Side of guacamole and fresh veggies.

My friend decided to have a small intimate birthday here for her 6 year old and we had an amazing time. The inside is so beautiful filled with traditional decor. Our server was so nice , patient and perfect for the occasion dealing with small kids. They played the birthday music for the kids and we all had a blast. Each dish was fresh, hot and delicious. I had the best chicken wings ever. Cooked nice and crispy on the outside and moist and flavorful on the inside.

Very few Mexican restaurants serve Chile Rellenos in Jacksonville... fewer do them well... today I enjoyed one stuffed with beef and one with chicken served with beans and rice... they were awesome... huge, pleasing to the eye, and delicious... the beans and rice were a perfect complement... the salsa served with chips was fresh and excellent... I'm so impressed with the meal I had to share... the Chile Rellenos are in small print on the menu so I suspect they don't sell many... don't make the mistake in overlooking their availability... you'll thank me later... muy bueno

Today I have to say it was a little disappointing. The waitress was wonderful always very helpful I like her. However, we had some mishaps today and that's to be expected as we're all human. First of all I got sweet tea instead of unsweet tea not a problem taken care of. I ordered the chicken fajita quesadilla. They brought out chicken fajita nachos. Not gonna let it go to waste, so I just ate around the chips because I did not want them (which is why I asked for the quesadilla). Tea refill comes and you guessed it, sweet tea again. So today just wasn't as strong attention to detail. I'm not the biggest fan of the liquid cheese, which is what the nachos were covered in again Another reason why I didn't care to have nachos. There was no way I was going to have them just throw it away so I just again ate around the chips. I'll definitely go back as It's not the end of the world just not what I'm used to it from here.

I have been visiting this location close to 10 years. The staff and food has always been amazing. The margaritas are amazing and do not have the syrup flavor which I love. Recently they changed the menu and switched up how they make the chile rellenos which was very disappointing. Hopefully they go back to the original recipe. Pizza birria was unique but needs a bit more umpf, this is a new item too. Street corn was to die for and they have a birria ramen that was amazing. I'll be back soon for an updated review.

I have been to this location a few times before. I decided to go here again for dinner. Parking was a little difficult to find, being that it is a shared parking lot, and it took me a couple of minutes to actually find a parking spot. The service here was slightly slow that day, and after a 30-minute wait, I finally received my food. The restrooms here were clean and presentable that day. The ambiance of this restaurant is just regular, and there's really nothing to brag about. For an appetizer, I decided to order guacamole and chips. The guacamole was fresh and flavofull. I just add some pepper and a squeeze of lemon juice in it to enhance the flavor. For my main dish, I decided to order the carnitas dish with salsa verde on top. That green sause is very good and very spicy. That green sauce will catch up to you very quickly. So, if you are not used to spicy sauces, I highly suggest not getting the green sauce. You can dry the red dauce instead. I think I will try out this location once again, and hopefully, the service will be slightly faster next time.

Fast service, good food, fair prices. Restaurant was very warm inside. Maybe the A/C was broken? Good place to go for a quick, cheap bite and decent Mexican food.

We stopped in here after a movie for a quick drink and dessert. I got the sangria and my husband got a margarita. He loved his margarita and I enjoyed the sangria but I really really loved the fried ice cream. We sat at the bar and talked to some of the regular customers. The staff was very friendly. We hope to go back again and try something else next time.

We opted to try Salsas on Phillips on a Friday night. Luckily when we got there there was no wait. The interior was cheery and brightly colored. We sat down and looked over the menu. We asked Nugget what he wanted and based on the kid's meal options and he said Mac and cheese. Chips and salsa were dropped off while we looked over the menu. The chips were crisp and had just enough salt. The waitress came by and we ordered a few Dos Equis beers and nuggets Mac and cheese. The server came back shortly and said they were out of Dos Equis and Mac and cheese (bummer). We asked nugget what he wanted off the kid's menu and he wasn't having it. After naming what seemed like 20 things off the menu the only thing he wanted was queso and chips, so that's what we ordered him. I ordered a Modelo and a beef chimichanga for dinner, which came with rice and beans. Everything came out pretty quickly and my meal looked huge. The beef chimichanga was good, seasoned beef, some queso on top. My only recommendations would be I wish the shell of the chimichanga was crispier and they had added more queso on top. The rice was nice and soft and the retried beans were flavorful. Pros: -Variety of items on the menu -Chips and salsa were good -Chimichanga was flavorful -Large portions Cons: -No Mac and cheese Tips: On Thursday's they have 3.99 house margaritas

    Salad Vallarta

Do not order food to go here! I order a salad Vallarta that is supposed to come with lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, cheese, black beans, Avocado slices, onions and rice and an option of steak. My salad had no lettuce, no tomatoes. It was filled with black beans at the bottom right out of a can, steak, a few slices of peppers and avocado. The entire bottom was all black beans. It was disgusting, no love at all. It looked like they scraped somebody's leftover into my to-go box. I will never come back here. I rather go to la nopalera instead, is cheaper and delicious there

This spot is great for happy hour and taco Tuesday. I like how the tacos come with two tortillas to keep them sturdy and easy to eat. The prices are reasonable and the service is always superb.

As always, Salsa hits the bell of deliciousness. Piping hot and on the spot with flavor. The Pina Loca comes in a pineapple with plenty of chicken, shrimp, onions and green peppers. Too much for me to eat. The rice and beans where nothing spectacular, they did the job though. The Enchiladas delivered, they came with chicken and beef; both were good.

Service at the bar was great. Food arrived faster than expected, but I had also got there as their night was winding down. My friends and I were originally going to eat here for Cinco de Mayo, but when I got there at 6:45, I was told it would be a 3.5 hour wait. They had a DJ outside pumping out fast and upbeat music for the party and an outside margarita stand for grab and go drinks. When I arrived back just after 9, I had told them to take us off the list. She informed me that they tried calling me. Nothing came through on my phone, but she did show her call log and sure enough, it showed they called me around 8:20. My friends and I probably would have stayed to eat here originally had we been given a more realistic wait time guesstimate. An hour and a half wait vs 3.5 hours is much more feasible. Oh well. I'm sure I'll be back in the future. I've always enjoyed Anejo.

Greeted and sat right away- 5 of us. Hostess nice, server nice. Right away had two large bowls of chips and two types of salsa brought to us. Chips were good, just added salt. Unfortunately it went downhill from there. And we were patient, super patient. It was a Friday, but it was not overly crowded, like I said - seated immediately around 7:40. Drinks, took over 30 minutes for a pineapple one and three skinny- we joked the food would arrive first, but we were very wrong. Then, the waitress waited for us to try- I think it was a newer person at the bar. We tried to like it, but somehow it tasted like flat sprite.our server took them away and made us them herself. Now, those were great. Small side of guac was brought after that- meant to go with the meal, but we were so hungry we just ate with the chips. It was very good- fresh tasting. Then we waited. The floors were sticky and our shoes stuck to the floor. The women's restroom was out of order. The kiosks seem like a good idea but nobody there to ask questions or to get your drinks. If you can catch one of the two people working as they bring out orders you are lucky. The menus on the kiosks are pretty informative though and tell the ingredients for each item. Kiosk automatically adds 20% tip unless you change it. Considering you don't have any interaction with employees until they bring out your order other tipping options might apply. They cook to order which is nice except you don't get your drinks or your appetizers until it's your turn. There is a comment section to type no tomatoes or special instructions. Mine still came out with tomatoes but they promptly remade it for me. The food is pretty good. No complaints there other than having to remake one of my tacos. The chips and queso was pretty good. Chips were dusted with spices and served hot. We tried 6 different tacos and they were all very good. The tortillas were toasted on the grill which makes a big difference. You can get flour or corn tortillas. The chicken and steak were marinated before grilling and were big cubes and plentiful. The menu has a pretty big variety including a kids menu with chicken and fries. The last comment is their fountain machine for drinks. The coke tasted off. They may need to recalibrate it. Drinks are served in small clear throw away cups and the lids don't fit very well. Refills are hard to get. You have to wait for someone to come out of the back. If these small complaints don't bother you the food is very good.
