Had our monthly book club meeting at Anejo and it was great! The service was quick and checked on us frequently. I got two tacos and they were actually super filling! They also have a great happy hour. The restaurant has seating both indoors and outdoors with a large lot next to Publix.

Talk about a Taco Tiesday! Finally a great taco. Well, really I didnt have a taco. I had a sizzling chicken fajita. The food flavoring was so robust. The quantity of meat, rice, and beans was far more than I expected. The service was mediocre. Pleasant waitress but she didn't check in often. The restaurant is really cute and perfect for casual hang outs, happy hour, date nights etc. The out door courtyard is so beautiful. Defintelty a restaurant worth visiting!

Anejo is hands down my favorite Mexican food spot in Jacksonville. I've tried many things and my favorite is the chicken fajitas, pictured here. The chicken is juicy and flavorful, and the service is always exceptional! It is on the pricier side, but worth it to me!

Enjoyed an evening celebrating my friend seventy birthday at Anejo. There was plenty of seating available for our party of ten. The food nachos were delicious, loved the shredded chicken quesadilla with black beans and rice served hot. Ida was a great server and attended our party. Parking was available in Publix garage and on street. Loved the drinks, appetizers and staff help celebrate my friend seventy birthday singing. A great atmosphere

Anejo located in the San Marco plaza right next to Publix. The restaurant had both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor patio was spacious and clean adorned with white stringed lights up at the top. Inside was beautiful with star lanterns that hung from the ceiling. Mediterranean tiling and colorful murals. I had the chicken quesadilla which came with seasoned rice , lettuce and guacamole and seasoned chopped tomatoes. Of course they gave free crispy nachos but the chorizo dip was the star of the meal. Creamy and melt in your mouth. I believe this was the best queso I ever tried. The quesadilla was very soft and delicious as well. The chicken inside seasoned to perfection and the quesadilla was crispy on the outside. Service was also prompt, attentive and helpful. Never once did we have to ask for refills or anything else. Prices were also reasonable. I will definitely be coming back again!

I tried the shrimp burrito Jalisco and it was definitely two enchiladas and not one burrito, but I'm not mad about it. The poblano pesto sauce on it was pretty yummy. I went on a Saturday night and the restaurant was busy, but only utilizing half of the tables so I was surprised at how slow the service was. The drinks we ordered when we sat down did not arrive until after our meals and our water cups were never refilled. Overall, nice location and good vibes, but hope it will be better service next time.

This was my first time at this Anejo. The food was delicious as always but the service at this location left a lot to be desired.

Place is super cute as all the añejos are love the murals. We went on Sunday afternoon about 5. They had lots of servers but many were getting making their own drinks and taking care of tables. Our server was great quicks and got our order right even with lots of modifications. I always do the keto taco and it was delish. Parking is a challenge here so plan for that.

I was skeptical about this place after seeing the reviews, but gave it a try. So glad I did!!!! Located in San Marco by the new Publix, we parked easily. I ordered the pollo arroz or chicken and rice. The chicken was tender and full of flavor! Rice sat on top and then fresh avocado slices, topped with fresh pico and queso. Amazing! Service was good and the Ambience was casual. Great food and reasonable for lunch. Highly recommended.

Ummm... totally left surprised by how good this place was! Tacos were seriously out of this world, server was great and the place was beautiful. Trifecta! Get the steak chimichurri taco as well as the Hawaiian! Must have!

Mid Mexican food for an overpriced budget. I've tried this new San Marco location which is extremely loud and hard to carry on any conversation with anyone; and the Riverside location. I've never fished my meals or come close to finishing my meals at either. I took both meals to go, never ended up eating my leftovers. Both locations 3 out of 5. The pretty ambiance, wide variety of drink selections, and late hours of operation are what score all the points for me. I do appreciate both locations I've visited staying open later than most nearby places. I've always had okay service as well. The food and drinks photogragh very well. The food lacks flavor. Best way I can think to describe the entrees I've tried: Let's say you hire a random assortment of practiced kitchen staff to make 10 - 20 staple Mexican dishes - the direction you give them when they ask where to source the recipes from is "refer to Google" Okay, that's what the food tastes like. What's the first, most popular clicked on recipe you find when you search "birria?" Perfect, let's go with that. Or Chimichurri steak? 1st recipe you find when searching that steak marinade/topping. That's what it tastes like they did at Anejo. No steak actually marinaded in chimichurri sauce. They just throw some on top of an overcooked, thin steak right before your entree gets delivered to your table. This reads harsh I know but, it's just my two cents. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, no one is right or wrong, this is what my feedback is about Anejo as a whole. We have an overload of taco places in Jax. If I wanted to overpay for high end Mexican food, I'll hi tail it to TownCenter mall and dine at that restaurant we all know well there. Their food has more flavor and better quality than Anejo. But drinks are better at Anejo. The San Marco location needs to drastically improve their acoustics in the restaurant so it isn't so hard to hear the person you are trying to have a nice time with. For a fun bar + drinks, possibly a side or an appetizer, I recommend any Anejo. For any entree choice, I do not recommend Anejo. We have too much competition in Jax to be settling on eating something Mid, esp at their high price point.

Sorry anejo, I usually love you, but this location and experience was a 3/5. Atmosphere 4.5/5 sat at the outdoor bar where the fans blow so strong to keep bugs away, but also blow away ur menu and ruin your hair. But otherwise its a cute indoor/ outdoor space. Drinks 4/5 typical mexican restaurant margs. Nothing more to add. No beer list. Service 2/5 every time we wanted or needed something we had to flag down a bartender. Not attentive at all. Had to ask for waters, every round of drinks, food, and checks. It wasnt that busy yet everyone sitting next to us also had to flag the bartenders down, so it wasnt personal that we were ignored. Ordered large beers, got a small. Ordered tacos, didnt put the order in. Bathroom trash was overflowing all over the floor. Staff needs training asap.

The parking lot was full, but their location has several adjacent parking lots that easily accommodate that. Luckily we were sat at a table in less than 30 mins. Service at the bar was great. Food arrived faster than expected, but I had also got there as their night was winding down. My friends and I were originally going to eat here for Cinco de Mayo, but when I got there at 6:45, I was told it would be a 3.5 hour wait. They had a DJ outside pumping out fast and upbeat music for the party and an outside margarita stand for grab and go drinks. When I arrived back just after 9, I had told them to take us off the list. She informed me that they tried calling me. Nothing came through on my phone, but she did show her call log and sure enough, it showed they called me around 8:20. My friends and I probably would have stayed to eat here originally had we been given a more realistic wait time guesstimate. An hour and a half wait vs 3.5 hours is much more feasible. Oh well. I'm sure I'll be back in the future. I've always enjoyed Anejo.

Greeted and sat right away- 5 of us. Hostess nice, server nice. Right away had two large bowls of chips and two types of salsa brought to us. Chips were good, just added salt. Unfortunately it went downhill from there. And we were patient, super patient. It was a Friday, but it was not overly crowded, like I said - seated immediately around 7:40. Drinks, took over 30 minutes for a pineapple one and three skinny- we joked the food would arrive first, but we were very wrong. Then, the waitress waited for us to try- I think it was a newer person at the bar. We tried to like it, but somehow it tasted like flat sprite.our server took them away and made us them herself. Now, those were great. Small side of guac was brought after that- meant to go with the meal, but we were so hungry we just ate with the chips. It was very good- fresh tasting. Then we waited. And waited some more. Asked about the food, then waited some more. Finally, we cut our losses and asked for the check minus the food that never came. The band was starting next door and we wanted to celebrate the bday girl. Pic 1, text just after 8pm- shows me joking that I was going to eat my friends food since she was headed over from next door and taking a bit and we had ordered 10 minutes prior. Pic 2, text shows us giving up- 9pm. So over an hour wait on food that never arrived - even if busy that would be a deal breaker. We were excited to try it too- disappointed.

The floors were sticky and our shoes stuck to the floor. The women's restroom was out of order. The kiosks seem like a good idea but nobody there to ask questions or to get your drinks. If you can catch one of the two people working as they bring out orders you are lucky. The menus on the kiosks are pretty informative though and tell the ingredients for each item. Kiosk automatically adds 20% tip unless you change it. Considering you don't have any interaction with employees until they bring out your order other tipping options might apply. They cook to order which is nice except you don't get your drinks or your appetizers until it's your turn. There is a comment section to type no tomatoes or special instructions. Mine still came out with tomatoes but they promptly remade it for me. The food is pretty good. No complaints there other than having to remake one of my tacos. The chips and queso was pretty good. Chips were dusted with spices and served hot. We tried 6 different tacos and they were all very good. The tortillas were toasted on the grill which makes a big difference. You can get flour or corn tortillas. The chicken and steak were marinated before grilling and were big cubes and plentiful. The menu has a pretty big variety including a kids menu with chicken and fries. The last comment is their fountain machine for drinks. The coke tasted off. They may need to recalibrate it. Drinks are served in small clear throw away cups and the lids don't fit very well. Refills are hard to get. You have to wait for someone to come out of the back. If these small complaints don't bother you the food is very good.
