Okay so the food here is of good quality, but a few things that made Me give this just 3 stars. For one when you order for pick up if they tell you 30 minutes its probably gonna be 40-45. I've ordered from this place a lot and the food is never ready when they say it will be, also the customer service. Like most Hispanic restaurant the servers are pretty females, unfortunately a good number of them here have bad attitudes, they'll make a face at you or very much so give you the wrong tone of voice. Another thing their utensils, plates, and cups seem fairly old I've eaten inside and look rusty or cracked. Overall it's not a bad restaurant but I'd suggest going somewhere else like el Barron, but if you're too lazy to go further yea sure eat here. read more

Went in when I was visiting Los Angeles for a couple of days. You can pretty much sit wherever you want if it's not busy, I suppose. I ordered 3 pupusas and the "camarones en crema". The pupusas were Hella good, not disappointed at all. The shrimp dish was alright, meh, is more like it. So overall food was good, but what annoyed me a little was that the waitress kept coming over and asking if she could take away any plates. Twice. I was still eating from both plates and she almost took one away... I appreciate your concern for the customer but let me finish eating, haha! I'm here all the time. Best quesadillas de carne asada in LA! No joke. Pupusas here are great. Get a carrot juice and chicken tortilla soup if you are a hungry hippo. You'll be happy. FYI, service here is great but not the quickest. Just embrace it. read more

Just had catering from this place and had to know where the food was from. The cheese pupusas, plantains, chicken, and beans were amazing. Everything was so fresh and thoughtfully made- no unripe or undercooked plantains thrown in the mix as filler. I look forward to eating here soon. read more

This is my go to spot for a nice hot chicken soup! It taste like a home made soup that your grams make. I've eaten here once, and my wife and I have eaten here once. When I was here alone, I had a burrito that was very good, although it took longer to arrive than your typical taco/burrito shop. My wife and I shared pupusas with platanos, crema, and beans, and they were really, really good. The chicken soup looks really good. We'll be back. read more

Loved there pupusas and pastellitos. The restaurant is empty most times but most people are like me who prefer ordering and picking up food to go and you can do that here.It's better than eating burgers all the time lol. The caldo de gallina is amazing! They marinate their chicken with mustard & other spices that makes it amazing when you eat it with your caldo. I would give it 5 stars, but their pupusas are slightly greasy for my liking. Other than that, the salvadorian Horchata is amazing as well! read more

Delicious pupusas which range around $2 (though they are $1 each on Tuesdays and Thursdays!) Their fairly large and crispy when they come out. Best topped with the tomato (?) sauce and picked veggies. Their fried plantains are my favorite and are only $3, which is pretty good for the amount. They also have a delivery and online order option. Though if you order online, I recommend calling them just to make sure the order went through. Either way, you can also call to order. And for non-Spanish speakers (as many of the places around this are are her small businesses owned by Latino immigrants) there are folks who work at El Salsabor who speak English very well if you're concerned about order over the phone. My food took forever to be delivered 20 turned to 1 hr 30!!!! Can't believe it!!! Food didn't even taste that good.

In a word: terrible. Just do yourself a favor and skip this place. the place smells like rotten fruit and dirty rags. We could smell it when we first walked in, but decided to give it a try anyway after we saw the A on the window. Pupusas were filled with very poor quality rubbery cheese. The atol de elote was sour and had a sickening film on it. The chips were cold. The curtido was decent. The jukebox started playing really loud out of nowhere and the owner/manager had to turn it down. To his credit, he did so rather quickly. But then it happened again later. The server brought us a decent plate of rice and beans. The food took wayyyy too long to get to the table. Had to track the server down to pay the check at the end. She was washing dishes in the back. Paid 12.50 for the whole meal, and got less than my money's worth. I'll just go to atlacatl and pay about the same, but get double my money's worth. Just thinking about this place again makes me feel all icky =( read more

Teriffic place, excellent pupusas (spinach is good, loroco, revueltas), chicken soup is first rate, especially when sick. Fresh juices are also very good--vampiro! Solid stick-to-your-ribs home cooking for a song. Perhaps not worth traveling a long way to visit, but if you live in the neighborhood it's a great choice. Or if you haven't had very solid Salvadoran food before, it's worth the trip. Service is slow, so allow some time. Pupusas &c are made fresh. read more

They are a bit greasy and the salsa is just a tomato paste, no kick at all, but the cortido was flavorful and seriously, for like $6 you can eat pupusas all day, why complain about it?? read more

I had 2 Popusas....they were moderately sized...decent price, and the cortido was good and plentiful. Delicious! I also had a dessert empanadas, which were sweet and soft. The only downside was the there were no free refills...otherwise it would've been perfect. It's a bit hidden and looks rough around the edges but inside is quaint and manageable. I ordered two pupusas of spinach and cheese and she brings me two of chicharon which is not what i ordered and the lady gives me attitude about it saying i was the one who was incorrect about it. El Salsabor is an authentic Salvadoran restaurant run by great people who make everything from scratch. Unquestionably a bit of a hole in the wall, it is festidiously clean, The menu is simple, cheap and, like I said, authentic. Mainstays are pork, chicken and beef. The pupusas are terrific.
