joint in downtown FTW. I'd compare it to Torchy's Tacos, however I do think Torchys is a bit better as far as mainstream taco shops go. They give a good effort at being "authentic". The tacos are good. They serve breakfast tacos all day and are open until 3am on the weekends so if you're in downtown FTW late, it would be worth the stop. I will say, the service is great! They brought out the incorrect order and fixed their mistake very quickly. Salsa Limon up and moved their Museo location (literally) but opened Centro downtown in close proximity. Here's the bottom line: it is still my favorite taco stand! The cabbage topping is what does it for me. I'm a purist and eat the plain taco the way it comes. Simple menu but you have choices on filling to your tacos, burrito, or quesadilla. Honestly I never venture outside of tacos! This particular location is near Sundance Square and has both indoor and outdoor seating. They serve beer, but I can't recall if they have a full bar. Great spot for workday lunch if you work in or near downtown. Parking will be a challenge though, as usual downtown, so walk there! read more

So worth it! They have locations popping up everywhere. This one is close to my office which is really convenient for grabbing lunch. They also have a small patio area and now offer boozey beverages so you can pop by after work too! I always liked the Capitan style taco- flour tortilla with melted cheese, your choice of meat (pastor is my favorite), cabbage, NO onions for me and I smother it in the house made green sauce. At the recommendation of several of the front desk staff at Aloft Hotel, my BF and I decided to grab some lunch at Salsa Limon. It was a short walk from the hotel and good street tacos are always a want for me. The decor (architecturally speaking) was quite interesting with large cement beams running at about a 45 degree angel through the entire restaurant). The vibe is cool and friendly. The gal working the register was very helpful and was happy to go through the menu for us newbies. While I thought I was certainly going to be having some tacos, my BF and I decided on the El Campeon burrito. The El Campeon is a "special" and doesn't appear to be a regular menu item. El Campeon is slow cooked barbacoa, fried egg, cheese, avocado, refried beans, and Spanish rice finished with cilantro sauce and, to boot, the buritto is then kissed on the flat top. We decided to split the burrito and have an order of chips and salsa. To be honest, we thought if we were still hungry we could simply order a couple of tacos. My BF could generally eat a decent sized burrito on his own and we were both quite full after sharing this deliciousness!! The meat in the package of yumminess was very tender and full of flavor. I would definitely have this again, and I am usually not much of a burrito gal. The chips came with a very fresh tasting, mild salsa. They also offer a progression of hot salsas that you can self-serve from the counter. They have Tomatillo, Jalapeno, Piquin and Habanero salsas that progressively get hotter. I am a big spicy fan and the Habanero will definitely leave your mouth feeling the heat. All are very well done. I had some of the Lime-aide (seemingly homemade and served in a large glass container with a ladle...they also had Jamaica Hibiscus tea and Horchata served in the large glass containers) and ice tea which made for a delicious version of an Arnold Palmer. They also had a variety of soft drinks. They do also offer beer, margaritas and other adult beverage options. The bathrooms were mediocre, well stocked, and could have used a bit of attention. They have apparently recently switched from plastic utensils to silverware and offer paper straws. I would absolutely go back to have some of the street tacos (and even a repeat of that fantastic El Campeon). The prices are fantastic for the quality and quantity of food. You must go! Well done!!! I came to Salsa Limon as part of a Yelp event, the owners, wait staff, and bartenders were spectacular. Everyone really went out of their way to make sure we had a great time. Learning about the restaurant and seeing the passion these fine folks have for their food was a lot of fun. We tried the Crispy Tripita, Asada Steak Capitan, and Barbacoa with Avocado tacos, along with appetizers of chips with beans and cheese. My favorite by far was the Crispy Tripita. It was warm and flavorful without being chewy. It tasted like I was eating a secret family recipe. In fact, when I took my first bite, I think I actually said, "This tastes like home." It's a perfect bite on a cold winter night, and pairs nicely with the habanero salsa and the horchata. The Asada Steak Capitan and Barbacoa with Avocado are also solid options. Now one may not get excited about an appetizer of chips with beans and cheese, but this was an excellent way to try Salsa Limon's salsas. In addition, the beans with cheese helped cool my mouth down when I went a little crazy with the habanero salsa. The chips tasted fresh, not overly salty, and the beans were seasoned and flavorful. As for the salsas, they all have their charms. First, the Habanero (Mega Hot) salsa is actually hot. Now, I know that most places say some salsa is hot when it is really just a little spicy, but not so here. Even someone, like me, that loves them some HOT stuff, this one was very hot in large quantities. For those not so much into burning heat, maybe only use a small amount, but you should definitely at least try it. The Piquin (Hot), which I am probably spelling wrong, was also good. But, I preferred the habanero because to me, it was a much more pleasant mixture of flavor and heat. The jalapeno seemed tangier to me than hot, but it mixed well with the other salsas. And, finally, the tomatillo ended up going on all of my tacos. It perfectly added something (not sure how to describe it, maybe twang) to everything. My favorite mix was 4 parts habanero with 1 part jalapeno and 1 part tomatillo, so don't be afraid to mix and match! Of course, I had the margarita, and it was great, a perfect mix of citrus and tart. Some restaurants go a little too crazy with the sweetness. I really appreciate that Salsa Limon keeps their fresh ingredients as the stars, not just the syrups. They also had Jamaica (Sweet Hibiscus Ice Tea) and Horchata (Rice, Cinnamon, and Coconut Cream), which both can be made into tasty cocktails. If you are here, you owe it to yourself to give these in-house treats a shot. If you're unsure, ask for a taste. The bartenders are all more than happy to make sure you're going to like what you get. This location is also great. Salsa Limon's Sundance Square location is perfect for me because it's close enough to become my new lunch spot (I work in downtown), but nice enough to be a date night spot. Plus, as Sundance Square is a great place to chill (i.e., people watch) or play some Pokémon Go, if you're into that sort of thing, which I am. So, having Salsa Limon's tacos in such a great spot is icing on that location cake. All in all, I whole-heartedly recommend Salsa Limon, especially this location. It's a great lunch spot, late night first date joint, or even a nice dinner spot for those of use with longterms. read more

This has got to be the BEST TACO PLACE EVER!! For starters, the atmosphere and design when you first walk in just makes you want to never leave. And choosing what you want from their menu is definitely a hard choice. The tacos are incredible. Everything is FRESH and you can tell. The meat is so flavorful and tender. The tortillas are all homemade and soft and warm. I absolutely love the fact that they have Maine Root on their soda fountain instead of your typical Coke or Pepsi products (it kind of reminded me of Austin in a way). The customer service was top notch. They were so friendly and accommodating and just made you feel at home. I will definitely be coming here every time I am in Fort Worth!! Ps. I took a date here on a Friday night and was surprised by how empty it was. There were probably 6 tables full and it is pretty big for a taco shop. It is a super casual environment. The service was very friendly and helpful in making our selections. Our food came out within about 5 minutes so 5 stars for service alone! We got four "el Capitan" tacos (which have the cheese toasted onto the tortillas) between us and they were all great! The tripas was my favorite.
